   LacSal is a rather mild exfoliating agent. It is ideal for folks who are new to exfoliants and want to begin slowly. It has a light texture and did not produce any noticeable flaking.

   Skin Biology Lacsal Serum (Dissolves protein of folliculitis and ingrown hairs)

   After going through Menopause and for at least the past five years, I have had folliculitis and stiff, ingrown hairs on my upper lip area. Skin Biology Lacsal Serum has completely dissolved the folliculitis, so the hairs are exposed! Previously I have had laser, taken Progesterone, Estrogen, topical Progesterone Cream, Spironolactone, Metformin, Clindamyacin Gel applied topically and also Clindamyacin and Doxycycline antibiotics taken internally, Benzoyl Peroxide, and numerous other topical treatments.
   Quite by accident, I found mention on Makeupalley.com of Lacsal Serum and that it could help dissolve the proteins of folliculitis. Within two days, my folliculitis was being dissolved, and I am now getting electrolysis to permanently eradicate this nightmare I have been experiencing.

   Also ordered Skin Biology CP Serum, but it is the Lacsal Serum that started dissolving the whiteheads or folliculitis.

   This is a miracle for me!

   I’ve used this for years. I disagree with previous posters who say it is sticky. Yes, immediately after you apply it but the stickiness goes away in a little while. It is strong yet gentle and doesn’t irritate my skin, even delicate eye and neck skin, and prepares it for the Skin Biology Skin Signals copper peptide serum I use every morning.

   I just had my third baby going on almost two months ago. With the joy and excitment of a new son came hormonal acne :(..Two weeks before I gave birth the left side of my chin went crazy. As soon as one pimple would go away another was there to take it’s place. My right cheek also develped clogged pores and when I would wear makeup that side of my face looked bumpy and gross. I thought oh well i’ll just knock this out with my hg acne fighting product which was DDF’s benzoyle peroxide. Well what do ya know it just dried my face out and did absolutely nothing! I was thinking well maybe because this is hormonal I wouldn’t find something tohat would work…I ordered this about a week before I had my baby and had used it off and on and I wasn’t really too impressed. I was desperate so I decided to give this another shot. The key is to use this consistantly duh I should have known that. I use this twice a day morning and night with a cotton ball. It does not sting or burn my face at all sometime I might get a very minor tingle..It is a little sticky but that goes away from me. In a week my face is now just about one hundred percent clear. This has eliminated my acne and clogged pores. Its also hydrating so I don’t have to slap moisturizer on my face. It’s also helped even out my skin tone. I can’t wait to see my results after using this for longer. For the price and I would definitely give this a shot if your considering it. This is now my hg for preventing and eleminating acne!

   Me: 23, combination skin – oily nose/chin, dry & sensitive cheeks/forehead, red all over.

   The product: About $20 for 1.7 ounces, which is really good for an AHA/BHA serum…or any serum at all, considering how jacked up prices for treatments can get! This comes in an airless pump and has an unmistakable propylene glycol/glycerin feel. As in, slippery, slick, and somewhat gooey. Although it contains fragrance, it doesn’t smell very much at all. It has a faint metallic odor, but that’s about it. I tested the pH with my own strips, and got 4.

   My experience: SO MUCH LOVE. I’ve used both AHA (in cream form) and BHA (in toner form) separately, and neither had the impact I wanted them to have. It appears that an AHA/BHA serum was just what I’ve needed. I’ve used up about 20% of the bottle, and I’ve already seen a dramatic difference in the texture of my face. I have less flakes, less roughness, and all my other products are sinking in much better. I’ve even been able to experiment with some makeup, which is a miracle, because foundation ALWAYS highlighted every single flake on my face (of course, the search for a good foundation would probably bankrupt me – lol!) Now, that said, this hasn’t loosened up my blackheads to a tremendous degree – yet. I still have a rather annoying case of nose/chin blackheads, although my skin is pretty clear elsewhere. Hopefully by the end of the bottle, those pesky nose comedones will be lessened. If not, I’ll probably try a stronger AHA/BHA product. But so far, I love this, and I’m perfectly willing to give it time.

   The best part is how hydrating it feels. Rather than spending 20-30 minutes after I apply it counting down until I can put a moisturizer on (after using any acidic product, you’re supposed to wait at least 20 minutes before using anything else), I’ve actually applied it and then realized an hour later that I hadn’t used a moisturizer yet.

   I did experience what I consider purging when I started using LacSal serum. There is some question about whether BHA actually does make you purge, but whatever those whiteheads/pimples were caused by, they were gone after 2 weeks.

   This product may have very well worked, but I will never know because I had to immediately wash it off my face. It has a strong, lingering and IMO – BAD “herbal fragrance” aka stinky weed smell. It also leaves the skin feeling quite sticky, I suppose due to the glycerine in it. And if that wasn’t enough, the pump packaging shot product halfway across the room on me when I pumped it too fast?… (it’s somewhere in my bathroom – GOD knows where!)

   With shipping, I paid around $30 cdn. for 50 ml. For me it’s not worth my time or trouble to return it, but I do have my local rep’s card and will be calling her with some feedback. If they killed the fragrance I might re-purchase, it is reasonably priced, and a product I believe, suits my skin type.

   I bought the 1oz. bottle of LacSal serum from Skin Biology at the beginning of about 10 weeks ago, and I have been using it every night since then.

   This serum is 1.5% salicylic acid (BHA) and 8.5% lactic acid (AHA). Together, the two acids are great at helping me control my acne and blackheads. The BHA deep cleans my pores and the AHA exfoliates the top layers of skin, which helps fade the red marks I get from past pimples. I did experience some purging from this in the first month of use- very clogged areas of my face like my forehead, nose, and chin erupted into small pimples that healed relatively quickly. Once the purging phase was over, my face felt a lot smoother and more clear. All the deep under-the-skin clogs I’d been dealing with are gone now, and pimples are a lot fewer than they were before. Better yet, I have experienced zero irritation from this serum, which is more than I can say for the other BHA products I have tried. Because my acne is hormonal, my skin isn’t perfect by any means, but this helps it out a lot.

   I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a product to both unclog pores and fade red marks due to acne. It is easier and less irritating than using separate BHA and AHA products, and it’s effective. The 1oz bottle costs $12 and shipping was about $7. After 10 weeks of use, I have only used maybe 1/6th of the entire 1oz. bottle so it’s actually an inexpensive product and it does come in a larger size with a cheaper cost per ounce. My only beef is that the 1oz bottle is a cheapy dropper bottle, which is not quite as easy to work with as a pump bottle would be. But overall, there is not much to complain about. This product gets a big 5 stars.

   Ingredients: (8.5% Lactic Acid + 1.5% Salicylic Acid): Purified water, lactic acid, glycerin, salicylic acid, sodium hydroxide, hydroxyethylcellulose, allantoin, polysorbate 20, propylene glycol (and) diazolidinyl urea (and) methylparaben (and) propylparaben, tocophersolan (Vitamin E), fragrance, aloe barbadensis leaf juice (aloe vera) gel.

   Good stuff, honestly, and cheap. I am using it for blackheads, pores/post retin a messed up skin texture, minor spots. And it’s working great. It’s not overnight miracle, there aren’t, but it’s good if used daily. I also discovered Raya products, I love vitamin B day cream, multi fruit daily cream, and blemish control serum, they prevent clogs/blackheads, I use Lacsal twice a day but depending on my skin condition I may use raya products in the morning, please check them out. I highly recommend lure beauty, they have greatest customer service ever and best prices on skinbio products (they always offer 10-20% off coupons or either free or very cheap shipping about 2 dollars) online. I have been looking for non clogging lactic acid treatment for years, I am doing ok with gycolic cleansers, but glycolic leave-on products do not work for me at all, I tried dozens, neostrata, md forte and such, peels, no working… Lactic is a different story. After years of struggling with glycolic/retinol formulations, I got lactic acid peel from ebay, and I was shocked. Just after a few uses, my pores got visibly smaller, skin was plumped, smooth, no peeling, healthy looking, no spots, less blackheads, no breakouts, but you do have to use it regularly, it doesn’t provide permanent results, and nothing does. Anyways I abandoned the peels idea and welcomed retin a, which didn’t do what I was looking for. Glycolic treatments, no matter what brand or formulation, always left me blotchy with huge pores, not pretty skin. Lacsal is a great treatment that will not make you look like that. I have no peeling or redness, it can sting a bit upon first application, but nothing major, it’s not irritating. Very mild fragrance. I don’t like smelly stuff, I get migraines, so I am sure it does not linger. You can detect fragrance only if you stick the pump right into your nose :o), 1-2 inches away – no smell. The gel is runny but I don’t need to use any moisturizer afterward. It’s not sticky either. No adverse results whatsoever. Bright healthy skin. After one and a half year on rx retinoid, and struggling with constant breakouts and enormously enlarged pores, I admit it did work for me for a couple of months (or was it wishful thinking??) and that was it, moisturizer or not, it sucked the life out of my skin, I never peeled from retinoid, it didn’t dry me out, but it made my skin blotchy, dull, an orange peel like, pebbled leather looking, one word ugly, I have never had so many breakouts in my life, I became acne prone, my skin is back to normal now thanks to discontinuing it and starting Lacsal serum. I use it morning and night (as I mentioned above I may use raya b or multi fruit cream some mornings over lacsal serum, raya works like primer, and lacsal at night). I used to break out while on retinoid all the time, I am not acne prone, total of 15-20 spots and old/new pimples were ready to get concealed on my face daily, 1 year of purging? no thanks, I got really tired covering zits in the morning, I blamed everyone and everything, spent loads of money buying new powders, because none would cover that mess, moisturizers, treatments, cleansers, nothing helped, well no retinoid and no zits, how about that?? and I saw the difference just 2-3 days after I stopped using it!! no, they didn’t vanish in two days, but things are healing up faster without retin a. I am back to only translucent powder as my makeup (merle normal luxiva), still covering post retin a acne spots but they are visibly fading every day. If you have very dry skin try Lacsal cream, but serum is not drying either. update, still using it, on my forth bottle, extremely good product. My routine: to treat oily skin/blackheads I take vit B5 daily (I tried many brands, twinlab 500mg is the best), you will see the difference in about 2 months, I also take solaray vit C, zinc, I wash my face with DDF glycolic wash every morning (gentle, makes pores smaller), and Murad clarifying cleanser, Topix or Panoxyl 2.5% BP wash at night, btw Panoxyl is a great cleanser, I was against BP, but I gave it a try, and I love it, I have 2.5%, it also has a lactic acid in it, it doesn’t dry me out because I only use it 2-3 times a week, guess what? shockingly, it is not aging like everyone says!!! I actually look very good, my skin is clear, no zits, no blackheads. I have no breakouts whatsoever even during TTOM. If you don’t want to use anything recommended above and below, just try Panoxyl. Topix glysal (10% is too strong, I will get 5% next time) is great and affordable cleanser as well. I use dermalogica facial brush to cleanse my face in the evening. I use homemade vitamin C toner after cleansing (just clean water and C powder) or dickinson’s witch hazel, and lacsal. Ladies, I don’t need to squeeze clogs every evening anymore, I used to get tons of junk in my pores even though I don’t put a lot of crap on my face, nothing worked to lessen or get them out, only facials, I hated this routine, a couple of days later and all clogged again, not anymore!! no clogs, no breakouts. Hope this helps. update, if you have very oily skin, breakouts, discoloration, please try the following: add 1/4 tsp of niacinamide powder (B3) to 1 oz of your favorite moisturizer for a 4% treatment (I get b3 from lotion crafter), it will control oil (+ extra benefits) better than anything else, non greasy skin = less clogs/blackheads. Try adding a bit less than 1/4 tsp and if you tolerate it well then add the rest, it can be irritating if you put too much, but if you go easy and don’t put enough it won’t work. Good luck
