So lately i have been using Avon’s Matt lipsticks which are great (will also review). I then thought why not try their new “Magix Smoothing Primer”.
It arrived in lovely simple and elegant packaging. It is a compact, there was no sponge or applicator provided and requires to be used with your fingers. Not too keen on the idea of using my fingers i used a beauty blender. Also the instructions (to dab and not rub using fingers) were inside the box.. no not on a leaflet but printed inside the box.
The product is really easy to use and doesn’t require a lot. It feels waxy to go on but then leaves a smooth primery feel. I dabbed a small amount over my face, didn’t really notice any blurring or any vanishing pores as you do expect from a primer (i was expecting magix/magic). My foundation glided on top of the product well.
I have sensitive skin but ordered this product after reading avon products are hypoallergenic.
After 20 mins or so i noticed my face felt warm in places and itchy. I had come out in blotches. I was busy so had no choice but not wash it off for another hour. Once i removed everything my skin was blotchy and thanks to ice and natural remedies it calmed and cleared by night. Safe be said that I won’t be using it again.
That being said 2 colleagues wear it and they love it. The price is great too-I got it on offer for £7 from £10 and this week it’s £6 as an introductory offer. So a bargain for what it offers (if it works/suits you). The packaging is nice and simple which makes it look like a good high end product. Disappointed that it didn’t suit me.
Overall I’d suggest being wary if you have sensitive skin.
