I have been combating acne for 20 years+. With 2 courses of accutane 10+ years ago which clear 99% of my acne, and not one cystic acne since ( touch wood). However, I still do have occasional small acne , nothing big or cystic. I have been using 10% BP cream (oxy) to treat them (rub small amount right at it, then leave a thick mask-like amount right on top of it for as long as I could, usually overnight). Usually they are gone when I wake up. However I don’t wanner take a chance ( especially some acne will leave me red marks which take months , if not years , to disappear, the faster and quicker the acne is treated the better).
During daytime, I need something clear and I got this. I did the same, rub a small amount on the acne. Then cover the acne with as much as this gel can without causing any disturbance to my makeup. Then make up as usual.
However, with only 5% and not 10%, this is noticeable less effective. I am going to get a 10% gel.
With the leftover gel, I mix it with toner ( 1 part gel 4 part toner) and pat on the whole face to disinfect , kill the bacteria , even on no acne days as, a preventive measure. Especially on days pre and during period.
I am 40+ now, and I wish to tell my 20 years old self ( and thus some of you out there): Go to maximum strength 10% and not 5% and kill it asap. The longer it is there, the longer the inflammation occurs, the more damage to your skin is done ( unsightly leftover redness, darkness which take months to disappear, and sometimes permanent scars ). Forget about the nonsense that 10% is drier than 5% which cause some minor skin peel. That side effect is so minor, superficial ,compares to a full blown acne and its aftermath.
And if you have pesistent cystic acne, go see Dermotologist for accutance please. Those cystic one will left you with ice pick scars and other scars, which even laser is not effective. I am left with 8 scars on each of my cheek to this day from those cystic and particularly bad serious acnes popped up during my pre-accutane days (in my 20s). Even laser treatment wouldn’t help. The older I am, the more collagen is loss, the more apparent those scars are , compare to when I was 30+.

Bought this product based on the best rating on beautytopia, only to find out that it does nothing for my skin. It didn’t break me out, so that’s a definite plus, but it didn’t change anything and was a pain to open the tube. I don’t think that the product is bad, I just don’t think that benzyl peroxide has any effect on my skin. If benzyl peroxide works on your skin, this is a great option (it didn’t irritate my extremely sensitive skin) albeit pricey.

I’ve tried many different spot treatments in my time, and this gel is not the best. I usually have a better result with benzoyl peroxide, but I didn’t see those kind of results with this. Maybe the concentration is too low? I’m not sure. Either way, I was not very impressed with this. I gave it 2 lippies because at least it didn’t make my skin worse.

I have skin that rarely breaks out; I run combination to dry mostly. Once every few years I will get cystic acne due to stress, and haven’t used anything that works quite as well. I have been nursing a sample tube since the summer for very occasional breakouts. I couldn’t find it to treat the latest few blemishes- one of which was cystic- so I tried a couple OTC methods. Not only did it hey do nothing to reduce the size or inflammation, they tore up my skin badly. I finally dug it up, thankfully. This treatment is much kinder to my skin and heals blemishes in record time. Once I use this tube up I will buy the full size so I never have to resort to caustic measures again, if you have very sensitive skin and acne, you may find this much gentler than harsh BP products. It is ironic that the 3 step skincare is too rough for my complexion, but the acne treatment is great. Try a sample first ( cosmetic counters are usually happy to do this) first if you’re unsure how it will react with your skin.

Great if you are rich and get only one pimple at a time. Best spot treatment however its not for someone with acne. You would have to buy a tube a week.

Love this stuff! I have combination-dry skin which doesn’t break out all that often, but when I do, I just dab some of this stuff on my face and over a couple of days, the pimple dries right up. I have turned my husband onto this stuff, and he also uses it for any of his breakouts. This stuff is great and I always have a tube of it around in my house for facial emergencies. The only con I have noticed is that if I have a particularly tough-to-dry-out pimple, sometimes it can dry out the skin around the pimple, but I have to have used the product in the same area for 4-5+ days.

If an acne treatment could walk on water, this would be it. This stuff seriously clears up blemishes and clears up blackheads. No scent to irritate. It is twice as strong as the acne solutions lotion, but I use it the same way, smearing it all over my face. I makes the skin look porcelan the next day. I do sometimes use some cream or lotion under it as it can be a little drying, and I would not use it day after day in a row, skip every third day or so. And I only use it at night. But this stuff starts clearing up those zits right away and in two to three days they are gone.

I received this product as a free promotion and was really excited to try it. At first, it was fine and I didn’t really notice any changes in my skin at all. But, slowly, my forehead started to itch and get little bumps on it. Then, my cheeks and chin turned beet-red and got really hot. The skin in those areas got all dried out and my face was swollen (it still is swollen, and dry actually).
Obviously, I had an allergic reaction to the BP, which I wasn’t expecting, as I’ve used products with BP before. On top of the reaction, the pimples I was trying to treat are still there, and more have sprouted up next to them.
This product didn’t work for me, and I’d rather just have to deal with the pimples than with this red mess all over my face. Beware if you have skin allergies, or possible if you don’t have issues with oily skin, which may withstand the dry-ness better.

So far, I’m really liking this product. I was looking for a bp product to use for occasional breakouts post Accutane treatment. Usually bp products are think, white, sticky, or smell bad. This product goes on smoothly, and I can’t even feel it’s on after I apply it. Foundation wears nicely over it. As far as pimple treatment, it seems to reduce healing time. They are smaller and not irritated. This also doesn’t dry out my skin like other bp products have in the past which have caused my skin to be red and peel and even harder to cover! None of that with this product. Also, according to Paula b., this product also contains effective anti inflammatory ingredients. It works. Definitely worth a try.14.50 for a small tube that will last a long time.

Best BP lotion I’ve used. The consistency is so creamy and easily blends in unlike other drugstore lotions. The price is great for what you get. If you live near a CCO then you could get it for like $10 which is fantastic!
