Louis Widmer is a well-known quality Swiss pharmacy brand. This light gel formulation sunscreen is designed for hypersensitive skin prone to sun allergy, has excellent sun protection (SPF30; PPD at least 15), only using modern EU filters, and contains quite a few antioxidants and other beneficial, skin-soothing ingredients. No alcohol, no fragrance (although there’s also a version with fragrance), no emulsifiers, no formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. It’s also oil-free but it does contain silicones. It’s water-resistant, light yet hydrating and it’s affordable (€20 for 100ml tube). It can be used on both the face & body. So I decided to buy it, hoping my dry, (sun)sensitive Rosacean skin likes it;-) The SPF/PPD might be too low in summer but would be sufficient in winter (I live in NW Europe) and for occasional sun exposure.
It’s a thin gel-cream; very easy to spread and sinks in quickly. No white cast and absolutely no stickiness(!). You don’t feel/look like wearing ss at all. Very hydrating although I always use moisturizer/body lotion first. I didn’t experience any irritation. IMO this is one of the nicest and best SPF30 sunscreens out there and relatively affordable as well. I highly recommend giving this ss a try!
