I have combination acne prone skin. When I tried this product from a sample someone gave me i felt in love with this product: it mattifies my skin, lives it oli-free and reduces my blemishes in a few hours. I only have two cons against this product: one it’s a bit pricey (but I would totally repurchase) and two, it dries my cheeks very badly so I have to be extra careful about the zones where I use it.

THIS TONER WORKS LIKE MAGIC! Like, seriously. I have an oily, sensitive, and acne-prone skin, especially my forehead. Last week, my face was breaking out so bad. I used any spot treatment to heal it but it just could not. I used most of kiehl’s product, their calendula toner and cleansing foam, also their oil – free moisturizer. I also use their acne spot treatment but sadly it didn’t work on me. Until i ask my friend, she also used to be have literally lots of pimple in her entire face, but now not anymore. She said she used kiehl’s calendula and this blue astringent toner. She said her sister loves this toner too when she gave this toner a try. So i decided to buy this toner on the next day. And yes INDEED! In 2 days, all my cycstic pimples GONR!! I know this product is expensive but trust me, if you have OILY and ACNE PRONE skin, go try this one! I regret myself why i didnt try this product earlier hahaha. This blue astringent saved me and my face. But do note that i use this toner only on the area where i have acnes.i don’t really recommend this for u who have dry skin.. and fyi, this does not really help to reduce blemishes or blackheads.. But definitly this help those stubborn and big pimples

I used many toners for my oily skin to prevent acne and blackheads and control excess oil on my T-zone. This is the one that doesn’t dry out my skin and control the oil best. My skin is really freshened right after I tamp it gently. The smell is herbal-y and fresh. But the best part is that my face looks really brightened! I mean there is a huge difference. It has alcohol but the other toners I used also had alcohol so it is not a big change for me.
The specialist at the Kiehl’s store warned me about that I should put my moisturizer on my face after 5 min applying the toner. I didn’t care his advise at first and the moisturizer completely went crazy. So keep that in mind if you use this toner.

Ok, there is no question this toner is intense, and you’ll be terrified if you read the ingredients. Sensitive or dry skins should go nowhere near it. But. BUT, there is nothing else out there, at any price, that keeps me as matte as this toner. It even prevents the dreaded sweaty face I tend to get in humid weather.
This product may not be for the frail-skinned or faint of heart. But if need absolute oil/sweat control, this will do the trick.

Ooops, I totally put this ALL over my face. I concentrated on my trouble spots (my cheeks), and I generally have dry troubled skin. That said, I woke up with my problem areas reduced and the most deliciously oily face. Like, my skin finally had life again! It wasn’t oily, but rather, plump with moisture again. In the future, I will only use on my troubled areas when I have a breakout; and only at night. I will update if I have some terrible reaction. I also skipped my retinol last night when I used it. And yes, it did feel dry after I put it on. I followed up with with Marula oil, Eve Lom brightening toner, serum, and moisturizer. I also used my special acne cream from my derm.
If I don’t have some terrible reaction, I will use and buy again. Going to use again tonight. Fingers crossed…

One word: WOW.
A little background on my skin…oily, acne-prone,clog prone, and olive-toned so ANY little zit leaves a horrible scar for weeks. I tried for years to use the products you are “supposed” to…fragrance-free, alcohol-free, physical ss, coconut/silicone/paraben/EO free, etc…and my skin only got worse. Huge pores filled with sebaceous filaments, and clogged pores would turn into pimples all over. My skin also became rough and sallow. No bueno. So, I went back to my “harsh” products (Panoxyl wash, acid toner, light gel moisturizer, all 2x day).
I picked this up on a whim after reading the latest Into The Gloss Top Shelf, where the girl featured used this toner. She also used many other products I enjoy, and I wasn’t satisfied with my current toner, so I got this for $18 from Blue Mercury. It does a fantastic job of making my skin matte, in fact better than any other product I’ve tried, and excels at clearing up breakouts and clogged pores. It feels very refreshing as well, and the price is right. On a superficial note, I also like the way it looks in my medicine cabinet next to my other products. 🙂
I negate any drying effects by following with Chanel Hydra Creme Gel and Cerave Ointment (similar to Elta MD Intense but with Vitamin E and ceramides) around my eye area.
In short, this is definitely not a “good” skincare product if your skin needs to be babied. If you are like me, where your eyes literally burn from the oil that runs into them by 5 PM, this may be your saving grace.

This would probably be overdrying for most skins, but my skin is an oil crisis and this does the job. After using this I MUST use an oil free moisturizer or my skin will be very dry. I do use one and the oil is well controlled throughout my 12 hour work day. I also like vintage things and have a great appreciation for the 60’s. I saw that this was formulated in 1964 and thought it must be something extraordinary about this if it’s been around for 50 years now. So I bought it and OMG! I feel a very slight sting after using this, but it’s nothing that some oil free moisturizer can soothe. My only complaint about this product is the flip top cap broke off after about three or four uses and I would expect more for as much as I paid. But I found a great solution: I bought a plain nail polish remover dispenser and poured it in the bottle. It’s much cleaner and it looks nice on my bathroom counter.

After using for years i cannot live with out this. This is a part of my daily routine and has improved acne scars!

Used up bottles and bottles of this and never gonna stop. Although can be a little over drying for normal skin and quite pricey. But I don’t care! It’s meant for acne-prone, oily skin anyways. I highly recommend it for people who breakout a lot. Plus, it’s fragrance free

I think this is a little too harsh for your entire face. So now I only use it when popping pimples as like a “disinfectant” however after the bottle is done I will not be repurchasing.
