I have been using this serum for a week. I use twice a day, in the morning and before bed. I dont see any difference with wrinkles and fine fines since its only been a week but my skin is a lot softer and moisturized. It moisturizes without making me oily. I do get acne often but I haven’t had a breakout yet. I am not experiencing any redness, tingling sensation, or flakiness even when I apply very close to my eyes. I dont know how much retinol this serum contains but its reasonably priced and easy to find at any drug stores or department stores. Its worth trying and I would buy it again.

The Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum contains incrementally more retinol SA than the rest of the line — at least, from what I could ascertain from the ingredients list and my own assessment! I love it that this serum contains retinol SA to help improve signs of aging, the glucose complex to “prep” the skin, and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and produce a lovely cosmetic effect with the flecks of mica in there as well.

I applied this product twice a day and used the entire one/half ounce tube. I hoped this retinol product would minimize, or even eliminate the lines on my upper lip. It did neither. I couldn’t see any improvement at all.
Excellent tube packaging with a dispenser top, though.

The first day or two using this was fine, then all of a sudden the skin under my eyes started burning very badly. I stopped using it, obviously, but the burning didn’t stop. It felt like it was trying to SCORCH the wrinkles out of my skin. The skin also started dryly flaking and peeling off. It got so bad that it was unbearable. I tried not to think of the words Searing. Flesh. I even tried putting cool tea bags over the area and then vaseline, but it didn’t really help. All this was at least a day after I had stopped using the serum. I wasn’t using anything else that could’ve caused it. The package says you may experience mild redness, tingling, and flaking, but this was an unnatural kind of pain that I have never felt before, and my skin has never reacted to any other cosmetics. It’s been about 3 days since I used it and the skin is still sore and slightly painful to the touch. I have sufficiently scared myself out of trying any other wrinkle cream, or even any other Neutrogena product!!!

Really wanted to like this, but the formula is all wrong for my mature, combination skin. It goes on thick, almost like a primer, and leaves a dry, matte feeling. Just seems like too much under my foundation, and definitely is not friendly to my MAC Studio Sculpt foundation, which is thick and gives full coverage. I went through the 1 oz tube very quickly, a lot faster than I have gone through more liquidy serums. Didn’t irritate me or dry me out, so there’s that, but I won’t repurchase. I need a Vitamin C ester in a dropper bottle. Or green cream.

I ran out of this and actually went a month before I could purchase it again…. :/
NEVER AGAIN!! ….my skin has started looking supple and younger again, and the month without this….all lines and wrinkles were so noticeable again!!! and omg my crow’sfeet are now driving me crazy. I didnt realize JUST HOW WELL this had been working until I had gone without it! I like this a little better than the Rapid Repair in lotion…..but they both do the trick!! This is thicker and needs to be more patted around the eye area as opposed to rubbed in, due to it balling up and rolling around like serums will do. It seems pricey at about $20, but WELL WORTH IT! If you’re in your 40’s like me and starting to freak out about your face starting to noticably change….ugh….do yourself a huge favor and get this and/or the lotion! It’s the absolute best thing I’ve tried even over more expensive treatments . This whole Neutrogena line is amazing. I swear by all of it. Never again going back to department store brands.

After about 9 weeks of nightly use I have finished a tube of this serum and figured I can now give it an honest review. I am 31 and have some fine lines on my forehead and suffer from moderate hormonal acne. A friend of mine who is an esthetician recommened that I use a retinol product to combat both my fine wrinkles and acne so I decided on this Neutrogena product due to price and the fact it can be bought almost anywhere. I got my tube at Target for around $21USD which I feel is pretty afordable for skincare. I like the packaging. It comes in a tube with a pump, but I will say that as I got to the end of the tube it was difficult to get the last bits out. It has a light floral scent which is ok but I would prefer if it didn’t have any added fragrance. The texture is a bit different than I am used to for a serum. It is gel like and thicker than any other serum I have tried. But it applies very smoothly and sinks into my skin quickly without feeling greasy or heavy. It also wears well under makeup. I didn’t experience any irritation, just some very mild dryness for the first week or 2. Unfortunately, my fine forehead wrinkles haven’t diminished one bit. On the bright side, my acne has decreased! I used to get 2-4 large cystic bumps every month that would take at least a week to heal and those are almost a thing of the past. My skin does feel a bit smoother than before and maybe a tiny bit more even. I just wish it was making a difference in my wrinkles. I will probably buy this serum again and continue to use it just for the benefit of my acne.

This is a great product for those having never used a retinol. I’ve never ventured into Retinol products but knew at age 47 that it was past time. I don’t have wrinkles but I do have a lots of hyperpigmentation.
Generally I don’t use many drugstore brands but knew this would have a low enough concentration for a beginner Retinol product.
What luck!! Literally the next mornng I could see a difference. The most noticeable improvements were that my pores were gone, my skin looked so smooth and puffiness below my eyes had decreased. I’ve been using it morning and night and am now on day 4.
This morning, I noticed that I was beginning to regain my natural glow.
So far haven’t seen much of my hyperpigmentation diminish but I’m so thrilled with the other results that I could care less!
The feel is very light and it sinks in quickly. Perfect for layering under moistiruzer/sunscreen.
I will religiously use this and then probably move up to somehting with a higher concentration.

I am a “cosmetic-counter skeptic” on steroids usually, but in an effort to get my skin nice before I celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary at 43, I thought “why not?” So I’ve been diligently using Neutrogena’s Anti-Wrinkle/Anti-Blemish treatment and Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum. I have had some promising results at the 2-week mark here. I am usually very oily and blemish-prone. This is the best moisturizer as it provides a protective barrier against acne-causing bacteria. I have tried so many treatments and ended it with little to no effects. I am very happy and will be continuing this for some long time to come. I think I can ditch the foundation now!
