My HG glycolic overnight peel cream had been out of stock for quite some time, think it was going through a re-branding/re-packaging, regardless, it was a royal PITA for me to be without an effective AHA in my life. Since I LOVE the Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum I thought this would be safe (or should I say wise?) choice for me. This was much lighter in consistency than I imagined it would be. It is a milky looking serum delivered by a dropper and housed in a dark glass bottle. I do like the dispenser, all you need is a small drop on the tip on the fingers of one hand, tap together with the other hand and apply to your face. It spreads and sinks into the skin beautifully, does not feel sticky or leave a tacky residue behind.
I use this twice a week at night to aid in the surface layer skin cell turnover rate, alternating with my retinol product twice a week and on the remaining days stick to hydrating products to give my skin a break from the “actives” and balance things out. My skin is so much smoother after using this and serums absorb way better when my skin is properly exfoliated so it is a good option for me when I can’t get my HG overnight peel cream.

Yes, preach! This stuff if you have just hit 30 or you’re early 30, is the business. It’s not like for anything specific, but I can tell you this, your skin will improve drastically. In fact, because you will be layering this under your moisturizer and using other products in tandem with it (maybe) you might think that this product is not an absolute essential. But it definitely is. And you will realize this after discontinuing use. I feel like it boosts the effectiveness of the other products, as well. It just makes your skin look amazing, glowy, and supple. I have very oily skin and I use this ever other night, as directed, and I think that’s perfect for me. If you are trying to target a problem that has flared up, I use it every night until problem has subsided. This is a great product. Very effective. Use @ night, such a vibe.

Ever since I turned 31, about 2 months ago, I’ve been on an anti-aging kick. It started with Roc Deep Wrinkle Filler. Next, I added Rock Deep Wrinkle Night Cream, as well as Roc daily moisturizer with sunblock. Then, I decided to dive into the world of Mad Hippie.
I’ve always been very drawn to their packaging. So I decided to try the MH Vitamin C Serum. After a few days of use, I was hooked! I read over the ingredients for the Vitamin A Serum initially and decided to pass due to the Coconut oil present. My skin usually looks like an oily pit of despair from it. With that being said, the Mad Hippie Exfoliating seemed like the perfect thing. Due to my use of the Roc products, I knew that Lactic acid and glycolic acid was doing my skin a TON of good. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this product has both.
This stuff is pretty potent! From the research I’ve done, it has the highest amount of glycolic acid you can get over the counter. The ingredient list is impeccable. I honestly saw a change overnight. The next morning when I woke up to wash my face, my skin felt smoother. Applying makeup was a dream. The lines around my lips and mouth nearly disappeared (and I’ve had those my whole life, so that was a shock! Even my room mate noticed a big change). In fact, all fine lines and deep lines greatly diminished after only once use. My pores have shrunk. Blackheads are nearly gone. Glowy, baby soft skin. This stuff is a dream!! If you are wondering if you should spend this money on this product, the answer is yes.

I like this is a cocktail of chemical exfoliants. It is mild so even my sensitive skin can get away with using it. It does help to brighten and smooth my skin and I notice a difference in the morning after sleeping in this.

First off, I have only used this for a short amount of time, and it’s been mostly from samples. (I scored a couple generous ones at a local store.) I’m a fan of natural ingredients, and that this promises exfoliation, well, it drew me right in.
I was surprised how quickly I like this product, though. It is steep, at around $34.99 (on the Mad Hippie website, but I bought it at the local business where I sampled it for about $27).
What this exfoliant has done for me in a short amount of time has amazed me.
I have normal 40-something skin with some acne scars and the odd breakout. I’ve been using a Receutics (Rite Aid brand) product loaded with niacinamide for dark spots, and that’s been working great, but I’ve had a slow-healing breakout or reaction of some sort (that I sometimes fiddle with, which of course slows the healing even more) and the skin is raised and dry and it’s been driving me nuts. I’ve tried rosehip oil, band-aids, coconut oil, ignoring it, Neosporin, aloe vera gel, and so on. Nothing has helped.
Then I tried this, slathering it on one night a few hours before bed. (It’s a mild to unscented gel-like formula that stings lightly for a few seconds, and only sometimes it stings, and it absorbs or sets fast so my face doesn’t feel coated or sticky.) Then right before bed I applied a bit more. I did it again in the morning, and applied a couple more times throughout the day to that bad spot. And in just a couple days that area looked so much better and the skin was smoothing out. The rest of my face looks smoother, too, with just a touch more glow, but I am loving that this patchy, raised, irritated spot was finally less obvious and felt better, too.
After the sample ran out, my skin was good for a few days, but not all healed, so I bought the product. As for the packaging, it’s housed in a dark glass tube with a dropper, so I like the dark glass and the application method, so it won’t get contaminated.
I started using it and overnight I noticed some improvement. The Mad Hippie website suggests using this at night, and early on something like every other night as your skin adjusts, but I went a bit wild with it, applying a bit in the afternoon and dabbing it on trouble spots now and then. It already looks better again, so I plan to use this nightly and hopefully watch my skin heal and get exfoliated at the same time.
I honestly don’t know what is in this stuff that’s so magical for me, but I’m amazed at how well it does work for me.

This exfoliator is gentle, has a nice, subtle smell that isn’t overpowering or unpleasant, and has completely rid me of my perpetual bits of dry skin. It sinks into the skin very quickly I’ve found, so I went from 2 drops to 3 in order to give me enough product to distribute over my face and under my chin evenly. It doesn’t glide on quite like the Vitamin C serum, but it does have a smooth consistency and doesn’t leave a film behind. I’ve only ever noticed a very slight and brief stinging from using this, and not every time. It’s gone within seconds. As far as fine lines/wrinkles go, I really only have very fine lines at the corners of my mouth, and a bit more noticeable ones on my forehead, which is the area I’d be most focused on. As of yet, I can’t quite tell if I’ve noticed an improvement, but I think I will just need to use the product(s) longer in order to see a result like that.
I love the dropper bottles. They’re glass, which is cool, and I love the droppers themselves. I just find them to be fun to use! Lol.
I had stopped wearing foundation because of the bits of dry skin, which caused me to stop wearing makeup altogether. It was a hobby of mine and I missed it. Now I can do it again without worrying about the foundation accentuating the dry skin. I hated that so much.
I’ve removed a lippie for price because $34.99 USD can feel like a lot to some of us, but it works so well and is so gentle and smooth that it’s worth it. I’ve also been using the 3 drops for the majority of the time I’ve had this product (so about two months now), and it looks like I’ve never used any at all. 😀

I think Mad Hippie is an excellent brand with great product offerings but unfortunately this serum did not work for me. I saw very little change in my hyperpigmentation or an substantial improvement in my skin texture. It is a light serum that spreads easily and absorbs quickly. It has good ingredients but unfortunately they were not strong enough to tackle my skin woes.

I only use this because of the actives- its good for your skin at night to put on after washing your face. However- I don’t notice and exfoliation. My nose skin has been getting dry, so I gently removed the dead skin with a muslim cloth then put the exfoliating serum on, and no moisturizer. The next morning I woke up and my skin was just as dry as normal.
Spreads easy, has no adverse reactions. You cannot use it in the morning as it makes your skin sensitive to sunlight. Does not rejuvenate skin, but it does preserve it.

This is a great mild chemical exfoliator that can be used overnight to improve the turnover of cells and the overall texture of the skin. I like how it is mild, so it does not cause any irritation or redness when I use it. It can be used under moisturizers without a problem, but I usually give it a couple minutes before I apply anything over it. This product boasts a host of actives that are very effective. The best part of this product is the price, which is modest when you consider the ingredients and efficacy of the product. I will continue to purchase this product.
