I had gone to WholeFoods to pick up the Mychelle un-tinted liquid spf 50, a mineral sunscreen that I use and like…mostly matte/dry finish. I use a tinted mineral SPF on my face, so the Mychelle Liquid was for my neck. They happened to be out of it, so I picked up this one, and was pleasantly surprised. It’s more moisturizing than the liquid one, and does have a slightly tacky feeling for most of the day, but it goes on clear and has a very low shine factor. Took a star off for the lower SPF, but I would very likely buy this again. Can’t say if I would like it under makeup on the face, but I’d imagine it would be good for that, especially if your skin is on the dry side or during the colder months.
Wear your sunscreen, girls! I’m a former tanner, and though I loved how I looked with a tan, it’s not worth the risk of skin cancer and early signs of aging. I’ve been lucky, my years of sun damage didn’t cause too much trouble, because for some people, a lot of aging is genetic – but why take a chance? Since starting a more disciplined skin care approach including sunscreen, I’ve noticed amazing positive changes in my skin…so please, don’t skip this very important part of your “beauty” routine!
Edited to add: I’ve been using this on my face, under my Elta MD tinted SPF 41, and I like it! I had thought it would be too heavy or greasy, but it’s not. I did notice very slight stinging around the eyes, so I’m avoiding that area. I put this on all over my face, and after it sets, use the tinted sunscreen around my eyes, along the cheekbones, etc., then set it all with powder. Even after 8 hours, my skin looks fresh, with barely a powder touch up needed. I only wish this stuff came in a bigger size.

After a while of using this in on neck and upper chest, I had 3 mosquito bite like reddish bumps on my upper chest and one at my jawline that itched and took forever to heal. Since at the time I had made the mistake of using 3 or 4 new products at once, I had to do a process of elimination to figure out the cause, and I think it was this sunscreen, which has a light fragrance and is considered to be moisturizing. I’ve since switched to the Mychelle Sun Shield unscented SPF 28 for the heck and chest. I don’t like that the SPF is lower, but I pile it on and avoid the sun anyway, so I think it’s enough protection.

I wasn’t even aware of this brand of sunscreen until I watched YouTuber Angie, aka “HotandFlashy” do a Best & Worst of Mineral Sunscreens for 2018. She didn’t try this exact product, rather another from the line that is a tinted fluid however, it got me intrigued enough to try this out. The consistency of this is somewhere between a lotion and a cream that blends out easily and smoothly on the skin. It feels light weight and dries down to a matte finish. I didn’t notice any white cast and it works amazingly well. It is on the expensive side ($30 CAD) but I don’t mind spending $ on quality products for good skin care, including sunscreen. I’d rather splurge on skincare then makeup any day. I didn’t notice any fragrance in this product and it layers well on itself which I tested while spending the day outside swimming. This has replaced all other sunscreens I’ve tried on my face up until now.

This is, hands down, my absolute favourite sun screen. It has great ingredients. The texture is magnificent. It absorbs quickly and provides UVA & UVB protection. I am on my 5th tube. It does not leave a white cast even on dark skin. It helps mattify my oily skin. If they discontinue this stuff I will riot!

I wanted to love this sunscreen as it did not give a white case on my type IV tan skin BUT it left a sticky residue and pilled off my make up. Also felt heavy on my skin. I will finish the tube on days when I don’t wear makeup but I will not be buying this again unless they figure out how to improve the texture.

The best physical sunscreen there is! We have issues in our family with other chemical sunscreens where our eyes itch and tear and we get rashes. I break out from many other sunscreens and feel that it is not a smart idea to put chemicals (in many many sunscreens) on my skin and then go out in the sun to sweat and open up my pores to let the chemicals in! Eek! Anyway, this is a wonderful physical sunscreen that does not make your skin overly white. It is not difficult to rub in and my entire family used it on vacation without any problems. No, it is not as easy to use as the sprays, but we have had such bad reactions to those sprays that I don’t mind the extra few minutes to rub this in. It stayed on even after swimming which helped with its cost effectiveness.

This is the best sunscreen I’ve ever used. It doesn’t leave my any sort of a whitish cast on my skin. And it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy at all when I apply it over my daily moisturizer. It absorbs well and instantly.
I think the difference in reviews might be because it depends on what you are used to and your skin type. In general, I do not use sunscreens with any type of silicones in them which means that a lot of the sunscreens I’ve tried are very difficult to spread and are thicker since silicones usually give products a lighter feel. I also only buy mineral based sunscreens.

This is a waxy sunscreen and requires great pains to smooth into the skin. It is also difficult to remove. I think the sun protection offered is pretty good and this is okay under makeup, but it is a bit too heavy for my comfort level. I would not repurchase this product.

So far this is one of the best “natural” sunscreens I have ever found. It’s creamy and smooth, and pretty light (I do not wear make-up on top of it so I can’t speak to how it blends with other products). It is not as moisturizing as I would like, but it’s far more moisturizing than many zinc sunscreens I have tried. The finish is mostly matte. I am never shiny with this. Sometimes I use a few drops of facial oil underneath the sunscreen. For winter, for me with pretty sensitive skin, it’s not quite moisturizing enough.
I have only used it in the winter and gone through two tubes (I rinse my face with water and reapply 2-4 times a day – I have hyper pigmentation issues and am very serious about my facial sun exposure). I may try something a little more moisturizing, but this is one of the best I have ever used. I’m likely to buy again, as well as to try their other facial sunscreen that has no titanium dioxide in it.

I am totally blown away by this sunscreen! After giving up on finding an all physical sunscreen that is wearable without feeling greasy or leaving a white residue……… along comes this!! I was browsing in the skin care section of Whole Foods and saw a tester for this. I tried it on the back of my hand and couldn’t believe how silky it felt and it left no white residue. The only sunscreen agent is 13.25% zinc oxide so I was pretty amazed. Trying it on my face the next morning, I was thrilled. This product doesn’t leave any sort of white residue and it dries down to a dry, matte finish. It has the feel and finish of a primer- doesn’t feel like a sunblock at all. It makes my skin look better and my makeup doesn’t slide off. It’s a bit pricey, but I have to say this one is worth it. Makes me wonder- how come all non-chemical sunscreens aren’t like this one???

I found this to provide a lot less than SPF30. I tanned a lot with this, which is a sign that the SPF is not high. This coats your skin in a thick tacky film, its not something that you can rub in either. It leaves skid marks similar to rubber tyres on your skin, its matt but not to my liking. There are many other natural based options which are a lot more elegant. This is not something I would recommend and went straight in the trash. I’m using the Juice Beauty sports spf 30 and it is much better.
