No complaints about this product. I would give it more than 5 lippies if I could. Does what it’s supposed to do. No chipping whatsoever. My nails have never looked so good.

I’ve purchased this multiple times as it’s the only base coat that fills my ridges and holds the polish to my nails. Due to a medical condition I have really bad ridges and if I don’t use a base coat the polish will literally pop right off my nails. So this base coat is a life saver and has allowed me to wear polish again. This fills the ridges and allows the polish to go on smoothly. I use the Seche Vive gel effect top coat and my manicure lasts for over a week no problem. Do I get some small chips sure but I beat up on my nails so it’s to be expected. Compared to not being able to wear polish at all I’ll take it! This base coat lasts forever too I only apply one thin coat and my nails look great once their painted. This is the best base coat I’ve come across and I’ve tried a few from sally hanson to Essie and for me this one is the best. So happy! Recommended.

I got bottle on clearance at Sally’s for $1.29 and wow! Best base I’ve ever used, hands down. It’s tacky so it really grabs the polish. I’ve had no chipping at all. It’s fantastic.

If I have to choose the worst base coat, that would be it.
My polish did not lasted for 24 hours (usually it lasts about a week).
I gave it a second chance, but result was the same. Never again.

This top coat contains one of the 3 toxic chemicals in nail polish. After a while it gets thick in the bottle. I wouldn’t buy it again. I prefer winning nails tough coat top coat which I found at. Sally’s. Only 5.99.

I got this base coat as a gift with purchase at a sale at Sally Beauty otherwise I wouldn’t have picked it up. IMO this is a disappointing product from a generally good line of polishes and nail treatments.
This applied smoothly and the texture and consistency was nice, not too thick or too thin. It dried quickly and actually filled in some of the ridges on my nails quite well. My polish applied smoothly on top of the base coat so that is a plus.
The big problem comes in that the polish you use over this base coat chips easily and much quicker than over some of my other base coats including my cheap .99 Wet n Wild base coat.
I used this under a Zoya polish and had major chips the next day after showering. As I have always had great wear from Zoya my conclusion is that the base coat failed. As such I would not purchase this base coat again and probably won’t use this base coat again.
Even though this was a freebie it is a disappointment.

*** Note: I just updated this review because I used to take baths instead of showers, and that’s why I was getting chips. I switched to showers several months ago, and viola: no more chips on my nails. I guess soaking in hot water really was the cause after all. If you’re on the search for the perfect base coat,
First, I love the top coat (Seche Vite), and their base coat has benefits over other brands: does not stain (HUGE PLUS), has a good price, is easily accessible. If it (or any lacquer) gets gloopy, just add a few drops of Seche Restore. It’ll thin out your polish just a wee bit, enough to give it that viscosity you want.
I used to use OPI Nail Envy (expensive, mediocre base coat, that can stain a little bit). I started looking around for a good, affordable base coat. I tried Nailtek Foundation 2 and Orly Bonder, but did not like either of them because they both stained and the NailTek dried out my nails, and caused them to peel! I think the best awesome sticky coat is CND Stickey Coat (yes, that’s how it is spelled), but it’s blue, and it stained my nails, so I stopped using it. But I would recommend it, if the drawbacks are ok with you. You won’t get chips at all with CND Stickey Coat, and polish comes off easily, so don’t worry about that. But my body chemistry turned my nails a slight green/blue hue. Not attractive. All these reasons are why I like Seche Clear.
I reviewed Seche Vite and Restore, if you want to read those. No joke, I do my nails at night, 1 hour before bedtime. Seche Vite is what makes that possible.

My coworker raves about this stuff. HOLY SHRINKAGE! Also, what is that extra weird odor? Pros are that this stuff is thick and looks glossy, dries fast, and wow your polish is not going anywhere. It’s a beast to remove though and combined with the shrinkage…. I’m still on the hunt for my ideal top coat.

I’ve had a bottle of the base coat for a couple years and I’ve only been using it a lot of late. I don’t seem to have any issues and my manicure lasts. Since the product dries fast and since I have ridges on my nail I like to apply three coats. So far this method has worked however my nails are on the shorter side right now. I’m curious to see what happens as my nails get longer since I have paper thin nails which bend with the wind…lol. I would buy again but I’m not married to the product just yet.

I was using the fast forward by china glaze but i like this one much better! It dries fast and seems to keepy nail polish on longer.
