UPDATE: This Boots ‘Simply Sensitive’ line oddly enough seems to be giving me cystic acne and causing terrible breakouts for me. Definitely won’t repurchase!!!
My Original Review:
I am so frustrated that I can’t get the Boots ‘Sensitive Gentle Refreshing Toner’, and the Boots scrub and cleanser that I used to love at the local Target anymore…..Not sure if they discontinued the line or what, but they now have this ‘Simply Sensitive’ lineup.
This is just fine, I guess..? It is okay for a light cleansing. A VERY LIGHT cleansing. However, if your skin gets oily, this might not be ‘enough’ and I do not think this alone is enough to remove makeup. But for light cleansings, like in the morning when you are in a super-hurry, this is fine. I do not like the twist-off cap, I wish it came with a flip-top cap, bu that is just personal preference. Even though this has a twist-off lid, the actual bottle has a tiny hole of a dispenser, so there is no risk of too much product coming out.
I do get that this is geared for sensitive skin, so my guess is this is best for super-sensitive, fragile skin. Skin that does not wear makeup or sweat nor get oily at all. Definitely is gentle.
However, to me, this is not fragrance-free….Maybe it is the aloe, but there is a definite scent to this. I do not get a ‘refreshing’ aspect with this. I get what feels like a very light cleansing. To me, a micellar water is better than this.
But at least it does not irritate my skin. I have had ‘fragrance-free’ and ‘hypo-allergenic’ and ‘sensitive skin’ products irritate my skin in the past, and at least this does not irritate my skin nor break me out.
I would not use this as a usual toner, but just on days when I need/want a super-light cleansing.
Will not repurchase. I will stick with a micellar water over this. Micellar water for me is just as gentle as this but cleanses a bit better/more.
