Like other reviewers, i have tried a number of niacinamide products and never saw any benefits – in fact, I thought it was an ingredient that was causing clogged pores. But reading Rayoflight’s review pushed me over the edge, and honestly it’s one of the best things I’ve done for my skin in a very very long time. My skin now has that radiance & sheen that I thought was possible only with skillfully applied makeup. It has also made my skin more resilient as I’ve transitioned to a higher strength of tret. I use it once a day in the mornings, straight on my skin post-cleansing – I don’t add it to any products, but almost as a serum.
This is an absolutely brilliant product that I have since re-purchased numerous times (waiting for sales always, as I do think the price is excessive for something that isn’t a complex formulation). One lippie off for price and for the fact that I wish she would offer a large size as all of those little bottles going into the recycling is driving me crazy.

I wish there were a “Maybe” option for the question “Would you buy it again?” because I’m not entirely sure this is doing much. I do know it isn’t hurting, as my skin has been looking great lately but I’ve also been doing a few other beneficial things so you never know what’s responsible.
Here’s what I like about it:
– moisturizer doesn’t ball up on top of it, makeup sits well on it
– runny texture mixes easily, not greasy
– no acne, irritation
– possible reduction in redness/blotchiness
– glass bottle for product stability
– love the fact that this can be added to a serum I already use (in my case, PC Omega serum)
Here are the negatives:
– dropper idea is just ridiculous. Did they not think this through/test it out? So if I understand correctly, I am supposed to pump my everyday serum into the palm of my left hand, then use my right hand to unscrew the dropper top of this product and squeeze 2 drops into my left palm, then mix it together with my right hand (after putting the dropper back onto the bottle), and then apply? Newsflash: it’s impossible to unscrew the top with only one hand. And it’s completely unnatural for me to pump an already runny serum into the palm of my hand, and this product only makes it runnier. While mixing the two together, you end up losing about half of the tiny amount of product in your hand. This makes no sense. I have tried several different ways of applying this (first apply serum, then layer a few drops of this on top) and it always wastes product, as it is very runny and drips down your hand.
– Expensive for a small amount of product
– Packaging seems to be designed for online sales only – for instore purchase it’s a joke. Says nothing about exactly what this is meant to do and who it’s intended for (while I was looking at it in the store, I had to look up the product on the website to learn about it). They need to fix this issue if they plan to continue to sell in b+m stores.

I added this to my skincare routine and have repurchased multiple times. I have dry skin with a *very* sensitive under eye area and mild rosacea on my cheeks, nose, and chin.
It is thin, watery, and odorless. I apply one of two ways. Often I put one drop on my finger tip and apply to one under eye and cheek, repeat with the other side, another drop on each jaw line and under, and a drop or two on my neck and decolletage.
Or I mix 5 or 6 drops with a couple other Paula’s Choice Boosters and my daily serum – I do this cupping the palm of my hand, mixing them all together. I apply first by finger tips to each under eye and cheek, spreading well in my face, then I rub my hands together and using both hands apply to my neck and decolletage.
This is an integral part of my daily routine. I think it keeps my skin smooth and helps halt the encroachment of wrinkles.

I will buy as an alternative to the ordinary nacinlamide solution. For the price, which is 3x the price for the ordinary. It’s probably more worth it to buy the ordinary

An amazing treatment. After cleansing, put a few drops of serum in your hand,
add a few drops of this, blend over face and neck. It shrinks pores so your face looks porcelain.
Well worth the money!

I’m 65 and still struggle with sensitive oily skin, mild acne, and bad reactions to many products . These reactions can take the form of either the breakout, or the rosacea flare, variety. Paula’s 2% BHA liquid was the first product that really helped my clogged pores — a huge game changer. So I’ve tried a lot of her products over the years, but I can’t use many of them. (I think I started having big problems when silicones came on the scene.) Okay, this one seems to be a winner. So far, I can use it without breaking out, and it does seem to be beneficial in terms of improving skin texture and fading spots. It’s watery, feels like nothing on, and for that reason alone I prefer it to The Ordinary’s Niacinamide and Zinc.

I’ve rebought this booster a few times. I mix it with a moisturizer, because applying it straight on the skin leaves it feeling a little burning and tight. I do see a difference when I use it, that day and a day or so after. Pores are a little smaller, overall my skin looks a little brighter. The only downside is the dropper packaging, though I believe it may have been replaced recently. Because the serum is so runny, squirting a little bit out from the dropper leads it to run everywhere, and meanwhile the bottle is open and prone to spilling over if you’re clumsy (like me). But that’s a small complaint. Overall I think it’s a good product at a decent price.

Dare I say: game changer? Having used so many product over the years (from Olay to The Ordinary) with niacinamide in them and not having experienced the many benefits of niacinamide (pores, texture, moisture, skin tone), I think calling this Booster a game-changer is fair. Within a couple days of using 4-6 drops, usually 2x a day, my skin started to look more even, somewhat plumper and maybe a bit more dewy (‘a slight sheen’ would probably be the best description), and over the course of few weeks the texture and pores started to look more refined. Not major like lasered into porcelain smoothness, but noticeable anyway. Not sure all of the results can be attributed to just niacinamide, there’s an array of soothing ingredients and antioxidants in there that could be contributing (ascorbyl glucoside to more even skin tone, acetyl glucosamine and green tea polyphenols to more refined texture/pores and so on), but the overall result satisfies me beyond my wildest dreams of what a topical product can deliver. No negative side-effects (no irritation, no redness, no clogged pores, no breakouts (niacinamide is supposed to decrease breakouts, but I can’t comment on that, I’m on tretinoin and benzoyl peroxide and those two keep my skin clear without or without B3) and I ordered back-up bottle even though I’m only half-way through the current one.

I have such a hard time rating a product that doesn’t work for me solely because my skin is sensitive. Whenever I use this product, my skin itches. I only have used it one day at a time (i.e., never multiple days in a row) because of this reaction. I just confirmed that I react to niacinamide by looking at some other products that I acted to, and, yep, they had niacinamide high on the ingredients list. Thus, I can’t really comment on how well the product works because I can’t use it consistently. It feels weightless on, though, and the container makes it easy to dispense the amount desired.

So I’m 54 years old. What that means is that I’ve tried LOTS of products in my life and also that I have a realistic view of how much any one product is going to do to hold off the inevitable result of living & breathing for over half a century. I had never tried anything from the PC line before, however. Since I have been paying some attention to the Beautypedia reviews, I thought I’d actually try a couple of Paula’s products a couple of months ago when I saw they were on sale. I have to say that this one is definitely worth the full price! It somehow makes my skin act younger. I did see a slight reduction in pore size (though nothing miraculous on my life-long cratered nose????), but more significantly I noticed a definite improvement in texture and in my skin’s ability to retain moisture. I suppose this is due to an improved barrier function since it does not feel tacky or anything like that. It just feels incredibly soft & somewhat plumped. It has also simplified my routine because I am actually able to get by without washing my face in the morning, which never seemed to work for me before (and probably helps keep further drying away). So I wash my face at night with the new Almay cleanser/makeup remover, then apply 3 drops of this, straight, directly to my face & neck, including around my eyes, just patting it on with my hands. I then pat 4 drops of plain avocado oil over that & finish with a bit of the cheapo CeraVe eye cream. In the morning I use the CeraVe day cream that has retinol & zinc sunscreen in it plus a bit more eye cream and I’m ready to go. That’s it. Easy-peasy. Very happy I discovered this product!
