I just started using this after reviews I read and so far Im loving it. It easily absorbs into skin and has divinely worked to help plump and tone my skin. I also love that it doesn’t have much of a smell like most retinol products.
I know there are stronger concentrated retinol out there but so far I’m loving this one and might just keep it in my permanent rotation.

This product works for me. I was looking for the Liftactiv night but the Shoppers near me only had this one, and I bought it on a whim. I use it at night after cleansing, toning and apply a moisturizer after. It has improved the skin turnover, cleared up some hormonal acne I had on my chin and I think, improved the contours of my chin as well. It works for me and I have sensitive skin.

GOOD FOR FIRST TIME RETINOL USERS // So I decided to give this product a go after my second baby was born. My skin was looking as tired as I was, and I was experiencing the glorious combination of acne paired with the first signs of aging. Turns out my skin is very sensitive to retinol, and I had to take this product really slow as not to get the red, flaky complexion associated with retinol (once every three nights for 3 months with a very emollient moisturizer on my off days.) it took me 7 months to work up to using it every night without getting flakes. But, dedication paid off! Not only is my acne/oil slick by noon skin completely banished, my fine lines have screeched to a halt, and I even, dare I say, have a little glow to my complexion. This product specifically is nice because it contains hydrolaunic acid to retain moisture, but the consistency is pleasant, and the scent is fresh and not overpowering. I know I will graduate from this product to a higher concentrate eventually, but for now it’s taking care of this mama’s crazy skin issues!

The product name (LiftActiv Retinol HA Concentrate) is misleading, at least in my book.
Based on my understanding of OTC retinol formulations, I would expect anything that has “concentrate” in the name to contain at least 0.5% of the main ingredient. Vichy’s own website states that it contains the highest concentration of retinol in their line (but without stating the actual percentage).
Gah. Granted, these things probably aren’t standardized (at what point is a retinol formula truly “concentrated”?), but my personal expectations? Not met.
Turns out that this only contains 0.2% retinol, at least according to the information I could find online. Is that enough to be effective? Yes, that puts in in what I would classify as a moderately strong OTC formulation.
However, I was looking for more. At least 0.5%, to be specific.
My skin is very tolerant of retinol products (I’ve never had a problem with using any OTC product at any concentration on a twice-daily basis from the get go (yes, I use a high SPF sunscreen during the day!)). Truthfully, I’m probably at the point where I should seek out a prescription strength formula, but lazy and cheap.
As for the product itself, it’s an emollient cream serum. Texturally, it’s quite pleasant but for a comparable and less expensive drugstore-priced formula, I would turn to Neutrogena or RoC (or??? Probably other good options I’m overlooking) over Vichy.
FYI, this contains hyaluronic acid which is a plus in my book and why I purchased it in the first place; however, the HA comes after retinol in the list of ingredients, so there’s not a whole lot of goodness in the tube, especially since the retinol is only 0.2% (which means there’s less HA than retinol).
I ended up returning this because I don’t think it’s worth $45. Forked up $65 for another bottle of Peter Thomas Roth’s PM retinol serum instead (which contains 1.5% of the main ingredient and which I’ve reviewed separately).
PTR is pricy, but the formula is lovely and I haven’t found a better product at a comparable price point, let alone a cheaper one good enough to tug at my innate cheapness. Vichy sounded promising on paper (or rather, the packaging) but nope.
Recommended only with reservation if there’s something about this formula that appeals to you and makes the premium-ish price worth it. Otherwise, I think your money would be better spent on something cheaper but just as good or something more expensive but a lot better.
