I like the idea of using a softener instead of a toner as a prep before a moisturiser because it removes dead cells which we shed everyday. Most toners usually tighten pores and in shiseido a toner is the last step in the skin care regime. Moreover , its alcohol free and may be used around the eye area as well . I don’t know why most people here say that it contains alcohol. My skin really glow when I use it too. Simply love it.

I haven’t used a toner before and fell for the ‘softener’ idea of this – didn’t realise it was so alcoholic until I got home! It makes my face feel nice after cleansing, but I haven’t noticed any results to speak of. Also using the white lucent moisturiser which has started to smell very alcoholic as well (I’m sure it didn’t at first). I have to say neither product has amazed me in any way – my skin is ok, no spots, but certainly no brighter or youthful looking! I would definitley not buy it again because for that price I’d rather try out some other premium brands…

I love this one among the others with within the same line. Doesn’t irritate my skin, leaves it soft and plump. Nice smell too.

I bought this just to try a Shiseido product. We all know that Shiseido is pricey. Good thing I was satisfied with this. It made my skin glowing, clear, plump, and like other MUA members almost luminous. Some people told me my face looks glowing and at that time I did not even wear make up. I alternate this with 2 other toners but I was greeted that way when I was using this product only. I have to say it’s a bit alcoholic and you can feel that while applying on your face but I can tolerate it. I would repurchase but not right after I finished my bottle now.

Yes. Let me repeat what my fellow MUA members have said before me….ah-hem – this feels really alcoholic…the smell is nice and all, but once it hits your skin, you can feel that harsh cooling sensation urgh. It is way too strong. Don’t buy it.

I really like this product. It’s a present from my Japanese roommate and I am using every morning. My skin looks like feeling the PhD stress less… I have used today instead of moisturizer and I am happy with the results. My skin feels conforted and hydrated enough.

It would have been five stars but I hate the smell so I took one lippie off. I had a 25ml sample and thought nothing of it but I ran out of my beloved SKII toner so I used it up until I got my new Sk bottle. Well, I don’t know if it was because I was betting more sleep or drinking more water while I was using this, but I have to say my skin looked very good, bright, clear, plump…almost luminous. I went without any make up to meet some people and they all told me I was glowing. I was surprised because I thought I just looked passable with decent skin but after the sample was used up and I started on my SKII toner again, my skin hasn’t had that glow. Could be because I started eating worse and sleeping less. I don’t know but if this toner were cheaper, I’d purchase it. It also doesn’t come in a larger size like the SKII toner does, which makes it more economical. The bottle is realllly heavy and I don’t like that. The smell is very synthetic and biting. … but it works well so I’m going to have to think it over.

Nice smelling toner. Keeps my face soft and prepare for next treatment. I bought shiseido cotton to go with this toner. Price is S$79 for 150ml, quite high price for toner. But it is worth it, i find that it helps gentle exfoliation, my marks seem to be lighten, new pimples dries up. I love to use on my husband too. Cos the smell is really nice. Btw i am using the whole range. I bought during promotion. Full size softener, 10ml night cream, 9ml brightening serum, 15 ml day lotion at only s$85. I would continuing using this wonderful softener:):)

I used this and the enriched version. I would say the enriched version is more moisturizing. The alcohol didn’t burn my skin. I love the smell.
It did make my face softer like any other toner/softener.
I would not repurchase because I would like to try something new.
