   I personally didn’t care for this in my hair. It is fairly inexpensive and lasts a really long time since you only need a teeny tiny bit of this. It’s really sticky and goopy so the key is to rub a little bit of this on your hands and then tousle it gently through your hair to add volume and texture and separate pieces for that “beachy” look. I have naturally wavy, thick, coarse hair and this just didn’t add the hold and texture that I was looking for. It was too sticky and didn’t really do anything for me. I can see coupling this up with a sea salt spray to really get that beachy hold and texture. But honestly I have another texturizing paste that is more of a cream that works better for me. I have to say that I do like the Not Your Mother’s beach babe sea salt spray though and would recommend that. Overall, I can see this working for some people it just wasn’t for me.

   With any of these PVP based thickening/pastes you need to use it very sparingly & cocktail it with other products to get the best results. As a hairdresser I can tell you this product has the same ingredients as any other expensive hair pastes> think KMS etc.
   For best results use the amount of a dime to a nickel & emulsify it with hair mouse in your hands then apply from roots to ends. Blow dry with a round brush for smooth body or with a diffuser if you want curls. This will give meatyness & substance to the hair without making it a gummy glob.
   For extra oomph at the roots use a little sea salt spray as you blow out with your brush.
   With any product like this you can get the greasies..However pastes are the only products that really give hair body & substance to hold a style if you have fine or medium hair, so the idea is to counteract the waxiness of the paste with the mouse & or salt spray. It’s all about balance.

   I’ve always wanted to try this but strayed from it because of some of the reviews on here. It recently went on sale for less than $3 so I thought might as well try it since it’s so cheap than it normally is. 1st off the smell is incredible and that’s good enough reason to like it. The texture as others have mentioned is that it’s sticky which it is, so I use a small amount into my wet/damp hair. Gives my wavy hair the extra oomph I desire. I definitely recommend this!!!!

   I have used two bottles of this over the past 1.5 years. It’s one of my favorite products even though there are things about it that drives me crazy.

   I love the smell. It’s a very sticky, gloopy product so, def only use it in wet hair. I use it on pretty wet hair after I’ve put in a curl cream and then scrunched this in. I can’t run it through my hair because of how sticky it is and it does not mix well with other products except for argan oil.

   If you want piecey texture for a pixie cut or a short, messy bob…this is a wonderful product! As my shoulder length hair is getting longer, I’m finding that I don’t like it as much. I don’t get great curls out of my 2c curly/wavy hair. My hair will look more wavy like beach hair which is great when I’m going for that look.

   Even though it’s sticky, it’s totally absorbed into my hair by the next day so, I can have 2nd day hair, no problem. I usually will mist my curls the next day and rescrunch…sometimes adding a bit of argan oil depending on how dry my ends are.

   I keep buying it so I like it enough to have on hand when I want something thicker than gel. I can’t use alcohol-based products like gel and mousse so, this is a great alternative to a stickier curl cream that acts like a gel in your hair.

   If you need more hold than the average curl cream, this is a good product to try. I’ve only found it at Ulta…my local Target carries some of the NYM products but not this one. It’s about $8, I think. Which isn’t bad considering you don’t need very much product at all. I use about a nickel size for my thick hair and it’s more than enough.

   I really like this once I figured out how to use it. This is extremely thick and sticky so it needs to be thinned out and used on wet hair. I put a small amount in my palm and add water, rub my hands together and apply to my hair from roots to ends. Then I scrounge my hair and usually air dry. I paid only 5 dollars for this at CVS and always get good results. Gives enough hold to last all day and virtually no frizz.

   I tested this on my hair when it was dry and my opinion was, “Eh…” Tried it on wet hair and it utterly locked up my hair. It was like I had poured some sort if syrup into my hair. Couldn’t get a comb through without ripping out several clumps of hair. I had to jump back into the shower. The smell is okay – not as overwhelming as the conditioner. I only bought the little sample to test and I won’t even be using what’s left.

   I ordered a sample of this on eBay because I wanted to test it out before committing to a full-size. It smells nice, like coconut. The product itself is very thick and sticky, which I don’t really like. I followed the directions on the packet and applied it to damp hair then let it air-dry. I honestly don’t see any special or unique results. Works the same as my Suave hair mousse in terms of hold and doesn’t really give any “matte” or “texturized” feel to my hair. It might work for some people, but it’s a pass for me.

   I bought this on a whim and didn’t have particularly high expectations, but now I use it every day and I love it. I have thick, straight-ish-but-with-a-tendency-to-pouf-out chin-length hair that can sometimes be difficult. But now I use a dab of this after my hair has partly air-dried, along with a little little Aveda Brilliant Cream (to keep it from being frizzy). Usually I also use a few sprays of the NYM’s sea salt spray, which seems to further activate the natural waves that I only recently realized that I have. Then I just let my hair air dry the rest of the way. The result is big waves/finger curls that almost make it look like my hair was set. The finish is slightly matte, but without looking or feeling dry. Definitely recommended!

   I bought this at Five and Below for five dollars, after hearing great things about it. The consistency and texture should have been a red flag. It was like putting Elmer’s Glue in my hair. I followed the directions to a tee, with no results. After putting globs more then suggested into my poor hair, I finally saw some waves. It looked alright, except that my hair was now a rat’s nest after the required scrunching and tousling. I was afraid that the waves would come out if I brushed it. I let it dry, like the directions said. When I touched it, after fulling letting it dry, my hair was hard. It was literally like putting glue in your hair, and letting it harden. The few waves it gave me was definitely not worth all the trouble, and I would not buy it again.

    This product is literally the best product I have ever used on my hair. I got it from CVS for about $6.50 and it is totally worth it. I followed the directions on the back, first sprayed my hair with the NYM’s Beach Babe Spray, then brushed that through my hair with a wide tooth comb. I use about a nickel sized amount of the cream and rub between my palms, then I run some cold water over the product when it’s on my hands (the product is really thick so I like to water it down a little bit). Scrunch in my hair, and blow dry my hair upside down with a diffuser. At first I have the most unruly curly hair, but after a few minutes it settles and is absolutely perfect. Holds all day, no frizz, totally awesome. I have naturally wavy hair but this really makes it curly. I will usually go through my hair with a 1/2″ curly iron and fix any weird spots, but most of the time I don’t even have to do that. Takes me about 15 minutes to do my hair now. Highly recommend and will continue to use this.
