I received this as a free gift from my derm. I got to pick one out of three being offered, and I think I chose poorly. It claims to contain “the exclusive combination of natural growth factors Kinetin and Zeatin, each of which has been clinically proven to improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin and reduce the visible signs of photodamage. Skin Calming Lotion soothes sensitive skin with unique ingredients and exclusive technologies to gently rejuvenate the skin’s appearance and help improve the visible signs of photoaging. Diminishes redness, itching, stinging common in compromised skin.”
First off, I found this mildly drying. I intended to use this as a moisturizer, but it necessitates the application of another more hydrating product afterwards. But more importantly, I believe it is causing my skin to break out. Zits are a fairly rare occurrence for me, and something is causing little pimples to sprout up in various places on my face, and I suspect this lotion is that something. If it’s not, I’ll update, but so far it’s the primary suspect, and there are no other persons of interest.
(As for its other more dubious claims, I’ve only been using it a few times a week for a couple of weeks, so even if true, I imagine it would take a long time to notice any effects.) The pricetag read $89 for 2.8 oz., so all I can say is, thank god I got it for free.
Update: After a few months, I decided to give this another try, and I don’t think this caused the breakouts I experienced the first time, so that’s good. But I haven’t seen any benefits, so I still wouldn’t repurchase.
