When I went to Kiehl’s, I got a sample of this eye cream to test it out because I am on the look out for an eye cream that will not erase (because that’s like kind of impossible) but diminish my dark circles and my puffiness on those days I pulled an all-nighter or didn’t get a good night sleep. And that’s what happened to me today… I woke up with puffy bags under my eyes and dark circles… which I always have anyways. I really want to be part of those people that this eye cream worked like a miracle … but it didn’t do much for me. My eye bags were still there. My dark circles stayed the same way. I did like the texture of this eye cream. It’s a very smooth gel texture. There’s no scent to this. It’s a nice eye cream… but a little expensive if it doesn’t do anything else than moisturizing… So, you can give it a try, go and get a free sample and see if it works for you… but I didn’t do much for me, sadly.

Well, it definitely got rid of my dark circles and puffiness as advertised. I love how it doesn’t tug at my under-eye area – just makes it smooth and very soft. I swear my tiny crow’s feet disappeared. I use it under Cle-de Peau concealer when going out. Otherwise, it works great by itself.

Got a nice sample of this after asking a SA at Laura Mercier about covering dark circles. She and another SA suggested Eye Alert and both stated that caffeine was helpful in ridding the under eye area of dark circles. I didn’t think that it’d do anything for dark circles but I took the sample cause, hey, it was free (!) and I’m an eye cream junkie. So as I suspected the cream did nada for my dark circles and I also took note that it did nothing for my fine lines either. It also did not have any substantial cooling affect that the SA and packet said it would. I also took note that my eyes started aching an hour after applying this. Not fun. What it DID do well was help my under eye concealer go on smoothly and keep it from settling into expression lines and that’d be due to the dimethicone listed as number two on the ingredient list. In short this product didn’t do anything that it claimed on the packet or what the SA said it would do. Again this is great for makeup application so don’t waste your money on this unless it’s for that. EDIT 2/2/11 Upping this from a 3 to a 5 since I keep reaching for it before applying concealer. Eye Alert works like a primer in filling the little crease lines under my lower lids. Again it does nothing to plump up the skin to rid it of fine lines nor does it do anything at all for dark circles. I’m glad this is so cheap compared to other eye creams and a small tube will last forever due to the tiny amount needed. This is a HG item.
