   So glad it found its way to my dresser. This review is for the spf30; it is exactly the same bottle as above, but there isn’t an spf40 version in the uk. Am australian settling down in uk and was so glad to see an australian company making it on the shelves here. Australian sunscreens are the best cos the sun is the worst in that country. We certainly have got it down pat when it comes to sunscreen production. Also, I prefer natural as opposed to chemical but I am allergic to titanium dioxide and most natural sunscreens have it in their formulas. Had to stick to chemical but was constantly stalking the net for all zinc formulas. Have tried several unsatisfactory brands as well, and trust me, they are nothing compared to this.

   First off, this is a very typical zinc only sunscreen with the hereditary whitecast left on face, thick paste-y ointment like feeling sunscreen. So why am I giving favourable reviews? I have matured 50 year old skin, am asian and got some serious pigmentation of my cheeks which I have managed to control to some extent (with skincare, not sunscreen). Sunscreen prevents, NOT corrects pigmentation.

   Due to the fact that my skin is forever thirsty for moisture, the greasiness is not the issue for me. Also, the ingredients are pretty non comodogenic, and that is reassuring since I still have the hormonal breakouts (huge cystic mothers which surface if I do not pay attention to the ingredients). The whitecast is more of a challenge to deal with.

   In order to get proper protection, it is critical to apply the right amount. I heeded the advice on the application instructions and smeared a little at a time on my forehead, nose, cheek and chin and waited for the ointment to warm up with my body temperature for about 30 seconds. Then I blend all over my face and repeat with a little more till I am satisfied with the amount. This leaves the face greasy (which I do not mind as stated earlier), and the whitecast is still there but not as prominent if you just smeared and blended half a teaspoon straight onto your face.

   I do not use makeup on a daily basis. And since this is still a new product for me, I haven’t tested to see if this product plays well with makeup. Also, bear in mind that the efficacy of physical sunscreen is very dependent on the fact that it needs to sit on top of most of your skincare products. I really like this product because this is one of the best out there in terms of blendibility. The whitecast issue is reduced somewhat (but still there) depending how you apply this product. Also, compared to the vast amount of rubbish passing themseves off as natural sunscreens, this ladies, so far has been the best. I’ll still always be looking for better products of course, but quite happy to settle for this beautiful australian staple. Love it heaps! Thank you Moogoo, you beauty!

   To combat the whitecast issue, I shopped for a drugstore oil-free foundation with a very light texture to offset the rich texture and settled on Maybelline’s Fit-Me matte foundation in a shade that is a shade darker than my skintone to offset the white. Pat it on, do not rub it in or you may run the risk of thinning the layer of sunscreen you painstakingly applied beforehand. Voila, ready for the day’s tasks.

   Just bear in mind that I possess a relatively minimalist facial routine with usually no makeup on a daily basis. Hope this proves helpful.

   Just switched to this sunscreen after using a Cetaphil one for a few months and my skin felt more hydrated after the first use! I’ve used a few high SPF sunscreens before and I have to say that this one sits better under makeup than others I’ve used. I don’t find that it takes ages to rub in, so maybe I’m using slightly less than others? I have to say, the white cast may be an issue for some people. I’m very fair, so it’s barely noticeable for me (and not noticeable at all once my makeup is over it). Overall, I think it’s an awesome product and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a high SPF sunscreen that doesn’t dry out or irritate their skin.

   I just finished this and will not repurchase. I originally got this for my kids due to the zinc oxide ingredient. My daughter has ezcema. I found this a bit difficult to spread /rub in at first application but okay once you rub it in. The issue is that my kids will not sit around waiting for me to rub it in.

   I’m a NC25 and tried it on my face and it does not leave a white cast.

   It’s a bit difficult to remove at the end of the day. You need to apply cleansing oil on the face and lots of soap to the body.

   It’s also expensive compared to other sunscreens. This one doesn’t go on sale whereas there are always sales at Priceline and Chemist Warehouse. I’m going to search for other ones with zinc oxide and that is suitable for my kids.

   After two bottle of this it’s time to write a review since I haven’t seen one here. Its high merit is also its flaw. With high % of zinc oxide, the highest in any sunscreen product, expect the gloppiness (takes time to rub in), greasiness (if you’re combination to oily), white cast, and tackiness. It’s a GOOD sunscreen no doubt. Fantastic for intense sun exposure activities. One of the best I’ve tried despite the list I just gave. Just wished MooGoo would release one with slight lower (20% maybe?) zinc oxide to counter the issues and make it more practical and pliable for daily facial use.

   Pros:
   – High Zinc Oxide: 24.96% = 100% mineral sunscreen
   – Clean ingredients list
   – Doesn’t caused breakout/ irritation – suitable for even sensitive skin
   – Suitable for adults and children
   – Great for outdoor activities/ intense sun exposure
   – Not tested on animals

   Cons:
   – Gloppiness (takes time to rub in),
   – Greasiness (for combination to oily skin)
   – Visible white cast
   – Tackiness
   – Has tendency to break makeup slightly

   TIPS: Do not store this in your car trunk during hot travelling day. The heat has a possibility to separate the sunscreen and oil. It’s still useable after, but the oil will drip when pumping the product out.
