I have thick curly hair , 2c -3a curls . I bought it with high hopes but it did not give me the frizz free hair that I was looking for. I want something that really weighs down my curls. It is a good jelly for less curly / less frizzy hair than mine , my hair felt soft after using it but you have to you a lot of product because it is quite runny so it is not cheap actually.
I am not going to use the rest of the container because as I said my hair was still frizzy on the first day and on the second day my hair was full of frizz .

This stuff is good on the first day however the next day my hair feels like bricks, super stiff. I noticed a reviewer mentioned breaking out, I also had this problem.

UPDATE: I had to knock this down a lippie when I realized it was causing some abnormal breakouts. I started to get pimples on my neck and sides of my face where the product touched my skin (nothing else in my routine had changed). Maybe it’s the fragrance? Once I figured this out, I started washing those areas after application to make sure no residue was left behind. It became kind-of a nuisance. In the meantime, I discovered Biotera styling gel & that has become my everyday product instead.

Loving this so far! I’ve been through many curl products trying to find the right fit, after my favorites have been discontinued or reformulated. I had tried KCCC before this, and while I liked the results it took SO long to dry. No idea why it took so long. So I was a little hesitant to try another jelly, but I’m so happy I took a chance on this. Dry-time was normal for a gel, and felt great in my curls. Gave nice curl definition and hold without being crunchy or forming a hard cast. It’s also nice that it’s cheaper than Kinky Curly’s for the same size tub. 🙂
Sidenote about jellies: These have started popping up in the marketplace in the past few years, and are mainly composed of aloe + pectin. Pectin provides the hold. There are various DIY recipes floating around the web, but I think this product provides a good value & you can skip the work of making it yourself. Just keep in mind that you’ll probably use this up within a month or so, faster than normal gels.

Almost amazing. Have repurchased a few times. There is a learning curve although not as bad as with the kccc. Depending on the weather I might put a gel on top to keep the hold. I put this in after a leave in and oil. Zero complaints.

This is my go-to gel for curl defining. I have been through multiple products over the years but this one always rises to the top. Adds great shine. I always use in conjunction with a leave-in, usually its companion in the brand.

Smells great, price is a little steep but not bad ($13). Doesn’t leave a funky residue & washes out easily from my 3a hair. Has the consistency of a gel/pomade almost. Comparable to Miss Jessie’s curly custard or shea moisture’s soufflé. Will purchase again!

I bought the curling jelly & absolutely LOVE IT. The jelly leaves my 3a-b-c curls soft, versatile, & frizz free. I also use the CG method.

This is amazing for creating tight, well-defined curls. It dries a little crunchy (not as much if As I Am Leave-in is used), but after scrunching hair is bouncy, and curls are tight. If I use more Leave-In beneath the jelly, I can get more elongated curls. Overall, this jelly is in my top favorites along with Kinky-Curly Curling Custard and Coffee-Coco Curl Creme…and they are my platinum standards. This has too much glycerin to work as a “regular” for me during consistently low-dew points, but I just love this jelly when the weather is on my side.
