This is an odd product with consistency of rich eye balm.
I does not contain any turbo ingredients like retinol nor peptides, thus the effects are not spectacular.
When using it, you have to bear in mind the holistic Hauschka’s philosophy to avoid using anything fatty on you face for night. Thus this cream is only meant to be used as a day cream (as any other Hauschkas creams).
I got mine jar and used it almost for a whole year, and then used remainings as a lip and nail balm (as I was worried the cream could gone sour, thus too risky to use for eye area).
All you need is a tiny amount of the product to pat under you eyes. Surprisingly this stuff works 😉 I have no idea what is the secret ingredient behind it, but my crow’s feet were less prominent and the crepey skin under my eyes was gone. Moreover the whole area brightened and looked more relaxed and rested.
If you use too much, then your make up could melt – just to warn you.
Overall I’m not sure if I would buy this again, as with time I moved to more high-tech products. But on the other side I remember, that when I had been using the Hauschka products, my skin was in better condition (but it could be the case I was younger ;)).
Currently I’m switching back to his products, as I am disappointed with pricey, super-tech products or luxury products in my bathroom.
I replaced creme de la mer with Hauschka rose cream (muuuuch better and cheaper), mascara with Hauschka volume mascara and my skin is showing the results 😉

The only thing I could recommend this for is a very emollient base for undereye concealer. Sometimes concealers are drying, so putting something really emollient underneath helps blend out the pigments well. This eye balm is great for that. But, for the price, one could use so many other things for that purpose…
As far as fine lines (my primary issue), this did nothing. It smelled good, though. It didn’t soften my fine lines, it didn’t reduce darkness, it didn’t even really help with hydration the next day. I found this to be a very disappointing use of my funds.
If you want an eye cream that actually helps with fine lines and undereye darkness, find an undereye cream with some kind of retinol in it (there are various kinds) and use it a few times a week.

Over the years, products I’ve used under the eyes for plumping out fine lines and chasing off crepeiness have gone from working so well to barely working–no reformulations, just not “enough” for that area anymore. Gotta break out the big guns. I think I’ve found a great way to use this product, instead of it being just a straight-up eye cream.
I’ve always used the combo of an oil and a cream layered. Even if the area looked all dewy and moisturized shortly after putting the products on, after a night of sleep or hours of being out in dry/winter air, the area might looked parched, like those moisture-filled products had just evaporated.
I can’t use a mineral-oil/petrolatum/Vaseline barrier-type product on my face because those break me out if they migrate. Tried some other barrier-type products like Egyptian Magic and would wake up with WORSE creases there from side-sleeping. My previous HG barrier (Kiehl’s Imperiale Repairateur) was DC’ed.
Thanks to a lovely MUAers review here who compared this product to that, happy to say I have found a product that works! Some might use this product solely as an eye cream, but looking at the ingredients and having used it, I don’t think it’s moisture-filled enough or that the consistency is such to plump out fine lines. So I’m using it as a barrier OVER my normal eye cream with great results.
It’s pricey for a tiny container–over $50 at Whole Foods, about $40 on Amazon, $28-ish on eBay–but reviewers say it lasts forever. I just take a smidgen and pat pat pat it over my eye cream once it’s set in. Can sleep on my side smooshing my cheek and wake up, and the area is still dewy and springy, not all dry and creased!
Faint botanical scent, nothing perfumey. I can be prone to irritation from botanical products, but none here. This is not a smooth, Vaseline-feel consistency like the Kiehl’s was. Can be a bit like a harder lip balm in a cold room, but softens nicely when it’s warmer. I don’t rub it on bc it’s “firm” enough that it might smear the underlying product off with it, so I just pat it on. Can be a bit shiny when you first put it on, so if I want to keep it on for day use, I pat it on, then a min or so later, I use a couple of fingers to pat the finish so it’s more matte but still on there.
YAY.
(BTW, I’m using either Vichy LiftActiv Nuit or Vichy Neovadiol Nuit around the eyes, since both are great plumpers. Vichy Neovadiol Magistral Elixir or Silkia camellia oil as the oil–under or over the eye cream both work the same for me. Neither is thick enough to be a real barrier.)

This has a lovely citrus smell, and it really does its job of hydrating the eye area! I actually use this over the Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Eye Cream both to seal in moisture, but also because my concealer glides on better. It is a bit slick, and will stay so, so a little goes a long way, and I do need to cover it up with powder to take off the shine. Using both of these eye creams together, my eye area is impossibly soft and moisturized!

On the bright side, this eye balm does seem to be hydrating. And it’s got a lovely smell.
On the down side, it’s just too thick and shiny; not matter how little of it I put under my eyes, the balm does not absorb and the shiny look stays, which does not work all that great under makeup. I’m also not a fan of the packaging which requires you to dip your fingers into the pot every time.
Worst of all, this eye balm actually irritated my under-eye area. I’ve never known that area to be sensitive–I’ve tried out tons of eye creams over the years with no problem, including Dr Hauschka’s own day cream. But this balm gave me irritated-looking bumps under my eyes. I stop using it, they go away. I start again, they come back. So it’s definitely the product. Not what I was hoping for, I will admit…
I’ve seen another reviewer say that they’ve repurposed this balm as a cuticle treatment, and, hey, there’s an idea! I should try that.

This is the best eye cream ever. It can be a little too shiny to wear on its own outside, but I like to use it when I’m at home and for the night time. It’s free of nasty preservatives.
If I need to use it through the day, I just use less of it under my makeup so the shine doesn’t show.
Highly recommended.

As some reviewers described, this does look/feel like a lip balm – a hard waxy lip balm with a wonderful smell. When applied to the eye area, this eye balm moistures the delicate skin really really well. HOwever, i find it never get absorbed into the skin, not even after hours. Because of this, this balm will keep the skin well moisturized ( works a lot better than many $100+ eye creams). However, it also makes your undereye area look shiny, and does not work well with makeups. For this reason, I use it mainly as a night cream, or when i know i am going to stay home without any makeups.

I rated this as expensive, but in reality I got it at work for 49 cents on staff super clearance (I work at a drugstore) so I can hardly complain about the price. I think when my pot runs out in going to have to splurge to get another, because this stuff is amazing! I have had a break out of psoriasis on my right eyelid every winter for years, and nothing makes it go away except time. That was until I tried this! I just picked it up because it was there really, nothing I thought I needed or wanted. But after only 4 days use my eye is only a little dry, not the red scaly mess it was last week. It’s so unbelievable I could cry, I have tried SO MANY creams and lotions and medications for my psoriasis, and having no success and a scaly red face gets depressing. The secret is in the rich emollient wax balm, which protects and soothes the eye area immensely. Much better than a water based cream! If this fixed my dark circles too, well, it would be my miracle. I’ll update if I see a change, but even so this gets a top rating from me!

Great protective balm for moisturizing in the winter and reducing wrinkles. This eye balm has a thick balm texture that doesn’t absorb very easily making it not totally hassle-free (reason why I took out one star). But it really does a wonderful job at moisturizing and protecting my delicate eye area during the cold NYC windy winter months. I have a good impression of this product and am using the second pot. I bought it in Germany at the price of 21Euros so price wise it is ok for me.
After using it, the skin around my eyes became soft and supple, although it feels a bit greasy but what impresses me is that I never got fatty cloggs.
While it does the same job as many other brands’ eye cream, the ideal of the brand is promoting ethical contact with environment and following the nature, that is probably why I have a better feeling toward it.
