I got the colour supplement as a replacement for foundation because I was afraid of clogging up my pores and getting breakouts. In addition to evening out skintone, this product also reduces redness and bumps from skin sensitivity. It is easy to remove and does not dissolve in oily skin throughout the course of the day. My skin is also more moisturised after use. I particularly enjoyed that I only need to use a little of it (less than a pea size blob), means it will last me a very long time. The colour also caters to my Asian skin with pink hues. My face does not become very shiny after using it, but I usually pair it with Innisfree no sebum mineral powder for a longer-lasting matte look. This product does not give full coverage, but gives more natural look (smaller pores, reduce redness, less obvious pimples), so if full coverage is what you’re looking for, you should definitely skip this.
Just a caution about the packaging when travelling: it leaks if you stow it in your luggage (haven’t tried bringing it with me into the cabin).

Too thick for me. Not sure why I bought this, but I was expecting something thinner and more “buildable” on the skin I think. I haven’t really been a fan of any of the makeup items LUSH has come out with, but I do love their products overall – soaps, King Of Skin, Karma shampoo bar, and Rose Jam shower gel are my favorites. Adore their philosophy and partnerships!

I have now tried Lush color supplement. The light pink shade is amazing, and it matches my very pale skin perfectly. I also tried light yellow, and it was yucky…on me. The Jackie Oats was way too pale and didn’t cover well, but the light pink was pretty and gave good coverage of pores and redness and acne. I was fairly impressed as it also seemed to moisturize. There is one thing, though. There aren’t a lot of shades, and if you rub the supplement, it kind of gums off the skin, forming balls, which is weird. I have to remember to keep my hands off my face. 20 dollars is okay for the amount you get as it seems fairly concentrated. I wish it was in a squeeze bottle because my fingers aren’t clean.

I’ve rebought this product several times. When I first got it I got dark yellow which was a perfect match for my Asian skin. The way I use it is I take a pump of moisturizer then a dab of this and swirl it together with a finger tip then spread it all over my face. I have very good skin and just the occasional spot so this works as a homemade Bb cream or tinted moisturizer for me when used this way. I rarely need any thicker coverage. Recently I’ve discovered my colouring is lighter so today I bought light yellow instead and I’ll give it a whirl.

I wanted very badly to like this product. Sometimes, I try very hard with it and convince myself it’s an alright product in the morning and then when I look in the mirror two hours after application I have to admit that I lied to myself. Again.
Pros: Meant to be a ‘natural’ product with multiple uses – a concealer, a colour medium to mix with moisturisers or serums, a foundation. I also acknowledge that it is buildable to medium coverage. No fragrance, but still doesn’t smell pongy, which I appreciate.
Cons: Sigh. Where do I begin? For one, the colour is orange and muddy on me. When I use it with a moisturiser or serum (I’ve tried several) it feels too emollient and just sits on top of my skin. Almost has a glossy finish. Because of the emollient feeling, it doesn’t seem to set, not even with powder. When I powder, I look so, so cakey. If I use it alone as a base, it doesn’t improve much. When I use it as a concealer, it doesn’t cover. It provides slightly more coverage than a tinted moisturiser when used alone (and actually gives less coverage than my BalmShelter), so as a concealer, it just does not work. It moves on my skin. It just doesn’t feel good, feels like a layer of product on my skin. I’ve used my fingers, different types of brushes, and beauty blenders. None of that made a difference. Packaging wise, I like the look of the glass jar, but in a practical sense it’s annoying to pull out a spatula and take the right amount and put the lid back on, and then having to apply from a palette or the back of my hand. Plus all that potential bacteria cooking inside.
I’m just not a fan! I’m giving it two stars, because at least it doesn’t break me out. And I guess at least I get a free glass jar after I clean it out.

This is one of those product that I have a lot of love for, that I really wish had worked out great for me. I think this is one of the most gentle foundation-type product that I’ve ever tried. I have it in the shade Light Pink, which upon application is a near perfect match for my fair skin. The undertone is great – on the colder side of the spectrum, but not overly pink despite the name. My main problem is that this oxidises on me, already in the first 30 to 60 minutes. It then becomes at the very least one shade too dark for me. The way I understand it, whether a foundation will oxidise or not depends on how it reacts to your body chemistry/your skin’s pH balance. I don’t usually find that foundations oxidise on me, but I would guess that the average foundation has a bunch of chemicals to stop that from happening, ones that this foundation doesn’t.
The shade Light Pink has main ingredients like soya oil, rice bran oil and glycerin and is supposed to provide “light and soothing cover for pale skin”. It also contains talc, though, which from what I understand is an ingredient that some people react to. I haven’t had any reactions from this product, in fact it seems truly nourishing and much like a moisturizer on the skin. I haven’t worn oil based foundations in ages, and I was a little bit worried that I would look like an oily mess with this on. While it’s definitely on the dewy side, I didn’t feel greasy or like my skin reacted to the oils. I set it with a loose, translucent powder and I get a decent wear time out of it. It’s not the most long-wearing, but it’s definitely as good, if not better than most BB and CC creams that I’ve tried.
I really appreciate the versatility of the product – you can either wear it as it is for a fuller coverage, or mix it with your moisturizer of choice to create your own customizable tinted moisturizer. I’ve only used it as it is, and I would say that it provides light to medium coverage worn like that. It doesn’t give “perfect coverage” like it says on the pot, but that’s okay with me. I don’t feel or look like I have a bunch of makeup on with this product, but I still feel like my skin looks much more fresh.
Application was something I found a bit tricky in the beginning. In my experience, it doesn’t work well at all to apply it with a sponge (at least not RT’s Miracle Sponge). It applies okay when buffing it in with RT’s Expert Face Brush, though you need to work a little with it to prevent it from going on streaky/patchy. I have yet to try a stipple brush, but my money’s on that alternative being the best for this type of formula (aside from hands, which I generally try to avoid in makeup application).
The main problem I have with the shade Light Pink, again, is that it oxidises and becomes too dark for me soon after application. I’m in no way discouraged from trying this product again though – in fact I’d love to try it in the shade Jackie Oats. Each shades has different ingredients, and Jackie Oats really calls for me with ingredients like oat milk, honey, aloe vera and rose hip oil. I feel like that could be a really great for my winter skin, and it wouldn’t surprise me if I caved sometime during this winter and snatched it up. In that case I’ll definitely update the review. For now, it gets 3 out of 5 lippies, with a bunch of stars in the margin for things like gentle formula, good ingredients and innovation.

+ A really nice product if you don’t want a full cover, full face of makeup, but still want to even out your skin tone and add a healthy glow to your face

– Packaging can be unhygienic. I use a spatula to get the product out in order to minimize the transferring of bacteria
– It doesn’t feel like you get a lot of product – the pot says 20g, but to be honest that doesn’t mean much to me when I’m used to foundation being talked about in terms of ml or fl oz. Depending on how you use it, the price point could be seen as a little bit steep.
– 7 shades only, though I would say the nature of the product (tinted moisturizer-ish) means that one shade could possibly suit a range of skin tones

I have and olive skin tone, and I purchased Dark Yellow pigment. Loved this, and I really didn’t expect to! Can’t have ever been happier with a foundation/skin tint. I also bought Imperialis face cream to mix it in with, amazing combination!
I truly have combination/oily skin, specifically a really dry nose and a really oily forehead. I was so on the fence about buying this because I researched it for days and found a 50/50 mix of good and bad reviews. But anyone who wrote the reviews and took photos, (even if they weren’t impressed), I marvelled at the glow their skin had after applying it – and not the shiny dewy glow that makes me think ‘ew’. So I thought, alright. I’ll try anything LUSH at least once let’s give it a go!
First impression in the store, yikes that is a small container. And it really looks dark – how the hell will this match my skin-tone? Tried some on my wrist, matched great. Texture was awesome. So I talked myself into it! I didn’t research for hours to not know what it would look like.
At home: I put off trying it for a few days honestly. I was terrified I wouldn’t like it, I was worried it would make me break out or that it would be too thick (like I had read elsewhere, they described it as ‘sticky’ – gross.) But I couldn’t put it off any longer, so I dabbed it lightly on my face beside small dabs of the Imperialis I bought to go with it. I mixed it together on my face with my fingers and WOW. I had it, I had the glow! It was so easy and blendable, really good coverage and it evened everything out perfectly. It wasn’t too thick or too thin I got really excited and ran around looking in different mirror and different lighting – always looked amazing! I didn’t even have to use nearly as much concealer as I would normally under my eyes it was just truly amazing!
Throughout the day: Stayed on perfectly, definitely wasn’t thick/sticky at all, did not accentuate the dry patches I always get on my nose and best of all did NOT make my skin greasy OR dry. The glow lived on and on. And there was none of that orange-ish hue I’m used to seeing. It looked so natural in the sunlight – which is rare for my skin tone.
Bottom line: I love everything about this product, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to any other foundation again. It can be as light or as heavy as you like and it, like most LUSH products, feels incredible on the skin. The jar looks tiny, but for daily use you really don’t need much and it absolutely hasn’t made my skin breakout/ feel over oily at all. I feel as though the jar, even though it looks small, will last me at least a month if not longer because of how little you need to use. Definitely recommend!

I have been a makeup artist for three years now professionally and have a long list of products I say no to, due to the animal testing bologna. So, that being said I was introduced to glorious Lush last year, and fell into a true loves spell. This foundation is all I ever needed. At first just a few skin ranges existed but recently they have added more darker shades and light. (Even a bronzer, setting powder, and highlighter!) it is layerable, light to full coverage and highly blendable.

I really like that this product is natural and not full of harsh chemicals…..according to LUSH reps. I was skeptical about this product because it didn’t seem like it could do much for my current situation with acne scars. But I am currently using it and I do like it. It works better than my lighter foundation I’ve been using a BB cream and this is buildable. I build up the color where my scars are and then I add a bit of coverage to help me along and have to say that this is worth the price for a safer product that I put on my skin and does not test on animals as well. I’ve been more careful about the products I use since I’ve heard so many things about the chemicals in beauty products. So I like the coverage. If you have pretty good skin and want something light, you can use a little, use more if you want heavier coverage. Overall the Dark Yellow works for me during the winter months. I have to mix this with another color in the line if summer comes around, but I’m okay with that.

Not as bad as I expected from reading other reviews. It has alright coverage as long as you aren’t trying to cover blemishes/ bad scarring and it does cake up a bit/ looks kind of patchy and sticks to dry spots. Only got this because it was an alright price compared to other foundations and because it’s not tested on animals
