I was a huge Glosser fan until it ruined a manicure with a new Zoya polish (Genesis, if anyone wants to know). Previously, Glosser was great with all my polishes: Zoya, OPI, Essie. But with Genesis, my manicure looked like someone had gouged my nails with a sharp implement after everything dried. Weird as anything, never saw the like. Not shrinkage, just gouges all over the nails.
So when I saw Polishield at Ulta, I figured I’d give it a try, plus I need another bottle of top coat anyway. Polishield has a nicer, slightly wider brush than Glosser (I wrote about not liking the thin brush that came with Glosser as part of my review; maybe Orly has fixed all their brushes by now). Polishield is clear in a clear bottle. It’s slightly less glossy than Glosser (I guess I can put a layer of Glosser over Polishield for extra-shine).
So far my new mani with Genesis is looking good– no tip wear, no gouges (and I type all day for a living). I will be trying Polishield over other Zoya polishes (Eleni is next) to be sure it plays nicely. I don’t need 2 topcoats but I’ll use up Glosser with my Essie and Opi colors.
Update #1: 1 week later and not a chip, no tip wear, and it’s almost a shame to take the polish off so I can do a new manicure.
Update #2: My manicures are lasting over a week without chips. This is a solid top-coat, worth the money.

I love Orly Bonder as well as their nail polish so I figured this top coat would be a fav as well. Nope, not even close. I put Polishield on over one coat of Bonder and two coats of Oh Cabana Boy on a Friday night and by Sunday night I had chips on three nails on my right hand and some tipwear on my left, and I hadn’t done much that weekend. Very disappointed ????
