This stuff is actually pretty decent. I liked that the formula was light and went on smoothly. But it did tend to feel a bit greasy. I also liked that it didn’t leave a white cast on my skin. And it didn’t sting if I got too sweaty. But my major issue was with it was that it wasn’t moisturizing enough. I was getting a lot of break-outs at the time, so I was using a lot of spot treatments, which was leaving me with dry patches. This did nothing to moisturize them. I would use it again, but only when my skin is in better shape.

overall a pretty decent lotion as far as Sun protection goes. Not the best but not the worst. I appreciate how lightweight it is and that it’s water resistant but I think that it can use a few improvements.. I like that it didn’t have a thick or gunky feel and that it didn’t leave a white cast like most of the spf facial lotions on the market do. However, I do feel that spf 30 isn’t really sufficient and should be raised up to atleast an spf 50. Also, it is advertised as going on “matte” and although it feels greasy when you put it on until your skin soaks it up and when it dries I would consider more of a semi matte finish than completely matte so you still get a slight dewiness hence why I took a few lippies off as well. Especially because when facial lotions are advertised as having a “matte” finish usually they don’t require me to really do powder touch ups throughout the day to keep the oil down, but with this one I did have to touch up a couple of times. Also although it is advertised as sweat reistant be cautious to not put any around or near your eyes because it will run and sting the shiznit out of them! So beware. Bottom line, for anyone who has super oily or acne prone/ sensitive skin I think this product will more than likely be a no go for you. But if you have normal to dry skin it should be fine. I’m going to finish up the bottle that I have since I hate wasting anything but I’m not going to be repurchasing once I run out

I am writing about the Silky Sheer Tinted Face 50, a different version of this product. I am low maintenance in terms of makeup. With age I have found that i need a tinted moisturizer/sunscreen. I use this each day, sometimes mixing it with a bit of moisturizer if I feel that my skin needs it. It seems to smooth things out a little bit and I still look natural. I used this daily during a trip to the Grand Canyon and my skin stayed sun-free.
I hope they don’t discontinue this. It doesn’t leave my skin looking shiny like other tinted moisturizers have and that is a great thing.

You know, as far as drugstore sunscreens go – L’oreal’s attempt wasn’t all that bad. I’ve definitely bought worse from Walmart before. With that being said, I hope this one step in the right direction evolves. Because this current formulation does not have me 100% sold.
What I really love about this sunscreen is the super liquid-y consistency. Thinner formulas lead to less caking under my make up, and less of a chance to grease up once my oil breaks through. It also makes applying my thick foundation much less of a chore. I lasted about 4.5 hours before needing a powder touch up. On my pizza-face, that’s pretty decent.
Now for the cons… SPF 30 is not sufficient in my book. Keep in mind you would need 1/4 tsp to reach that protection factor fully. I require at least spf 50. I also wish the ingredient formulation was more mineral based rather than chemical. I’ve gotten much longer-lasting matte results from japanese brands (IE Biore).
If you want to buy this for your body – opt for the dry oil version because it has a higher spf protection. I plan on using the remainder of this on my neck since throwing it away would be wasteful. It’s not bad enough to trash. I obviously would not rec this sunscreen to any of my fellow oily gals. But for all of you normal-dry skinned ladies, go for it.

applies well with no residue, I was first very happy with the product but after 1 month of use I realize that it is really drying out my skin. currently looking for a more moisturizing sunscreen for the face

This product is not new. Don’t fall for the hype. Its the same exact formula as last year’s Loreal Sublime Sun. I have both and there is nothing different or earth shattering about this one.
Product: Dries down to a matte finish so if wearing this under foundation you won’t need primer. Its very watery so be careful when pouring into hand. On my skintone (nc44/45) if I apply too much it will give me a white cast but it comes in handy if I’m experimenting with a foundation sample that is a tad too dark for me. I don’t advise using this everyday if you have the 50spf version as it just ups risk of acne.

At first loved this. But after two weeks. I’ve determined that it’s making my face breakout. It feels nice when it first goes in but after 30 min my face feels super slick and looks oily. I know this sounds strange given how slick it felt but it really dried out my skin too.

I have this in SPF 50 but also received a sample of the SPF 30 & can’t tell the difference. It’s lightweight and feels amazing on; it reminds me a lot of L’Oreal’s Magic Nude Liquid Powder, which is a dupe for Armani Maestro, as it dries down to a soft powdery finish. Checking ingredients on both shows that they’re pretty similar with lots of silicones, some alcohol (I disagree with Paula Begoun & others who say that there is ‘lots’ of alcohol in this, as the bottle is only 1.7 oz. and you apply a tiny amount to your face: if people are so freaked about alcohol why don’t they stop drinking it? OK I’ll stop) tho this product has full spectrum sunscreen and the Nude Magic lacks adequate UVA filter. Anyway both are perfect if you want a light, easy, no makeup look. There’s only 1 shade in this but it blends into a slightly tanned, slightly evening, mainly invisible shade which doesn’t settle into lines or accentuate dry patches. Doesn’t sting my eyes and doesn’t slide off. The small bottle is easy to carry around with you for reapplication. I love this stuff! Also like the Magic Nude. Go, L’Oreal! Two great products for me this year.

Hate to be the downer, but this did not agree with my skin. Very lightweight, milky, but the silky consistency just felt silicone-y on my face after a few minutes. And itchy/sting-y. Not extensively, not warranting an immediate wash-off, just a bit uncomfortable. Noticed about mid-day that my face was super shiny, but upon closer inspection saw that my pores were huge and totally dilated, and my skin looked super dehydrated! Standard crappy sunscreen outcome. Like the slim bottle, but because of the watery consistency it gets really messy. I used this for 3 days, and had to clean the bottle after every use. Bummer.

The texture of this face lotion is lovely. You do have to mix it in the bottle before you use it and the consistency looks like watery yogurt but it blends well into the skin, forms a good base under my foundation since it is so light, and doesn’t leave my face an oil slick. My skin feels soft like skin, not caked with residue. I experience no stinging, but can tell I will need something more emollient when the weather starts to get colder. It has a chemical sunscreen scent which I don’t mind. I don’t want anything too fragrant for my face. This is about $11 at Walgreens. I am definitely catching this on sale since it does what it says it will. I usually use Trader Joe’s facial lotion with sunscreen, but it gets a little heavy during the summer for my skin. This has SPF 30 and absorbs well.
