If you have sensitive skin, DO NOT BUY THIS! I experienced extreme burning sensation for 15 minutes after applying this thing. It’s really painful, especially around the nose, mouth and eyes area.
The consistency is kinda thick and difficult to spread. Dries to OILY FINISH. There is white cast and after around one hour there’s lots of whitish flakes on my skin. It also produces whitish stuff? around hairline and eyebrows. Ugh. In my country, the price point is very high for a drugstore product. Save your money and stay away from this product!

I’m not impressed with this sunscreen. It goes on thick and goopy, so if you have oily skin – beware! You will end up looking like an oil pool if you don’t pair it with some setting powder. It claims to dry matte which really baffles me… It doesn’t seem to break me out which is good, but be careful if you’re sensitive to Cetearyl Alcohol because this product does contain it and it is acne-causing for some people. I crash tested this in Guam for its claims to be “very water resistant” and I can say that it does do an okay job, but my face still got tanned… and because of its thick texture, it’s difficult to reapply layer upon layer! I would not buy this again, simply because there are SO many better alternatives at a much lower price point! I recommend going for some of the Japanese sunscreens such as Sofina, Biore or Hadalabo.

I liked this at first and now, for the life of me I can’t remember why. Perhaps it was in the winter and it was cold enough for me not to notice but now in early spring this stuff is horrid. It leaves a white tide mark next to my hairline and has even started to blur off some of my extremely waterproof mascara! Leaving me panda like. No good and still shining into the mid afternoon.

Where I live this product/brand is pretty expensive, so i did get hypped on the thought that i will be using the sunscreen that is specially made for acne-prone skin, and it was very sad experience when i’ve realized that not only this makes my skin freak out with those little under the skin bumps, that eventually turns out to be zits, but it also doesn’t do much protection as well…i’ve got burnt by the sun pretty bad while i was wearing it, and broke out the next day, so no, i don’t like this product and i would’t buy this again.

I bought this because I have very oily skin prone to both acne and hyperpigmentation (PIH), and I am always looking for a good ss that will help w/ ageing and PIH w/o breaking me out or making me look as shiny as a mirror. Unfortunately, this did not work very well and I won’t buy again. It did not break me out at all, or cause any irritation, but it made me shiny and silvery-white looking. I applied, and put my mu on over it w/ no problem (no balling or pilling). However, about 3 hours later, I looked at myself in the mirror, and my first thought was “I look like the JOKER.” A silvery-white color was coming through my mu and I was VERY shiny. Not attractive at all. If you are not oily and don’t mind a silvery white color, this may work for you. I will probably only use when working outside in my yard and don’t have anywhere I need to go.

It has been a hard task to find a sunscreen that does not give any allergic reaction. Usually, after a couple of months of usage, I have to change the sunscreen brand. So I tried Neutrogena, LOreal (La Roche, Vichy…), Clinique… and I had to give them away.
This Avene product surprised me. I am on the second bottle, and even using it everyday, it didn`t give me any side effect. My face does not turns oily and it leaves a slightly silk feeling.
I also enjoyed the package, it is a mix of pump valve and tube.

It leaves a white cast, feels heavy and it leaves my face shiny.
I like that it comes in a pump, that Avene recommends using 7 pumps for face and neck (I love when brands say the exact amount to apply instead of just saying apply liberally!), that does not cause any negative reaction on my skin and the protection.
I wouldn’t go out with it on and I can’t fix the inelegant finish with make up.

I bought this off Amazon and really hope I can return it. Both times I used it my face felt warm and flushed after applying, and was reddened for several hours. Could be the avo, the OTT fragrance, or whatever…but I’ve not had this happen yet with any other Avene product. It is $$$ for a small amount. Finish is slightly more matte than the Spray for children SPF 50+, but still slightly whitening and still shiny enough that I find it impossible to even go out to do errands without fixing this somehow.
I’ll stick with the Avene sprays for now
