Did not work for a whole month!!!

This is a solid serum. It has nice gel texture that is not sticky and is quickly absorbed by the skin. I found it extremely moisturizing and calming. My skin was noticeably brighter and more radiant after using this serum but it did not have a huge effect on existing dark spots. It comes in a two once bottle but it is quite pricey.

This product has been recently reformulated by Derma E. This is the updated ingredients list: Purified Water (Aqua), Propanediol (Zemea®), Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C, Stay-C® 50), Lilium Candidum (Madonna Lily) Leaf Cell Extract, Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, Alpha-Arbutin, Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract* (.4%), Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract, Caffeine, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Prunus Persica (Peach Seed) Kernel Extract, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Salix Alba (White Willow) Bark Extract, Epilobium Angustifolium (Canadian Willowherb™) Extract, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Essential Oil, Carbomer, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
Due to an unfortunate encounter with Tosowoong Propolis Brightening Essence my skin broke out badly in cystic acne. Once I got the acne under control I was left with a whole bunch of PIH. I wanted it gone ASAP, and though I already use active that would help fade it (azelaic acid, Hylamide c25 Booster), but I wanted more, so I started hunting for a serum or cream that had niacinamide and licorice high up the ingredients list. And I found some that were hideously expensive. Frankly I was almost desperate enough to pay $150 for Sulwhasoo’s fancy pants products, but thankfully I am cheap. And I found this product after much googling, so when it came down to spending $150 or $15 I decided to try the Derma E first. If nothing else it would be hydrating with all that niacinamide in it. I did have a bit of a trick fitting this into my routine since it didn’t play well with the serums I use in the morning, but it’s been perfect at night, under my Curology cream.
The immediate results I saw were pretty basic: hydrated and soothed skin, which is what I’d expect given the ingredients list. I do think it also helped minimize my TTOTM acne this cycle, which was a nice bonus, but my skin has always responded well to niacinamide in that regard. It took longer to see any “brightening”, but after about a month’s worth of nightly use I can say my PIH has faded dramatically. I do still have some remaining, but I would say it’s enough 80% faded. Of course the other products in my routine had something to do with that, but I have no doubt it faded faster with the inclusion of this product.

I’ve been using this now for 2 months, and I think I can safely say it isn’t doing anything at all. It feels ok going on, but doesn’t seem to add any moisture, and it definitely isn’t lightening anything else up. The only good point about it is that it doesn’t break me out (and most things do).

For the past 10-11 weeks I have been using this each morning as part of my daily skin care routine. I apply after a BHA toner… and before moisturizer. The product description states “Day or night, this intensive brightening serum targets uneven pigmentation and age damage for a visibly brighter, healthier complexion.” I have only a very small amount of very fine lines so my primary motivator/expectation was a lightening of hyperpigmentation (dark) spots from previous acne breakouts.
After nearly 3 months I felt ready to write a review and confidently state I don’t see any change at all. Maybe it’s not so good for older marks but I have one dark mark that came about just a couple/three weeks before starting daily use of Derma E Evenly Radiant Brightening Serum – it’s still there 3 months later! That tells me this product isn’t doing anything for it.
I won’t repurchase this. In fact, I probably will toss the rest of the bottle and move on to something else.
I do have three favorite things about this product… 1) it does not make my oily t-zone any more oily… 2) it does not leave my face feeling sticky or coated or anything… 3) I love the pump dispenser. A pump is very hygienic and this one easily and consistently dispenses the right amount.
