Almost the best product I’ve ever used to diminish signs from yester-late-night. Before sleeping, I’d slather on my usual skincare – lotion, eye cream, essence – without the moisturizer. Then I’d squeeze a tiny amount (about 1/2 the size of a fingernail) and massage this into my skin with my warm hands. It usually takes more or less 30 seconds to get absorbed into my skin. The lavender scent is amazing, and smells natural enough. I have mild eczema at the sides of my nose, and this doesn’t irritate it. In the morning, my skin feels baby soft, has a slight glow to it, and my pores seem almost invisible. Nobody would’ve guess I slept at 3am in the morning. I’m halfway through and already preparing to get more of it. I think till the day I die, I’m never gonna stop using this. Skin type: Normal at the cheeks and oily at the t-zone.

A Guerlain consultant in NYC told me this product is most effectively used in the morning, following a late night. I had asked about the ingredients as it’s not listed on the bottle. I have used it in the morning when my skin is jet-lagged, insomnia. I can’t tell much difference when used at night.

Let’s start by saying this is a feel-good product. It is super rich and smoothing and smells divine. I personally love my skincare to have a strong smell as my skin is not sensitive and the scent is part of the overall experience when applying face creams. I used it only for one night as the claim is that this product is for nights when you did not rest well or sleep long enough. I don’t know if it was wishful thinking or the effect of Guerlain’s gorgeous packaging and super smooth consistency but when I woke up, I noticed that my skin was somehow brighter, as though there was more uniformity and a consistent color to the skin. I already had pretty good skin to begin with so it is hard to judge. This product is really an intensifier. I would recommend it as a special treat and a luxury.

I initially instantly regretted buying this product. I love Guerlain’s makeup, primers etc. and thought this would be a great night cream. And don’t get me wrong, it is. It feels wonderful on even my super dry skin and the morning after my skin feels good, but I find a lot of the attraction to this product (for me anyway) was trusting the brand and beautiful packaging. The extremely strong rose scent is pleasant, but I’m not a fan of perfumes in skincare, I find them unnecessary and irritating. This wasn’t very irritating and even when put around my eyes didn’t really sting, but I won’t be buying again. I half-love this, but I want to try another night cream before I consider re-purchasing. I used this with Clinique’s moisture surge overnight mask on top, and I’d rather a cream that can deliver that kind of moisturising on it’s own. I’d say try it out before you buy it, it feels very classic and elegant, but maybe its moving its way onto old. I can’t see this of having its formula changed since its conceiving.

Smells divine, feels nice but failed to notice any improvements to my complexion. It is one of those products that makes you feel good but has little in the way of results to make me want to buy it again. Packaging nice for a week or so, but gold peeled off and labelling disappeared and impossible to get the last several uses out of it. Also bottle is top heavy and falls over. Much better products on the market or just treat yourself to pure rose oil and add it to your favourite cream.

I was sucked in by the seductive name of this product. What a waste of $100! One of the most standard, least interesting, least effective moisturizers I’ve ever used. EL Night Repair is light years ahead of this relic. Plus the pump mechanism is totally unwieldly (at least for these man-hands). I do appreciate how slick the Guerlain packaging is and I have no problem paying for some sizzle with my steak, but this bottle of nothing just doesn’t deliver the goods.

I bought this serum not long time ago by an accident. I was looking for something instead of the Estee Lauder night repair and while I was in the shop I remembered my beautician who used to work at a Guerlain saloon and who’d tell me Guerlain is one of the best cosmetics company. I picked the Midnight Secret and how positively surprised I was! It works wonders on my sleep deprivated face, it’s unbelievable! I’ve never had a better night care thing in my whole life. Then I saw all the good reviews you ladies posted on this site and now I know that I can trust your judgment. I hope Guerlain never discontinues this product.

I adore this product. It makes me feel very pampered, moisturised and ladylike. I have no idea if there are any real benefits to using the product- to be honest I can’t really see any difference. But it does make my skin feel soft and dewy- like when I was 20 🙂
I do like the scent as it feels very ladylike and old fashioned, but not for an everyday product. The bottle looks good and I like the pump dispenser. I use it under make up when out for a big night, or use it before bed time after a big day at the beach or in the elements. At most I would use this about twice a week as I did read once that it can dry your skin out with too much use.

It worked initially and gave me a plumped up, smooth complexion. When I ran out of it, one week later, my skin returned to it’s usual grotty state. I bought yet another bottle but it didn’t do anything more than serve as a good moisturiser. There are way better moisturisers out there. I will never buy this again.

After reading all the hype i bough this a couple of years ago and i still have about half a bottle left! I use this only when i have a really late night or when i want my skin to look amazing and i’m going to have less than 7 hours sleep lol. It is a luxury product and the results are fantastic every time. I’m really happy that i bought it as it’s still going strong and so worth every penny. Good for those who have lots of late nights but still want to look amazing 😉
