   Never get absorbed on my combination skin, living in humid Singapore.
   Also when layering (I apply 1/4 tsp on face), it pills. Can’t just make it work.
   This definitely protects better than the SPF30 version, tried both.

   Would not recommend

   It does give quite decent protection in Singapore where the UV damage is ultra-strong. However, I wouldn’t buy it again as it’s really difficult to wash off, even with oil cleanser or Eucerin Bath Oil! Even many other waterproof sunscreens were easier to remove.

   Also my sensitive skin became really bumpy and itchy.

   I’ve been looking for a multipurpose sunscreen lotion. I like this because it has a sheer coverage but this is just too thick and very sticky.And I am staying in an air conditioned room and have dry skin. I just dont feel comfortable.

   I’ve been through so many sunscreens as a dark skinned girl, trying to find one that didn’t make me look like I was wearing a white mask. I also get very oily/sweaty and overheated, and hate the feeling of applying sunscreen on my face on a hot day.

   Thankfully, Cetaphil Daylong solves both those issues.

   It’s pricey, yes, but you get 200ml of product, and if you only use it on your face and neck, like I do, that lasts forever. Because it’s such a big tube I don’t feel like I need to skimp on using the recommended 1 teaspoon, unlike more expensive smaller packages (Clinique City Block, Eucerin Sun Fluid, etc).

   The consistency is slightly watery (not runny) and very light. It absorbs quickly to an invisible finish. It can look greasy for a few minutes until it absorbs fully, but if you’re in a rush, it’s easy enough to blot the shine with a tissue. Sometimes I apply my makeup directly on top, and it doesn’t pill or flake. On drier days I top with a moisturiser (Embryolisse Lait-Creme) before applying foundation. I’ve even managed to re-apply this by gently patting it in over my foundation, on days when I’m out in the sun, and it managed not to make my face streaky.

   I’ll keep purchasing this. Compared to how pricey good sunscreens are, it really doesn’t feel like a stretch when it performs better than most higher end products.

   This review is for the Cetaphil Daylong SPF50+ Light Gel (face & body). There is a separate sunscreen for face only with SPF30.

   I stopped using sunscreen for a while because I couldn’t find one that didn’t drove my acne to absolute rampage. Bought one on a whim, which i NEVER do, and this thing is a life saver.

   It’s got a very light texture. On the packaging it states “light GEL”. WRONG! It’s more of watery lotion (slightly thicker than most Biore or mentholatum liquid sunscreen). Dries out smooth and matte but still has slight sheen (at least for me). It does leave a slight white cast on my face but quickly fades when dried. I like that it doesn’t leave that typical sticky or oily feeling of sunscreen. The smell is very light (since it’s fragrance-free), you could barely smell this thing. I would recommend this for those with oily/acne-prone/sensitive skin. Took a lippie away because it’s more expensive than your average drugstore brand sunscreen.

   I’m not entirely sure if this is available in the States or the UK but it is available in many drugstores in SouthEast Asia.

   Pros:
   – didn’t broke me out
   – oil-free & non-greasy
   – non-comedogenic, fragrance free, Paraben free, emulsifier free
   – watery -texture (easy for make-up after)
   – smooth out nicely on face & body
   – no ghastly smell
   – absorbs quickly
   – easy to remove (since it’s oil-free)

   Cons:
   – does have a slight sheen (but not too serious)
   – slightly expensive
   – technically not gel as the packaging states
