I tried this at the cosmetic store and couldn’t get enough of it. I need it for the front of my hair- the fly always and baby hair that stick up and frizz up. The texture is nice and it’s a great alternative to KMS Hairplay that I normally use. I paid $24 for a smallish moderately sized jar but because I will only use a little at a time, it should last some time.

Argh!! This is not a good styling product for me. I wanted something to add some texture to my straight, shoulder length layered cut. I wanted to define and separate my layers and add some grit. I have tried numerous dry texturizing sprays and have found every single one extremely sticky, including the two AG sprays, High and Dry and Texture Spray. I also am not a fan of the matte finish most texture sprays have so this Texture Gloss seemed the perfect remedy. However, it’s by far the stickiest stuff I have ever put in my hair. Not only did it immediately weigh my hair down but it’s very hard to spread even though I used a very small amount and warmed it in my palms beforehand. It didn’t give me the type of look I’m going for and although it does have a glossy finish, it made my hair look immediately greasy and in need of a serious wash. Yuck!! I’m not sure I’m using it the proper way. I tried scrunching it into my layers but it pretty much stuck to my ends and made them stick together in clumps rather than nicely defining the layers. I’m not sure that this makes any sense but this is the only way I think of to describe what happened. It was an ugly result and because I had the luxury of time, I immediately washed my hair to get this awful stuff outta there. I’m not sure who the ideal client for this product is. I suppose if you have a short spiky cut and want a glossy finish, this could work for you. I also think this product could work if you have some natural wave in your hair. But for straight hair, this is definitely not the right choice. I used a very small amount but it was obviously either too much or too little. I tried using this product twice and both time ended up washing my hair and starting over. A product that is that tricky is not for me. My search for a texturizing product for my shoulder length, straight hair will continue. I’m returning this product to Ulta. My hair looked like sh*t when I used this. That’s enough of a bad experience to warn others off. The last thing I want is dirty, matted hair, glossy finish or not. I definitely don’t want greasy looking hair either. I definitely don’t recommend this if you have a layered shag haircut and your hair is straight.
