I LOVE this product! I was searching for a scrub that has micro exfoliators. I randomly found this for $8 and I’m so happy. I like the smell as I am into essential oils. I do not find it leaves any film at all. I’m not sure why others have complained about it taking too long to remove.. It is a scrub. My face is much cleaner than prior to using it. 10/10 will buy again.

I bought this product at Ulta after trying several other of the Avalon Organic Lavender line…I have super sensitive skin which tends to get dry and flaky in the winter months…this product eliminates the flakiness and smooths your skin after just a single use! It didn’t irritate my skin or acne, and the grains are super fine yet exfoliate quite well…its an unscented product, although it does smell medicinally…I will say that the price is quite high, and I wouldn’t have bought it if I didn’t have a $5 coupon and $5 bonus bucks…so I got this product for around $9. I will buy this again if I run out, but only with coupons!

Today I bought my 2nd tube of this today. Last year I used this and I was pleased with how long this lasted. Over 6 months really! which is great value for a scrub that costs under 25NZD. I haven’t had much success in using exfoliators. This scrub doesn’t dry my skin out at all. I love the way my skin feels after I use it. I can no longer afford many skincare products like my favourite deep cleansing masks, so I am just going to exfoliate once a week. It brightens my skin nicely and helps keep it spot free. EDIT: I don’t use scrubs anymore. My Mum liked this exfoliator.

This is the only scrub that I would use on my face. It does its scrubbing job without being too harsh (I found St. Ive’s apricot scrubs to be a little too harsh). I think I’m on my third or fourth tube of this now.

I had been using the face wash for a while and got some of this to try. Firstly its a lot runnier than expected so although the instructions say to apply a ‘small amount’ I always seem to squirt out too much from the tube!
However I love the smell and its easy to apply and easy to wash off.
The only thing I felt was that the scrubby bits were a little too harsh for my skin. However it just means I don’t scrub too hard.
I was very impressed by my skin afterwards- it felt smooth and looked clean.Also I did not have any sensitivity issues.
However I would definitely buy again. Usage: once or twice a week.
Miles better than any other enzyme scrubs I have tried including Elemis which just broke me out.How long these items keep is an issue so I always keep this in the cupboard and check carefully.
Its a little hard to get (UK) but I got some off ebay.
My local health shop stocks some of the range but not this. Costs about £7 and will last ages.

At first I was using this daily – to really get my pores clean. But all the scrubbing made me break out more. Its granules are super small but still a little scratchy and the smell is more medicinal and less lavender-y. I use this only once a week.

After trying numerous scrubs, I found Avalon’s Exfoliating Enzyme Scrub to be my favorite. The exfoliating beads are small, but there are plenty of them to get the job done and the scrub is gentle enough so it does not irritate the skin. My skin feels great after using this and the lavender smell of this product is lovely.

I’ve been growing increasingly worried about my choice of jumping into the “natural” and “organic” skin care bandwagon because the FDA doesn’t have regulatory standards for these products. The absense of parabens, while easing the concern of some women, started to worry me. The more “natural” ingredients are listed, the more I wonder about their real capability of staying germ-free.
Now, two days ago, I noticed my Lavender scrub had black spots around the opening, and also around the twist off cap. It struk me as weird, because nothing else has that problem, and I keep several things in my shower, such as Avalon’s lavender shampoo, Effaclar gel cleanser, etc. When I looked closely to the scrub, I noticed it had a colony of little bugs, also black, all around. Needless to say, I threw the thing out, and I’m not rebuying.
I’m planning on getting rid of products that have these “natural” non regulated preservatives that don’t do a thing to prevent this gross contamination. Things like my beloved Burt’s bees orange scrub, that I now think it has “lasted” so long that I might as well be scrubbing with a dirty horse’s tail… I’m really disgusted, and I hope everyone of you finish this product within a week, or else you’ll be slathering a blob of germs onto your face…
Do you want naturals?? Look for them in products backed up by EFFICIENT preservatives, namely parabens, which surely are not that bad if they are still approved by the FDA to use on FOOD.

PS. I do love the Avalon organics lavender deodorant, which by the way, does have parabens. I’m also on my third bottle of Avalon’s lavender shampoo, which ALSO has parabens. The company, however, stopped using these preservatives and sent all their perfectly good products to 99 cents stores, because even though they were full of organic plant extracts (let’s trust them), they also had those naughty-naughty parabens. As they now proudly claim they are “paraben-free”, I won’t repurchase any of their new versions. A true shame.

I like this scrub a lot. Others mentioned that it didn’t feel very scrubby to them, but my skin has been sensitized by retinoids (Tazorac) and this felt plenty scrubby to me, like very fine sand suspended in a nicely-scented creamy base (the quality of the scrub particles reminded me of Zihr’s scrub for men). I had to be careful not to rub too hard because I didn’t want to irritate my skin.
This is pH-balanced and the ingredients list is wonderful (no parabens, sulfates, petroleum derivatives, synthetic fragrances or artificial colors). I wish this didn’t have glycerin in it (it’s been an issue for me) but I’ve used it cautiously and haven’t had any problems so far. Also, the company doesn’t use ingredients that have been tested on animals (according to their website), making this a guilt-free purchase. The price is a little steep, but you can usually find good deals if you hunt around online. I’d certainly repurchase.

ETA: Well, my skin has gotten a lot more touchy lately (not sure why) and this has become too harsh for it. I tried it again the other day and had to rinse it off in a hurry because my face felt like it was burning. I’m going to assume that my skin has become more sensitive to essential oils and/or glycerin. Not downgrading the rating because it’s still a nice product, but I won’t repurchase this.

UPDATE 12/07: I’m almost finished with my first tube and I’m definitely repurchasing. I love this scrub more now then when I first started using it back in May…wow, can’t believe it’s lasted this long! After I use this deliciously scented scrub, my skin is left super smooth, soft, and calm. Love it! No breakouts or irritation and I’m very acne-prone and sensitive, so this is an accomplishment.

My skintype: Combo (fall/winter) / Oily (spring/summer), acne-prone, and slightly sensitive. I’ve been using this product for almost a month.
A very nice daily (or almost daily) face scrub. The ingredients look to be pretty soothing and it leaves my skin calm and happy. There are a good amount of scrubbies so I wouldn’t call this “ultra mild”, but it’s definitely not harsh. They feel more like a coarse baking soda scrub to me. If you have super sensitive skin I would think this could be too much, but for most everyone else I think it’s perfect.
At first I was hesitant about purchasing a product with a high lavender content as it’s not my favorite smell in the world. =) But, I actually like and enjoy using this product and the scent doesn’t bother my nose nor my skin. It also hasn’t caused my breakout-prone skin any problems. It rinses clean, leaving my skin soft and lightly moisturized.
I originally chose this product because I’ve been trying to switch to as many paraben-free products as possible and I’m very happy with my purchase and will probably re-purchase.
