I have thick, wavy, graying hair that I blow dry to be straight. Since it takes so long for my hair to dry (I use a 2000 watt hair dryer!), I need effective heat protection. I believe this product delivers, and does it well. For one thing, the sprayer on the bottle is very good and delivers a wide mist that covers large sections of my hair at a time. Second, my hair always looks smooth and shiny when I use this. I have repurchased 4 times already and I hope they don’t discontinue it.

Amika didn’t work for my hair . . . at all. I applied the product to wet hair, damp hair, and dry hair. The little results I did receive quickly went flat. I just don’t get it.

I don’t know how I feel about this. On the one hand there’s no denying this creates volume and texture in my blown out hair. On the other hand, it does this by creating a…roughness to my hair that I can’t get used to. At this point I’ve perfected the art of blowing out my 4a natural hair to pin straight. But with this spray my hair never gets as straight as I’m used to. So while I like the look of a little more volume and movement, it’s highly unsatisfying to run my fingers through my hair.
If you can handle your hair not being 100% pin straight, this is good stuff. But I probably won’t repurchase (if I ever run out…the bottle is pretty big and I only use a tiny amount) since there are plenty of other ways for to add texture to my hair without stressing myself out.

I am in love with this spray. It is formerly known as “Amika Blowup Spray” (I believe). I purchased a small sample size of it and fell completely in love with it. It has a light, pleasant fragrance. In the directions, it says that you can use it on damp or dry hair. I have only applied it on damp hair prior blow drying. This spray does serve as a great heat protectant and volumizer. It is light weight and does not weigh my hair down at all. I’m new to experimenting with blowing out my hair at home and so far, this product has made for a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend this to a friend and have actually repurchased it already!
