This mousse is perfect for even the finest hair. It’s super lightweight and doesn’t weigh hair down at all. It adds incredible volume and has great hold. I use it on the roots and the length and then blowdry upside down. I get great lift at the roots that lasts all day. It even works in the Florida humidity. My DIL also uses it and she has baby fine hair but it gives her great curl definition when she uses a curling iron to create loose beachy waves. It’s also pretty concentrated so a little is all that’s needed for lift, hold and volume. This is the first truly lightweight mousse I’ve used that isn’t the least bit crunchy or stiff. In fact, I can’t feel it in my hair at all. It the perfect solution for those of us with fine hair. I occasionally find it in TJ Maxx for $10 rather than the retail list price of $15, but Ulta also carries it. If frizz is a problem, then use a lightweight silicone serum before using this mousse. I use Got2B Shine Serum (a very tiny amount on the midlengths and ends and then, using just what’s leftover on my hands, I smooth the top) which is a pure silicone product that doesn’t contain any heavy oils and that also acts as a heat protectant. These two products give me frizz free waves that last all day. This mousse actually has great hold when I use a curling iron, something unheard of in a mousse product for fine hair. It’s absolutely terrific. I definitely recommend this product. It’s the HG of mousses for me!

PROS: My curls are very weak (barely curly hair.) Usually, curl products either emphasize a curl but leave my hair stiff and crunchy, or they are too glossy/moisturizing and weigh my curls down. This is what I’ve been searching for. It’s my holy grail hair product. I get definition and a bit of smoothing effect, while making my curls more “curly.” It even makes my fine hair appear more thick. Smell is fine.
CONS: Not the cheapest in the world, but there are much more expensive products too. Applicator gets clogged very easily.
APPLICATION TIPS: I was using “Spray it Curly” by itself. I now use the Spray it Curly sprayed into my hand to scrunch my ends with. I then take this and put a small amount at a time into my hands and work some into my root area (and some mid-shaft too). I could see using this a bit on my ends too.
ALTERNATES: They have one for a “Strong Hold” too. I prefer this one for my very fine hair and because I really don’t like ANY “crunch” to my curls. I now use Garnier Wonder Waves Wave Perfecting Spray (or “Spray it Curly”) sprayed into my hand to scrunch my ends with. I then take Suave Captivating Curls Mousse and put a small amount at a time into my hands and work some into my root area (and some mid-shaft too). And my curls have NEVER looked better.
