My initial reaction when I dispensed the product onto my finger was “ew.” The product was an off-white, beige color with a somewhat runny consistency. The first time I used it, it stung my skin a little, but it went away quickly. I’ve experienced this with other eye creams before, usually sporadically during the first few times of testing a new product. For me, it’s not painful and I do get a little nervous & hesitant to test further, but I only test a small section of one eye first. As long as swelling, redness, or itching doesn’t occur or it doesn’t get infected, I will continue to test the product. Some people scream and shout about it like “ZOMGTHISSTUNGIHATEITTHISISTHEWORST” after the first application. That seems a bit dramatic.
A little does go a long way with this serum. It is fairly decent in hydration, but not as good as my favorite Korean brand – Sulwhasoo. There was some random pilling that happened on certain days when I gently rubbed my skin in the area, but it could be due to a combination of other products together. Unfortunately, there is alcohol in the ingredients list so that’s a turn-off for me. I still haven’t figured out what my skin reacts to specifically, since my skin generally doesn’t react negatively to many products, but all the products I’ve had bad reactions to did contain some form of alcohol.
I am not one to waste products, even if it’s not the greatest… however, I’ve stopped using this after a week because it really bored me. I’m tempted to throw it out & move on, but the Chinese in me won’t let that happen. It’s $65/0.5oz, so I shouldn’t be wasting a “quality” sample, even though the sample was free! If someone gave this to me as a gift, hopefully there will be a gift receipt so I can exchange it for something else at the store.

I got a deluxe sample of this from Sephora and have been using it for the last couple of weeks at night to see if I enjoy it. I love the serum texture and how lightly it applies, but clearly this is not enough to moisturize my undereye area. I use the Vichy ProEven eye cream over top to moisture and that seems to be a good combination. As far as results go, I think it is too early to tell with this deluxe sample and I may purchase the (very expensive) full-sized product to see how that works out. On a brighter note, there was no irritation like I have experienced with some products. For the moment, I am putting three lippies until I can investigate further.

I love this. Over the years I’ve never really paid much attention to skin care but now that I’m getting older I have come to realize the importance. I love this eye serum. My skin reacts well to vitamin C. I have noticed less wrinkles around my eyes. I recently lost 50 lbs and I was worried about my face looking tired or wrinkly but thanks to my Philosophy skin care routine, I don’t have any problems.

I tried this out as a deluxe sample and had to get the full size. This is formulated with non-irritating vitamin C and other repairing enzymes. The packaging is nice and luxe feeling, its metal incasing a glass airless container. It does an amazing job as brightening, firming, smoothing out my eye area. I use it day and night with no sensitivity issues. Its an anti aging treatment, and isn’t really meant to hydrate. I layer Clinique all about eyes rich on top of it at night for that. I never thought eye serums were nessaray until now!

Got a large sample from Skinstore — so have been able to use it daily for 2 wks.
This serum does smooth, somewhat brighten and lighten the skin under my eyes (which is not very dark or too crepey/wrinkly).
It’s not meant to be a moisturizer … in fact, there is a slight drying quality to the serum, so a moisturizer on top is a must.
As soon as I stopped using it, the eye area returned to what it was. No long-lasting benefit except what you see when you are using it … which is probably good enough for most people.
The effect it gives is very much like Yves St. Laurent’s Top Secrets Wake-Up Eye Care (the rollerball — this is a new name for a product that has been around for awhile).
Because the YSL seems to be less drying (but still has the brightening/smoothing effect) — I’ll stick with it.
