There is absolutely nothing I would change about this! I bought this because I had just gotten my hair cut short and with hair as straight and fine as mine, I didn’t want my hair to be slippery when I have short hair (It really is a struggle #firstworldproblems)!
So I picked this up because Garnier fits right into my budget for hair products and it just happened to be on sale. First off, Garnier products, in general, smell amazing! I will never understand why people complain about it.
Second, this does exactly what it says. It gives my hair grip so it’s easier to style, it looks surprisingly natural for a micro- powder styling product, and it lasts a long time.
Although, if your hair isn’t exactly in the best shape (dry, damaged), then this might make your hair look worse or static-y. I was born with good hair genes and I try to take good care of my hair, so it worked for me, but it didn’t work for my sister who has kind of dry hair and she hated it!
They have also repackaged this. Hallelujah. This one is prettier and the cap on the other one kept falling off (did anyone else have that problem)

I just bought my second bottle of this. Now it doesn’t offer heavy duty texturing (that is better achieved with waxes, salt sprays, etc) but what I love this for is adding some grit to freshly washed and styled hair.
I don’t like my hair to look too perfect. I like a messy look. But I only wash my hair 2x/wk so I don’t want to make it feel dirty right away. Some products (like volumizing hair powders) work wonders but make your hair feel gross. Who wants to ruin freshly washed hair? But this is perfect to add texture without adding shampoo days.

I am 37, but only starting attempting to “style” my hair regularly in the last year or two. I have shoulder-length baby fine hair, the kind that clings to your scalp and will barely hold a ponytail elastic because of the slippery texture. This product is AMAZING. I had been going through the process of blow-drying with Big Sexy Hair Root Pump, then spending 30 minutes curling in layers and hair-spraying everything to Jesus just to get a little volume. I am generally lazy, so doing this once a week was all I could manage.
Now I wash it and air dry with maybe a little mousse at the roots or sea salt spray. Give some sprays of the Texture Tease in the morning, scrunch it up, then lightly brush to smooth the top layer and ends. Now I can wear my hair down regularly with 10% of my previous effort. Even better, it holds all day – no more awkward re-fluffing in the office bathroom! I get thicker-feeling hair with a bit of wave and volume evenly distributed from root to ends. And the price can’t be beat. I buy multiples when they are on sale for $2.99 at my CVS.
There are 2 cons, but neither is a deal breaker for me:
1) It does give your hair a drier feel which took a while to get used to. You will have to trade the slippery touchability of your fine hair for the benefits, which is kind of a given with this type of product. Use as little as you can get away with.
2)I feel like the product attracts more dirt by the second day than my hair without a texturizing spray. Although my hair doesn’t feel sticky or look greasy, it feels heavier. So be sure your shampoo is clarifying enough to get rid of this buildup.
