Let me start by saying I use Strivectin and I like their products. I have tried most of them, but this cream did nothing for me. I had some pigmentation issues on my cheeks and thought I’d try this. It did not worsen the spots for sure, but did not help either. I have since tried better brands for this problem (Vivierskin and Derma M.D. worked best). Pass on this cream and try the other brands instead.

I wanted to try a niacinamide product since it’s apparently great for blemishes. Considering this one has 7% of their own super strength, specially developed or some such BS type of niacin I thought it should work a treat.
Thankfully, I found a few small sample size tubes for cheap on eBay (under$10 for full size equiv) so I didn’t shell out the big bucks (the full retail price for this is pretty nuts considering how cheaply samples can be got).
At first, it seemed to be quite nice, perfect for my somewhat oily skin- sank right in, no stickiness etc. Within a couple of days, I got some breakouts. Decided to stick with it- could’ve been hormonal, my skin adjusting or who knows what. But, no. The break outs kept coming- an settled down when I stopped using this.
Not sure if my skin is too sensitive (probably- I use retin-A) or it’s just one silicone too many for me, but, yeah- too bad for me 🙁
Less sensitive, oily skinned gals may like this. Just get a sample first! 🙂

this isn’t holy grail, but it almost is. i could tell a difference in my skin evenness and brightness within a week. by the time i’d used all of the bottle (a couple months), my face looked firmer and younger. i will buy this again. another great thing about it is the pump bottle– the product stays fresh, you get just what you need, and you get it all.

I tried this on in a drugstore. I am pretty sure this product is what made me look TERRIBLE and dried my skin out

This works. I get acne extremely seldom, but when I do, I pick on them. At my age, acne scars take very long to fade. Without applying any treatment product, it takes up to half a year to fade out. Recently, I had acne marks three in a row just above my lip, and they were very embarassing as they made my mouth look dirty. I applied StriVectin conscionsciously twice a day, morning and night (not just on the marks, but on the whole face and neck), for two months (two pumps per applciation and that was how long the bottle lasted), and the marks have completely faded. Any leftover from each applciation is applied to the back of the hands as they are prime canditates for age spots. I also followed a beautician’s advice to apply SPF moisturiser daily to prevent the marks from darkening further.
The pump has a small opening, so this prevents product wastage and keeps it hygienic. The top of the bottle can be unscrewed, this is fantastic as it allows one to open up the bottle to check how much is left or to use up every last drop; also if one really loves the bottle perhaps it can be sterilised and reused.

I tried to like this, I really did. Since hydroquinone wasn’t working on my dark spots, I thought that the ingredient in this serum, NIA144, might work better instead. (For reference I have two huge dark spots on my forehead, one is a half inch in diameter, the other is about 2 inches long and half inch wide, I have no idea what caused them). Unfortunately after several weeks of use I have yet to see even minimal improvement. I noticed no brightening effect whatsoever (although to be fair I only used this on my dark spots and not all over my face. I may have seen some brightening all over had I used it over more of my skin). The serum itself is silky feeling, and smells pretty good. The pump packaging is great and keeps the product airtight. But since it didn’t do what it set out to do, I won’t be repurchasing.

I got this product about two years ago and have only had to re-purchase this product about twice a year, so you certainly get a lot of product for your money. I think it is absolutely fantastic for fading acne scars and pigmentation. The only reason I need to repurchase the product is because I keep getting acne and thus scars–but they go away nearly immediately as I use this in my daily routine. It has a lot of ingredients that other products don’t have like Niacin NIA-144 (their own ingredient) and Vitamin-C actives, the combination is apparently what makes it work so well! It also includes Willow Bark which helps combat acne as well. Very much recommended!

Quick opinion for this age/sun spot reducer “StriVectin-EV Get Even Brightening Serum” is that yes, it does work/help. But keep in mind that it and probably not any other brand of serun will remove all that sun damage and freckles!
I had seen this two pack at Costco for about $75 originally but didn’t buy it right away as I had just purchased & tried the expensive and useless Clinique Even Better serum, which I wrote a review about and gave a low 2 star rating since the Clinique serum didn’t do anything to improve tone or lighten my spots!
Costco marked down this two pack of Strivectin to $49, so I decided to give it a try after the Clinique failure. Well, I’ve been using this Strivectin spot serum for a little over a month and while I still have some of those stubborn sun damage/brown spots, this product did lighten it up a bit!
This Strivectin improved my skin tone enough so that my college age daughter actually noticed around the second week. I had just showered and did my usual night routine (cleansing face with Clarisonic brush and applying this Strivectin and then moisturizer), so no makeup and she stared at my face and asked what I was wearing. She thought I had some foundation or tint on because she said my skin looked clearer and brighter. So I guess if she noticed, it must have made a difference. She commented that while the darker spots were still there, they were considerably lighter and didn’t show up as much and the tone was a bit more even.
My experience with this Strivectin EV serum has been good (no reaction or breakouts and it seemed to help with some lightening) so I went back to Costco and bought another pack at the reduced price before they were all gone.
So don’t expect unrealistic/super dramatic results with this, but maybe some lightening and more even skin tone (enough that I can go out for casual with just tinted moisurizer or light bb cream-still shows some freckles/spots, but at least even) when using this. And when I do have to put on full foundation, I feel that I don’t have to put it on as heavy.
I also make sure to use a minimum of SPF 30 moisturizer or bb cream (Hydroxatone SPF 40) or foundation (Shiseido Sun protection powder foundation SPF36) to prevent more damage!
