I have been using the spf 50 for body and face in the orange tube (300 ml) for quite a few summers. Most of the time it has been effective in protecting me from sunburns. This has been the reason that I kept re-stocking on it whenever I could get it at lower price especially during winter. I suspected that it was staining clothes so I was trying to put it on at the beach or with “beach” clothes that I didn’t care if they stained irreversibly. But this summer I spent holidays in Nice and going to the beach meant that I had to walk through the old town. I wasn’t using my “beach” clothes but just a bit nicer ones and made sure to apply the sunscreen at the beach. BUT on the way back from the beach I had to dress while some sunscreen was still on my body. The result was that after returning from my holidays I realized that the stains from this sunscreen on three white shirts cannot be washed away! My favorite Burberry pique shirt is destroyed and so are two more shirts I liked very much. I machine washed these three shirts in 60 and in 90 degrees Celsius, and the stains got from visible to prominent. In fact some kind of chemical reaction must have happened with the temperature and/or the washing powder and the chemicals of the sunscreen because the stains really became very visible and it seems permanent. I am very upset about it. I will have to find a sunscreen that doesn’t destroy clothes while still protecting me from sunburns. The tube packaging hasn’t been good either because towards the end of the product there is a lot of wasted cream; unless you cut the plastic to get the cream out. I know people don’t, or say they don’t, do this. But I always do and have witnessed all those mls of cream I could have thrown away. That’s my experience with Vichy spf 50 (300 ml) for body and face.

I’m a big fan of the Vichy capital soleil matti flying sunscreen for face, so I gave this one a whirl for the body and it’s as good as its face cream counterpart! I’ve tried many spf50+ sunscreens which tend to leave the skin quite greasy and while it does indeed leave a bit of a sheen on the skin, it’s nothing like those I’ve tried before. I don’t even feel the need to run to the sink to wash my hands after application as I normally would! Another plus is the fact that there is little fragrance which makes it feel more like a lotion. Plus the sun protection is very high quality (provided you’re often reapplying as necessary). For 13€, it’s an incredible deal. Yes yes yes.

I ordered this online – this is the one w/ Mexoryl + minerals for sensitive skin (hope I’m in the right category – the label is all in Spanish, Portuguese and another language I cant decipher). Anyway, came in a nice, good-sized squeeze tube (300 ml). This is a white milky cream, but it disappears instantly, leaves skin soft and moisturized w/o being sticky, caused me no irritation whatsoever, and I wore it outside all day and never burned (I’m fair w/ light eyes, but I do tan, if I have no ss on I will burn pretty quickly though). I didn’t even re-apply, which I know you’re supposed to do but I always forget. I’ve used it about 6 times so far. Great for body, but w/ my super-oily face I don’t think I can use on face. Overall, very happy w/ it.

I used this sun cream on my whole body (not face) throughout my summer vacation, and it kept my skin looking healthy and free of sunburns. Active ingredients are a mixture of both physical and chemical sunscreens: titanium dioxide and avobenzone (don’t know the exact amounts, because it’s not compulsory to report them in Europe). However, as expected with a sunscreen this high, the feel tends to be quite heavy and sticky. I’ve tried much worse, and this feels light enough, but you will notice you’re wearing sunscreen. I’m hoping to find something that feels even lighter, but this is definitely one of the better sunscreens I’ve tried. It’s fragrance-free and also paraben-free, if you find that important. At 300 ml and around 24 euros, it’s a pretty good deal too.
