   The two Glow Maker Vit. C serum I ordered back in Oct. 2019 never arrived at my place despite Maelove claiming to have tried 3 times. The refund promised never materialised either. I am now without the products and without the money I paid up. Since it has been over 6 weeks and I have yet to receive a refund, this is what I would call a SCAM.

   Really great deal when you consider this is an exact replica of the leading formula sold by Skinceuticals, which sells for about $156. Same main ingredients, vitamin C , E and Ferulic Acid. Truly lives up to the name, it really gives my skin a glow that lasts all day. Only costs about $30. Bottle lasts for months, little goes a long way. So glad I discovered this . Highly recommended it for anyone wanting to try what these potent ingredients can do for your skin

   I don’t know what the heck is wrong with my skin, but I feel like I’m the only person on the planet Earth who didn’t see any difference or improvement after using Glow Maker consistently for four months. I’ve read all of the favorable reviews online. I really would love to know what it’s like for my skin to actually respond favorably to a skincare product for once in my life lol. Why is my skin so difficult?

   The texture of Glow Maker is fine: watery and (thankfully) not sticky like other serums can be. Yes, it smells like “hot dog water”, but I expected that. I don’t mind at all. The serum oxidized after 2.5 months (aka the color went from clear to yellow to orange).

   I just don’t see any visible difference. My skin isn’t brighter nor have my sunspots or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation lightened up.

   The Glow Maker Serum is the Maelove brand’s take on a Vitamin C Serum, and it really has a cult following.  I like that in addition to Vitamin C Maelove also included Ferulic Acid, Aloe, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamin E, and Grape Seed Extract to give skin hydration and more antioxidants.  The Glow Maker Serum was created with the help and research of MIT Scientists.  I do wonder a little what their full reasoning for including bitter orange extract (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Callus Culture Extract).  If you do have very sensitive skin I recommend a patch test 24 hours prior to using this on your face. Overall I really liked this serum and found it to be hydrating, brightening, and plays well with other products.  It is also a more affordable Vitamin C Serum.

   I have tried a couple vitamin c serums, Skinceuticals, Timeless, Amara, Cosmetic Skin Solution but one was too expensive for my budget and others all broke me out. This serum has not broken me out and with consistent use, does provide my skin with a brightening effect. Skinceuticals did as well and I could not give others a chance due to reaction but adding a vit c product in addition to retin a has given me good results for sun spots and light help with wrinkles. This formula is pretty standard – baloney smell, watery texture but it does work well under my moisturizer and price is under $30. Not sure what ingredient this lacks that broke me out in others, but I am happy to have found a vit c that my skin can tolerate.

   I bought it based on good reviews, plus the price is right…after using it for three weeks, my skin looks nice..now, does my skin look that much better ? Hard to tell., my skin was fine before…but I have mature skin, so it won’t hurt to add this type of skin care to my routine , so I will finish my bottle for sure..I don’t think it hurts to use this type of product twice a year…not sure I would use it every day,,the smell is particular, typical of vitamin C..so far, so good…

   Disclosure: This is the first true Vitamin C serum I’ve used so I’ve got no real basis for comparison. I previously used The Ordinary’s Ascorbyl Glucoside serum which had absolutely zero effect. The Maelove serum has been compared to the extremely cost-prohibitive Skinceuticals CE Ferulic serum. I have combination skin that is acne prone so I was worried about this stuff being too harsh on my skin but so far it hasn’t been. The scent is off-putting but an esthetician once told me that if a Vitamin C serum doesn’t smell like hotdog water, it’s not worth buying because it won’t do anything. Maelove’s serum definitely smells like hotdog water. I’ve only used it two weeks and already my skin seems brighter and more clear (to the point where people have commented on it). The consistency is thin and somewhat oily but it absorbs well into the skin. It’s somewhat moisturizing so depending on the oil level of your skin, you may be able to forgo a moisturizer. I love that it has vitamins C and E as well as Ferulic and Hyaluronic acids and instead of a hundred something dollars, it’s under $30. I will definitely be repurchasing.
