Tinted beige cream that rubs in quickly and easily quickly leaving a skinlike dry matte finish with gold shimmer pieces. I’m not a fan of matte with shimmer finishes as I find they make my skin look older, and like I’m trying too hard to cover it with glitter. I find it very drying. I have normal skin and it makes me feel dehydrated with every little fine line enhanced, and feelinguncomfortably dry and tight.
Color is a sheer light beige with a neutral grey undertone and gold glitter pieces. I have very fair skin and it makes my skin look grey, dull and lifeless. I aslo saw another person said its too light for their skin. The “suits all skintones” tint just doesn’t. Its like Lauder only think light to light-medium skintones matter and forget the fair and tanned/deep skintones 🙁

City smart is a clever marketing hoax by Elizabeth Arden.
It does not meet Australia therapeutic goods administration guidelines to be marketed as spf 50 hence the “with sunscreens” statement.
The barrier function is purely different forms of silicone which clog pores and as a result makes skin more oil prone and increases acne / black heads.
It’s also not ophthalmologist tested nor approved so it cannot be used on the eye area. I developed milia.
Try Rationale B3T or beautiful skin instead. Far superior and TGA approved.

I received this as a sample, and have been very pleased with it. I golf in Ontario in summer and Florida in winter so I need an effective sunscreen. Like others, I sometimes layer a mineral base over a chemical base for fully protection. I like the consistency and feel of this product. It doesn’t iritate my sensitive skin. I don’t usually use Elizabeth Arden products so I pleasantly surprised with this sunscreen. It is written on the tube that it contains 5.6% zinc oxcide, and 6.2 titanium dioxcide.

This is an ok sunscreen. Its physical (titanium dioxide and zinc combo) but unfortunately there are no percentages of these actives (not great at all). Antioxidant blend of idebenone, green tea and ferulic acid which is a nice combo but it would be nice if they were higher up on the ingredient list.
The cosmetic finish is quite nice but a little problematic around the eye area. The fluid itself is moisturizing and dries matte but it does leave a slightly rubbery film on top which can feel quite uncomfortable. I think this is due to the silicones and ceramides that Prevage uses for its ‘anti-pollutant’ effect of inoculating the skin. This sounds great in theory but I did notice that it accentuated the fine lines around my eyes.
In the UK this is priced at £55.00 and having tried and tested so many sunscreens on the market that combine spf and antioxidants, I do not think that this is amongst the best or particularly value for money.
The antioxidant blend is nice but you can find better bets with Topix Replenix SPF 50 which has 12% zinc oxide and green tea, CoQ10, Resveratrol etc, or Nia 24 Spf 30 with the skin-softening niacin and physical blockers (personal favourite of mine), or Skinceuticals Physical Fusion SPF 50 which is tinted.
In any event, I would not use this solely for my sun protection as I layer physical spfs over chemical spfs for real anti-aging benefits. I try out quite a lot of physical sunscreens and unfortunately, Prevage City Smart is not a physical spf I will be using for that purpose.

I ws so looking forward to this but this is just the triple defines (now discontinued) repackaged. Its the same dry, suck out all moisture feeling. I had such high hopes for this. This is a really grippy product so good for when you use foundation that requires more tact. The downside is that it is just so drying and I’m not even dry. I love their serum and cream but this is not a winner. Please try before you buy. Best for oily or hot humid climates. This is also tinted a light brown and I felt it made me look really dull. It dries to a matte finish. This would be too dark for those less than NC25. This could be improved by a yellow based and lighter tint. Its real down fall is that its too drying for me to use.
