I tried this product along with the Alterna Restoring Hair Shampoo and Conditioner because my 6+ year hair salon switched from Nioxin to this stuff instead. The only redeeming product I found in the line was the Alterna Hard Hold Styling gel. I thought the hairspray smelled awful, left my hair overly shiny, and flaked something horrible in my color-treated hair and didn’t wash out completely unless I used their weekly stripping shampoo. What a racket!!! During the summer months I also found that this hairspray tended to get tacky in the high humidity. Yuck! Will not use anything else in this line again!

This product claims to replace the omega-3 fatty acids that our hair loses as we age. That’s definitely news to me, but despite all the scientific nonsense on the back of the can, I decided to give this a shot anyway. This provides a flexible hold, and while it really provides a very minimal hold, it gives hair shine and smooths the frizzies without that sticky, stiff “hairspray” feel. I don’t mind the scent either. Would probably re-purchase.
