I received a sample tube of this serum and tried it only a couple of times.
Read online that it is an anti-aging product aimed at mature skin, so did not fit into the category of my skincare needs (combination skin, looking to even tone and fade old scars).
The first thing I noticed was the smell- herbal and a bit pungent..reminded me of rotting plants. Did not care for it.
The consistency of the serum is that of a watery oil. Soaks into skin a bit, but oily residue remains sitting atop skin, even hours after application. I did not feel like I needed moisturizer over it.
I can picture this product working for people with very dry skin, and/or mature skin which needs the extra hydration. Was simply incompatible with my skin type.

This product retails at 43 pounds in the UK, which actually works out quite well IF you find it works for you, as one bottle lasts me up to two years as I only use it when my skin really needs it. Some users report finding it difficult to apply less than a couple of drops to their entire face – I don’t, but then I guess if your skin is particularly dry this might be a problem. I find warming it in my hand slightly by rubbing between the palms, then smoothing it all over my face the best way to apply it, but I have recently started adding mine to my usual serum which I use on a night – this makes applying it really easy. I then layer it with my usual moisturiser – no need for a night cream when you use this oil, unless your skin really needs it. UPDATE: I never used to get any reaction – my skin will always react if ingredients aren’t top notch and because I very occasionally get contact dermatitis (and rosacea) this used to be one of the few products I could safely use whenever my skin was recovering but unfortunately my skin now reacts to it. It’s a shame as it smells luxurious too. I’m now using cold pressed pure argan oil which I alternate with rosehip seed oil and these both work just as well on my skin.

Not impressed with this one. I have bought a 15ml bottle + i had 5ml as i gift with the purchase. Unfortunately it did nothing for me, not even moisturizing enough. I won’t repurchase.

At last, this is something that has improved my skin all around tremendously like no other skin care brand or product ever can. I have tried all Decleor Aromessence oils except the one for oily skin (Ylang Ylang), they are all excellent and this Iris and Neroli oil are my favourite of all.
I have used many all natural or organic skin care and body care brands for the last 5-6 years, like Dr. Hauschka, Perfect Portion, Jurlique, Perfect, Patyka, Weleda etc… I deeply appreciate and love them individually, but by far, speaking of effectiveness on improving facial skin tone and texture, Decleor Aromessence line is the winner! And Weleda as my favourite for body care.
Personally, I do not know if this one works well on reducing wrinkles or expression lines because I have none. But it does even out and brighten up my overall complexion, it invisiblizes the pores on my nose completely, which amazes me most. It reduces puffyness completely, such as the area around my eyes during mensturation cycle. It refines the texture of my skin so well and so efficiently that the result is noticeable overnight after the first application. I have no more dark-circles as well. I’m really hooked to this now. It truly can live up to the name “anti-aging”.
These days, applying foundation and makeup became so much easier and straight-forward, because I no longer need to use concealer and skin-tone correctors to hide my little imperfections like dry patches, rashes, flaky skin, dark circles and such, and then worried about being too heavy-handed. All these are gone without a trace. I can also go out bare-faced with full confidence, this is a huge plus.
I’m lucky enough to get myself a full salon size bottle of this iris oil, it’s 50 ml, for $45 USD, still cheaper than 30ml in regular package in stores. Will definitely and happily repurchase it again.

I bought this from Sephora when it was on sale. So the price was not bad. It feels nice on the skin. Does not break me out. However when it was cold and dry, this is not moisturising enough. I’m not a fan of the smell either. I’ll use it up but won’t buy again.

I have very dry skin and no matter how much moisturizer I’d wear at night, I’d always wake up to dry, rough, dehydrated skin in the morning that just looked lackluster and drained. I put about 6 drops on a damp face in the evening and then moisturizer and it’s the only thing that makes my skin still feel soft and hydrated in the morning when I wake up. I don’t know that it does anything anti-aging or firms anything. But it’s wonderful for hydration! I realized that I needed a treatment oil to combat my dry dry dry skin and this really does the trick!

This is something that actually works for my tired old skin. It’s probably a frivolous expense in terms of adding moisture but it smells great, feels good and softens up my crusty exterior. I love it.

This product is lovely, I have very very dry skin and this reallly helps and i have had many comments that my skin is glowing. I have also tried the rose oil but much prefer this as it really plumps my skin up and make me look so fresh and glowy. I can’t comment on the anti ageing effects as I am in my early twenties, but this is one of the nicest products i have used for a long time. One lippie goes off because of the price as it is nearly 50 pounds ouch!!

I use this oil almost every evening after cleansing my face. I let it sink in my skin really well before I apply my night moisturizer (clarins, liz earle,…)
You need to heat the oil (only a few drops are enough) between your fingers before massaging it in your skin and it feels like a salon treatment…… I love it. the scent is quite strong (lavender..) but the aroma relaxes you even more. I have the bottle now for 2 months, and I did not even use 1/3 of it, it will last me well into 2007, so the heavy price tag is well worth it.
One lippie of for the packaging, it looks nice, like a cute perfume bottle, but an more practical dispenser would be more useful

I tried the Iris oil together with the Nightbalm for a few months now and I must say that it really improved my skin. In the morning it feels so smooth and soft. It looks like a tiny bottle but it lasts for at least 3-4 months or even longer if you don’t use too much. This really is my HG treatment. It’s most suitable for fall and wintertime even though I used it all summer. Haven’t had such a good product years. I will certainly buy it again.
