   I don’t write many reviews but I must for this product and I was surprised with the low rating. I got this as a sample (Apricot Glow) a good 6 months ago and finally decided to try it out. I was skeptical thinking it is just another expensive gimmick with no substance. Boy was I so wrong! I don’t know how and I am not sure why, I look so much better wearing this product alone than foundation. It gives me that healthy glow without the heaviness of made-up face. I was worried about the non existence coverage but it somehow, magically “hide” my imperfections. I can’t explain the logic. I have also tried mixing it with my foundation but I still prefer wearing it alone with a bit of blusher. I have combination skin. It doesn’t break me out nor give me oily face at the end of the day. I still look fresh after 10 hours of wear and I love the feeling of not wearing foundation. Yes it is no doubt expensive but in my opinion, it is worth every penny! This is now my holy grail and I beat myself for not trying it 6 months earlier. I have purchased the full size.

   I am so shocked by the negative reviews of this. I use this most days on its own when i just want healthy looking skin with a subtle glow and this is exactly what it provides. it does not dry my skin out and leaves a beautiful luminosity. It’s also lovely under foundation or even to mix in with a moisturiser. I adore how versatile it is. It is very pricey as there are loads of options on the market now and many ways to add a glow but for now I am happy with this and since it’ll probably last me forever I feel like i’ve got my moneys worth. i use apricot for reference and I am a Mac NC25-NC30.

   I had heard about this line since I follow a couple of youtubers who use it, but never saw it anywhere (I live in Japan) until I was in NYC. And then I just looked at it- I was more interested in the compacts etc but didn’t buy anything because it wasn’t a priority at that moment, and this wasn’t the sort of product I was used to buying, either.

   Then my mother and I were walking on Madison Ave and a luxury pharmacy/beauty shop was closing, with a 60% off of everything in the store and they had By Terry.

   I am someone who never uses serums or creams because I break out really (really) easily with them- but I’ve been doing a tretinoin treatment, and it’s really improved my breakouts, reduced signs of ageing, and given me a more even complexion. For some reason this serum/corrector tempted me, and with the discount, I let myself be tempted.

   Turns out it works like magic on my face. It really evens out your skin tone in a way that makes you look as if you have fresh, natural skin. Since I am generally oily-skinned (but dehydrating with age haha) I only recently have wanted a “glow”- or, rather, I want at least the illusion of my young, fresh skin back 😉

   I bought the Immaculate Light- which I thought would be too pale, actually, but the other one they had- Sunny Flash- just looked way out of my winter color range so I went with this.

   It has honestly changed the way my makeup looks entirely. Little by little I even stopped wearing a full-face of foundation; now I use this, and then I dot concealer where needed, and buff it in. I can’t overstate what a miracle this is; I have felt unable to leave the house without foundation for many, many years- I just looked like hell if I didn’t- who needs that? And as you get older, it’s difficult to find a foundation that does the jobs you need it to- plus, I like to look natural, which is more and more challenging as your skin ages. This does that- it has no coverage, so I can’t figure out how it evens the complexion, but it does- and then you just need dots of buffed in coverage if you want- it all blends together perfectly. I can hardly believe that such a simple procedure with such minimal amount of product gives me a perfect complexion- and it lasts all day!

   Anyway- I can be notoriously cheap when it comes to things- mainly because I know that sometimes it’s just marketing and jacking up prices unrelated to the quality of the product; I live in Japan, where some drugstore products are what Western high-end cosmetic brands base their best products on; Japan and Korea are ahead of the curve on many things- so you can get quality without the high price tag.

   And I was lucky to get the first bottle of this at a deep discount- otherwise I might never have tried it. I went back and bought a second (and their last) bottle of it the next day (also at the discount ;)) and used it every day, loved it every day, and used it up completely. (about a month and a half- but I was a bit overly generous in my zeal as well).

   The bottle is a bit small. The product is very expensive. But man, it works. And not just superficially/makeup related- the skin-care effect of it is noticeable as well. Zero breakouts, and I’m not sure how it’s healing my skin, but it just feels good to put it on, and it feels that way all day.

   It’s a rather thin, glowy liquid, applies fast and easily, doesn’t stick to hair (duvet or eyebrows etc) and doesn’t settle in creases or dry patches. 1 or 2 pumps is enough for an entire face, easily. And you really don’t need any more than that.

   Smells lovely like roses- fragrance doesn’t seem to irriate my skin, where usually fragrance does, so that’s a bonus. Dry down of the fragrance is then ever so slightly odd- probably something of the skin-care element (an oil?) but it disappears right away, so no matter.

   When I was in NY again last week first thing on my to-do list was to get another bottle (at full price this time- and no hesitation on my part whatsoever) (even though I hadn’t yet started on my 2nd one) and I did- and I got Apricot Glow in anticipation of Spring/Summer. If possible, it’s even nicer than Immaculate Light because it suits my skin tone perfectly. So asap I’ll be buying some backups of that. Even at that insane price- it does so much to reduce my makeup time- with better results- and improves my skin, that for me it’s worth it. A little goes a long way, as well.

   PROS- easy, beautiful, natural looking, smells good, non-irritating, good for skin (perhaps better for those who are a bit oily and dehydrated but want a fresh glow) nice-looking packaging

   CONS- very expensive, bottle can be a bit awkward because glass etc. Not to be found everywhere.

   Would definitely repurchase, and already have, and planning next one 😉

   EDIT just found out they are selling in China so are no longer cruelty free- will not support.

   I was lucky to travel to Paris in September and had dreamed of visiting the By Terry Flagship Store. I indulged in this serum because I was desirous of two things: a luminous glow and a serum under my moisturizer to combat my dry skin. It’s a bit tacky, but does give a nice glow. It also has a pleasant rose scent. However, I will not be repurchasing. I think a serum with similar claims could be had for less.

   Me big fan of By Terry brand ..I am first time little dissapointed.
   I have sunny flash and this product is doing nothing, almost notning.
   I wanted to have little more tanned face without self -tan gel- I have received it !
   I wanted on colour on my face without dark places- I have received it !
   I wansted more glow (no disco ball) like in light expert foundation- hmm almost no glow at all.
   I wanted to get nice natural better looking face- Face looks better I have to be honest but…
   but without any skin care benefits without any moisture ! 🙁 this is the biggest claim.
   Serum should be rich , not oily but should moisture our face. This one is so dry that makes our face even more dry.
   Dont buy it because it is not worth more than 25 euro!
   All earlier reviews are correct.This is little shoddy.

   I agree with other Reviews, totally a waste of money, and silly me bought the Apricot and Sunny Flash. Do not blur any imperfections, dries my skin out. I am so very disappointed with this product. I only gave it an overall rating of 1 lippy as I had to.

   Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi-Serum. This is a big rip off. It does nothing what it says on the box – it does not correct, it does not hydrate in fact it does the opposite it is drying. “Rare” light reflecting Prisims – what – how rare are they? Blurs imperfections ( put on your rose-tinted glasses) smoothes features and fills in the micro surface – are they talking about “polyfilla” – what an absolute load of twaddle – heard about the “emperors new clothes” if you believe this you believe anything. How the price of £60 is justified for 30 ml is beyond me. I have bought a similar product “boots Number 7 highlighting lotion” at a fraction of the price, which is hydrating and gives a nice sheen. The only difference is it does not have the rose scent – may be this is what we are paying £60 for. I wish I had discovered this before I was subtly persuaded to try Terry products when I went into a company which heavily promotes Terry to buy a Laura Mercier Lipgloss. Beware of heavy push sales tactics.

   I have to agree with the previous reviewer. I ordered apricot glow, hoping this would help with a little redness in my cheek area. This shade does “claim to do that”. The fragrance is so very strong, and the scent lingers for a couple of hours. That’s not my biggest complaint though.. For $96 this product is nothing more than a highly fragranced luminizer with no skin care benefits, that I could see. I did not use as long as the previous reviewer, as I ‘m sure this is also breaking me out. Even on sale I am sending this back, and am so disappointed:(

   I have to admit…my expectations for this brand are always high as they always are for any brand at this price point, but good ol’ Terry spoils me so much that when I get the occasional dud I am so very disappointed. I won’t dramatize too much on this experience, I’ll just get down to business ;). This serum from By Terry promises to color correct, blur imperfections, moisturize and prime the skin, and add an overall brightening effect. There are 4 shades and each one is supposed to correct different issues, I chose shade #1 Immaculate Light, because it is supposed to correct dark spots and even the skin tone. Immaculate light is a pearlescent white shade and appears fairly shimmery in the bottle, however, when applied and blended out, the shimmer is super subtle and refined…not glittery at all and definitely doesn’t give the “disco ball” effect. It reminds me almost exactly of Lancôme Éclat Miracle from years past. It’s very liquidy and lightweight, looks gorgeous in the bottle, and does lend a sort of glow to the face. It smells amazing (heavily fragranced with the signature rosy By Terry skincare scent) but that’s where my love for this product ends. I am very pale right now (nearly nc10) and #1 left a whitish cast to my skin even when applied as sheer as possible. It did nothing to help with color correction whatsoever and even the faint dark spots I was looking to correct were still very much visible. My skin tone was not evened out in the least and still looked splotchy…splotchy and ghostly when wearing this! It is supposed to be hydrating and at first it feels nice on the skin but after about an hour of wear my face started to feel tight and itchy, just the way it does when I wear a foundation that is too drying. My biggest complaint is the fact that this is a primer/color correcting serum meant to be worn under foundation, and that’s where I found it to perform the worst. The only foundation it worked under was By Terry Densiliss…and the combo dried my face out so badly I peeled for days. When worn under By Terry Sheer Expert, Touch Expert, Éclat Opulent, and Armani Designer Shaping cream, it made the foundations apply unevenly and made them appear to “sit” on the skin rather than melding with it. It gave an “artificial” appearance to my foundation and made even my most natural looking bases look makeup-y. This product also did nothing to brighten my overall complexion…if anything, it made me look sickly. I wanted to test it properly, so I rode the storm out and wore it every day for a little over a month…in that time I didn’t notice any skincare benefits. I can not speak for the other 3 shades in the line, but #1 Immaculate Light was a big fail for me. If you’re looking for a super subtle, heavily fragranced, yet very expensive luminizer, you may like this product…If you’re looking for a true color-correcting product that delivers on skincare benefits and brightens the face, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. Le Metier de Beaute’s Peau Vierge Tinted Luminizer served me much better in this capacity. This is the first BT product that I can honestly say is not worth the money at all.
