This stuff is ridiculous. I don’t get why people are buying it, I had a sample and sent it to a friend who is a chemist he said that the ingredients aren’t much different to a typical drugstore competitor. This means that it’s a rip-off! I assume that it was great a long time ago because not many were producing creams, moisturizer, etc… But nowadays it’s just sad that this is still on the market and people are buying it. They are great marketers and very creative when it comes to brainwashing people. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU ARE BUYING IT!

Only 1 of 3 La Mer skincare product i would repurchase (the 2 being, the eye balm and the creme de la mer. The latter only for winter season)
I purchased a jar in preparation for my living in Spain for the whole year. I finished the jar after 8 months of use and im so devasted because this is not being sold in La Mer counters here in Spain! It is the only primer that erases my pores and hydrates my skin at the same time. This is not matte and not too hydrating but did an amazing job during the humid winter and spring weather in Barcelona and dry winter in Switzerland.
This works perfectly under any type of foundation but most especially under the La Mer soft fluid! The best combo!
I am currently using the Tarte smoothing primer, and while it does a good job in blurring my pores…its not a dupe to the La Mer Perfecting treatment.
I just hope they change the packaging to a squeezy tube so its more hygienic.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The product is a light fresh pink gel with a pleasant fragrance.
It is almost as light as The Moisturizing Gel was, yet leaves a more perceptive residue after application due to the silicone elastomer gel it contains. This is also the reason for its exceptional blurring effect.
It is supposed to perfect the skin immediately after application. That it definitely does. It contains mainly silicone oils, volatile hydrocarbon oil and a silicone elastomer in higher concentration that will after application leave the skin’s appearance more perfect through the modification of the refractive index of the surface. (This will obviously last temporarily until the product is removed or worn off during the course of the day.)
It contains some impressive actives, although it is very much doubted that they are in high enough concentration.
The “Miracle Broth” is at the most 5% concentration and the stabilized vitamin C (Ascorbyl Glucoside) is somewhere between 1.5-2%. (Ref. some ELC owned patent documentations.) The jar packaging will unfortunately prevent the actives to remain active for long after opening of the product.
The structural formula is in accordance with several serums under the Estee Lauder Co. owned brands. The main difference is that in this product the silicone elastomer is combined with Dimethicone and Isododecane (while in the other serums it is usually Dimethicone or the combination of Dimethicone and Cyclopentasiloxane). This will result in a somewhat lighter yet more nourishing feel than the combination with silicone oil(s) only.
Despite the pretty looks of this gel and the divine-looking packaging, one will be better off to invest in a serum from the ELC that also carries a lower price tag. Even the original primer from Smashbox (another ELC owned brand) will be a good (and a more reasonably priced) choice that will deliver the same finish as the LM Perfecting Treatment.

So… not sure what the hype is about. Tried this for about 2 weeks and honestly didn’t see a difference. Didn’t make my pores smaller, but maybe you need to use it more? Ultimately I returned it because I didn’t like the extra step and it felt ‘film-y’ on my face.

Love this… I had to take my skin care and makeup back to basics after a bad time with a very high end brand, and if it wasn’t for this I wouldn’t be able to hide the horrible reaction I had to lapraire. I am using this and as a primer under my smashbox halo foundation. It’s the only thing that’s keeping my skin from being itchy and raw. This and the concentrate by la Mer. I will be returning the lapraire for la Mer. I don’t want to believe in this cuz of the hype, but it works wonders. And the smell is divine. The texture is so soft. Love it.

It really is a shame for my bank account how amazing this is. I was using Clinique’s pep start hydroblur moisturiser which is a similar idea to this, but this perfecting treatment has absolutely knocked it out of the park. My skin has never looked so perfect! It really is unbelievable. I think I’ll have to get this for the rest of my life. Pores are gone, skin is comfortable (I use the perfecting treatment as a moisturiser). Absolutely obsessed. I prefer this to the hydroblur due to the finish, and the obvious anti ageing benefits too.

I have been using la mer “the perfecting treatment for around 3-4 months
Morning and night.
I apply my eye cream , then this and finish of with my moisturiser.
This silky gel is absolutely beautiful on the skin.
I didn’t want to love it so much, as it carries a high price tag .
But it’s worth every single penny.
It soaks into the skin. And leaves it feeling silky soft. And you can use it as a make up base.
Foundation glides on lovely.
And at bed time I use a little more. To give my skin a treat.
When it runs out I will definitely be buying my second tub. I wish I was rich enough to slather it all over !
But until I win the lottery, I will save it for my face and neck only ???? .

I just got a sample, I have given it a four star rating based on it being La Mer and I think it’s different from their other creams.
Will report back 🙂

This makes for a lovely primer, due to the abundance of cones in it. It’s a silky pink gel that feels lovely to the touch and goes under or over moisturizer.
