One of the very few treatment products I’ve used that actually gave me significant, visible results. I had a lot of inadvertent sun damage as a kid which is just now coming to the surface in the form of dark spots and discoloration. After three months of using this serum, most of the palest spots are completely gone, and the darkest spots are significantly lighter. In addition some minor surface lines have been diminished.
To avoid peeling I started out slow using 2x week mornings only, then slowly built up more frequency. I’d let the serum set for a few minutes and then applied my regular sunscreen moisturizer (LRP Hydraphase UV canadian verision with Mexoryl) on top. I did go through a purging phase with occasional tiny whiteheads and some minor surface peeling, but it was not as bad as I anticipated and only lasted a few weeks. Once that was over, now each time I apply the serum my skin literally glows all day. As others have mentioned, I have noticed a certain whiteness/paleness to my face but that is a small price to pay for the great results, and is easily remedied with a little bronzer.
Vitamin C serum is light- and air-sensitive so keep tightly capped and store in a cool, dark place (like an under-sink cabinet). The serum will start turning yellow and lose effectiveness with exposure, so discard once the formula gets dark to prevent any adverse effects.
As a maintenance routine I take a month or two off between bottles and this seems to work well, the dark areas do not come back provided that you religiously use sunscreen every day. Thankfully the purging phase did not start again even after a few months off. FYI I have dry skin and use the Normal To Dry version. Worth trying!

I got a full size of this serum in the Normal to Oily formula from the Obagi rep that comes to our office. I am so excited to finally get to try this. I just applied half a dropper full after I cleansed and toned and I have to say, it’s really burning! I’m not the type if girl who will wash it off just because of a little stinging, but if this doesn’t subside in 10 more minutes, I’ll splash my face with water. I will update my review when I’ve been using this long enough to see any results.

I’m trying not to cry!! My dermatologist recommended this product so I purchased it… Omg I’ve only used it twice and it sucks!! My face feels like it’s on fire and when I washed it off my face looks like plastic!! It ate through my skin and I have cuts all over my face!!! I cant make Any facial expressions or my face will break into slices which are similar to paper cuts!! Ive put vasaline all over my face so i can eat… I dont know what to do!! It’s Friday night and I hope my dr. Office is open tomorrow morning.. Monday is a holiday!!
