This is one of the worst high-end hair products I have ever had the displeasure of trying, let alone purchasing. This absolutely 150% does not do what it is advertised to do: detangle. Now keep in mind here that this isn’t a multi-use, multi-claim product – its not here to shine, condition, defrizz, nada. So it’s a total effing head-scratcher as to why this is such a garbage product… well, for my hair anyway…
I really wanted to utilize this for second day smoothing, and/or pre-conditioning. The sticky feeling it leaves your hair with adds to the yuk factor as well. Don’t even get me started on the strong scent of alcohol. This was a major waste of $37.00.

This didn’t help detangle my curly hair at all. Overly perfumed as well. What an expensive mistake!

This is the first hair product I have ever used when I was panic-stricken when I ran out. I was desperate to bust open the container to get out every last drop. This is an excellent detangler for very thick, curly hair. I can use it on wet hair after washing or on dry curly hair to refresh my style. When use on wet hair, this saves me so much time detangling. I still need to use a leave-in conditioner or heat protectant, but to give you perspective, it used to take me 45 minutes to detangle my hair and now I can do it in under 5 with this. This product also adds moisture. It is expensive, but it lasts several months so I think it is worth. The scent is spectacular.

My hair is blonde, baby fine, highlighted and tangles like a you-know-what after I shampoo and condition it. My hair has always been this way ever since I was a kid. My hairdresser used this on me and wow…it really, really works. It’s pricey but I HAD to have it! I use a wet brush on my hair and it’s STILL hard to get the tangles out until I found this gem. I went home and tossed out all of my cheapo detanglers which worked like crap anyway. This Oribe product smells divine and it WORKS!!! Not only does it make combing through my hair a breeze, it makes my hair so much more manageable after it dries.
I’m usually the cheapest person on earth but I plan to buy this again and again and again. If you come out of the shower and your hair resembles a brillo pad even after you glob heavy duty conditioners on it, buy this good stuff NOW!!! I’m guessing that the people who were not impressed with this product don’t really know what a an absolute horror show it is to try to untangle baby fine hair after a shampoo.

I use and love many Oribe products, but I was not impressed with this. It’s a very basic leave-in spray; no heat protection, not great at detangling, no special ingredients. Of course it has the signature Oribe fragrace, and it’s not bad, but it’s not worth the price tag. I am using it to dampen second-day hair for restyling, but I have to add heat protectant on top of it and layering products can make hair heavy and crunchy. On post-shower hair, I find that it doesn’t smooth or detangle as much as I need it to. I like to layer products, but this one just doesn’t do enough to earn a step in the rotation.
Save your money and get the Gold Lust hair oil instead. That is a truly outstanding product. This primer is pretty much just Oribe-fragranced water.

Background Info: I have stick straight, fine, color processed, Asian hair that hits my midback.
I got this during Cyber Monday on a whim b/c I absolutely love Oribe’s Royal Blowout spray and thought hey why not this is like half the price of that one (though still pricey!! ~$36). I shampooed my hair this morning and then sprayed this through from roots to tips.
The fragrance is typical Oribe fragrance — which I love!
After spraying it in I was able to comb through pretty effortlessly. It didn’t cut down the drying time — but it doesn’t claim to do so. My hair looked pretty awesome afterwards (it didn’t weigh it down) and I already got a few compliments today at work asking me what I did special to my hair today.
I haven’t tried it in conjunction with other products yet (just b/c I wanted to see how it would fare on its own) but from what I have read it does play well with others.
Hope this helped!
