I don’t have sensitive skin, but this one is a huge NO for me. Burns! Not just my eyes, but my entire face. So bad that I had to immediately wash it off, so I have no idea how it dries down or looks under makeup. Like a lot of sunscreens that are a fail for the face, they are not necessarily a waste, I just save them to use on my arms and hands. But I won’t be repurchasing this one.

At first I loved this as it didn’t break me out, and the light reflectors seemed to help even my skin tone (especially when applied under makeup). After about 2 weeks of using this product, it started burning when I applied it and causing redness. The redness would subside after about 45 minutes, but sometimes the burning would return when exposed to bright sun. I did some research and found I am not the only one who experienced this, and that many people experience burning when using sunscreens containing oxobenzone and avobenzone and do better when switching to a zinc based sunscreen. Oxobenzone itself is an endocrine disruptor! Neutrogena sunscreens have been rated as some of the worst when it comes to toxicity! The information is out there. I am returning this sunscreen and going with a healthier option (that also won’t burn my face!).

Yes to the other reviews. This product broke me out almost immediately. I usually use the fantastic Cetaphil oil-control SPF 30 and my skin loves it. I don’t see it much on shelves anymore, so decided to try this. I’m furious about the marketing. Most sunscreens break me out slowly- even Dior Capture Total SPF 50 with no “oil-free” signs took a long time to cause a very minor breakout. This one was swift and even caused it on my cheeks. NO THANKS. Please proceed with caution if you’re acne-prone. For some, a product like this could be quite devastating. Cheek cysts cause scars that last for years on my skin. Neutrogena should be more careful with their claims.

GIVES ME CYSTIC ACNE. I gave this so many tries. Burning sensation when applying. It took me a few wears to realize my foundation wasnt breaking me out, it was this sunscreen. Disappointed! Dries quickly tho, sits fine under makeup but makes me oily ( I have dry skin)

I was surprised this turned out to be a miss for me. I usually really like Neutrogena products and trust them not to irritate my skin, and to work well. This product did the exact thing it promised not to do – break me out. The texture of the product is fine, and absorbs relatively quickly, but within a day of using it, I broke out. I had run out of my usual Ombrelle and needed a short term replacement (I’m trying to avoid sun damage as much as humanly possible!), and thought this would be great. The other problem I had with it, aside from breakouts, is that it occasionally burned as it went on. NOT A GOOD SIGN! I’m going to assume it’s the active ingredient, Helioplex, causing the irritation, but might just be the formulation itself not working with my skin. Regardless, I gave it a week of use and things only got worse, so I got my hands on some Ombrelle and have relegated this Neutrogena product to use on my hands, feet, etc – but never on my face.
