In my skincare regime I have to admit that toners generally are at the bottom of my list and I often forget or don’t get the time to use one. But every so often I come across something in the world of toners which excites me and suddenly I’m motivated to use one properly and dedicate the time to fit it in. This time around it’s PC’s ‘Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner’. So many beneficial and hydrating ingredients, and a list of skin benefits that actually stands true! Using this I have seen a slight difference to the size of my pores, I have seen a quicker fade time on red marks from breakouts compared to when not using anything on them and with Niacinamide, Resveratrol, Sodium Hyaluronate and 2 types of peptide in here I don’t doubt for a second that this will help build collagen in the long run and that part of the description is not just a marketing ploy. My skin generally looks brighter and fresher too and more hydrated. A pet hate of mine is alcohol or fragrance when not required and this has none of that. It’s simply a toner that goes beyond removing last traces of makeup and prepping your skin, it’s almost like a one-step treatment in itself. Used up a 1 fl oz (30ml) trial size and will definitely invest in the full size – which although pricey for a toner at $24 for 4 oz doesn’t seem costly when I weigh up all the benefits.

I love constantly trying out new stuff – usually sample sizes via e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora)

This is a watery toner. I can’t tell a difference in my skin after I use it. It might add a little hydration but I’m always adding a moisturizer after so it doesn’t really matter. However, it’s breaking me out which is so odd. This is a no for me. I’ve had trouble with their Niacinamide booster causing breakouts so maybe that’s what my skin dislikes.

So this has great ingredients and no nasties like fragrance, alcohol etc, and I’ve re purchased about three times as it is quite affordable but I don’t feel like I see a noticeable difference in my skin like my pores don’t look smoother. Skin doesn’t look better then before, maybe the ingredients will make a difference if used in the long term, I really don’t know, but I am still on the hunt for a good toner that brightens my skin.
It does slightly hydrate my skin and doesn’t cause any irritation, thank god.

I had this on the shelf for many months because it stung my skin when I used it. After a while though, I started using it. I had run out of any other product with antioxidants, and I ran out of moisturizers besides aloe vera gel. I didn’t have enough money to buy new products or experiment with hits and misses. This time it didn’t sting.
I’ve been using it for over a month and I quite like it. It’s slightly moisturizing and my skin looks better from using it. I think it has helped with pores; my face just looks smoother and more even. It doesn’t break me out. I put this everywhere and it doesn’t cause trouble, not even around my eyes.
What was clogging my pores a little on my nose was the otherwise wonderful Clinique City Block SPF 40 under Revlon Colorstay.
UPDATE
Still loving this. It’s great to use on nights when I skip exfoliants. It isn’t as irritating as an exfoliant but it still helps with clogged pores.
I have samples of PC skin balancing toner and I can’t use that one at all. It causes flushing and stinging on me. I’m glad I can use this one because it has peptides and niacinamide. Itso also a liquid texture and I love that. Thumbs up from me.

This toner has excellent ingredients that you would find in pricey serums. It has peptides, nicinamide, carnosine (among others). It is a liquid consistency but it packs in the moisture and helps calms redness and irritation. It is excellent value. Instead of wasting this toner on a cotton pad I pour a small amount on to my hands and pat it into the skin.

This toner BURNT my skin on contact.
I obviously have an allergy to one of the ingredients.
I know some people love this – so don’t rule it out – it could be perfect for your skin type.
Definitely order a sample first.

I have a love-hate relationship with Paula’s Choice as a brand. On one hand I’m thankful for all their website does to educate people on ingredients…and on the other hand, I hate them for being so damn biased when it comes to reviews. As for products, I’ve never found anything from them that I absolutely love. One of their tinted moisturizers was pretty nice, but too emollient and 3 shades too dark.
So with all that being said, I didn’t love this product either. For a toner it sure didn’t seem to tone my skin. Instead I was left with a sticky film of residue. Anytime a product leaves a film, I know my pores are going to get clogged. I am extremely acne-prone. And I was right. Within days I broke out like a volcano.
I wish I could say more about this but I couldn’t last past a week using it. The ingredient list is FULL of beneficial ingredients so I’m sure this is a miracle worker for some. If you have dry skin you might even like this just for the “hydrating” residue it leaves. But I sure as hell will not be repurchasing.

I use this toner on my forehead (where I already have some lines) and on dry areas if my skin, for example when blemishes are healing. Niacinamide, Glucosamine and Hyaluronate are the healing ingredients here! Willow bark and licorice are smoothing! Not for my T-zone though (except forehead).

This is actually a product that I’ve repurchased, which is very rare, because usually by the time i finish them i get bored and try something else. I just find this toner to be amazing after double cleansing my face and it just moisturizes and calms my skin so well. I also like the added antioxidants, and that its fragrance and alcohol free. Im not sure that i will buy this again next time, but i will be certainly looking for something like this, and if i cant find it, i wont be sad about coming back to this toner.

I am sensitive to many chemicals and ingredients, so I buy and give/throw away more products than I’d like. It often takes several uses before I know how I will react, so I just keep searching. I also have OILY yet SENSITIVE skin, which is a skin type many brands ignore completely.
This product is a VERY RARE exception to that oversight, and made precisely for someone like me. In fact, this is TOO MOISTURIZING for me to use in our humid summer months, when I need to switch to Skin Balancing Pore-Reducing Toner to avoid clogged pores. And I’m over 40!
When I found myself using Beautypedia and finding the reviews fairly accurate and helpful, I finally gave in and ordered some of the founder’s own “Paula’s Choice” skincare products to see if they would work better than the drugstore brands with which I started my experiment.
To this day, I use drugstore cleanser (Cerave or Cetaphil), but I found the Paula’s Choice toner and especially the BHA exfoliant to be well worth the price and effort of ordering online.
I’ve been reordering Paula’s Choice RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment 2% BHA consistently for about a year now, and alternating toner types during that same period. That’s a record for me. I don’t think I’ve ever stuck with any product for this long.
While my skin has always been pretty good, I continued to suffer from occasional pimples into adulthood. Typically, I would have one or two at any given time somewhere near my hairline or (most common) on the back of my neck under my long hair. Now that I use this exfoliant daily (at least once, but often twice daily), I rarely get even a single pimple. I do still have occasional blackheads on my nose or tiny whiteheads on my chin (invisible except when peering intently into a magnifying mirror) but even those are barely noticeable and a significant improvement over what my skin clarity before.
I simply don’t need (will break out from using) moisturizer except every 2-3 days at the peak of winter dryness, but using PC Toner once per day provides me with sufficient moisture to keep up with the slight cheek dryness that I’m gaining as I age.
Customer Service is fantastic. Samples are available for all products, and returns are easy when I’ve tried something that didn’t work out. That alone is saving someone sensitive like me money over the ostensibly cheaper drugstore options.
