I did quite like the product as it gave a nice shimmer to my legs and arms.It looked especially nice on my arms…
However I got in the bath after using the product and it found it created a little pinkish scum which then proceeded to stick to the bath… NIGHTMARE!
oh and note to self don’t leave on radiator accidentally as I did.

I have never bought anything from Lush before and bought this after reading about it in a magazine. I was intrigued by this body tint and I quite liked the smell.
The application is a little tricky and messy, because it’s a little heart-shaped bar that starts kind of melting in your hands. You are supposed to rub it on your body to give it a nice golden tan tint, but it rubs off on your clothes quite easily.
If you are pale this will make you look orange, but if you are already tanned or have a darker skin colour then this will give you a nice golden shimmery look, which is actually quite nice and great for the summer, unfortunately it rubs off really easily.
Unfortunaltey it’s a waste of money

I have been using this as a bronzy highlighter on my face, as well as on eyes and lips for a little glow and color without full makeup. Even though I have light skin and I have no tan yet this summer it seems to work well. Haven’t tried as a body bronzer and I can see why others say it rubs off onto clothes. I think its going to be a great summer multitasker for travel – we’ll just have to see how it does packing-wise in the heat! I have the more pink colored one as well but I actually like this color better!

This is apparently a replacement for the now discontinued ‘Charlotte Island’ body tint, which was an amazing product. I went to buy Charlotte Island (which is still available in Australia btw but is discontinued in the US – they will disappear from Aus soon too) while travelling in the US and was told that these solid body tints are the replacement and supposedly ‘better’. No. They are difficult to apply, they come off on my clothes even after leaving to set on my skin for a long period, they are sparkly / glittery, they do not have as nice a scent, the colour is not as good… just no. No idea why they got rid of Charlotte Island and replaced with this product.

Used this a couple of days ago. I’d read a few reviews where people said that it rubbed off on clothes, so I used a body lotion afterwards to help it sink in better. This product was hard to apply, and I think there was more on my hands than on my legs, but this combined with my body lotion left my legs silky smooth. The color was alright, but I had a lot of scratches on my legs at the time, and this product made them stand out like a naked man at a funeral. All in all, way too much trouble for something that I will build up over summer anyway as I spend a lot of time in the sun. Will not repurchase.

I walked into LUSH and asked a sales lady what product I should use for self tanning. She immediately took me to black stockings. She explained you rub it on and instantly get a shimmery, bronze sheen to your skin. She demonstrated it on my arm, and it looked fine in the store so I bought it. I’ve used it a couple of times since then, and honestly the only good thing about this is the smell. It gets all over clothes because it never fully dries, so that is something I always worry about when I wear this. It takes forever to rub the product in to make it not so streaky, and then I feel like my hands get more of the product than my legs actually do. In the sunlight, the product actually looks very pink and gives the illusion of a sunburn. There is also nothing to store it in (nothing that comes with it, atleast), so you have to worry about melting and it not going everywhere. I really, really wanted to like this product it’s just not for me. I won’t be repurchasing this again.

I got this as a free sample with a Lush online purchase. Despite being pale this gives me a nice golden summer glow. I find it works well for arms, however its more tricky to get it right on my legs. The other day I applied way too much to my legs and it started to slip off. I would not purchase this and will use the sample up. Nice idea and works well for arms. Nice for subtle tint.

This is one of two new Lush products (the other is Silk Stockings) which are body tints. Both of them retail at an overpriced £7.50, they are solid and buttery, like the massage bars. Both have a slight tint (obviously) and some shimmer.
Silk Stockings is supposed to be for pale skins, like mine, but it’s very pink-toned and looks ridiculous on my pale yellow skin, so I went for Black Stockings instead, which is supposed to be for tanned (I wish) or black skins, yet really suited me, bizarrely.
You can either let it melt in your hands or apply it straight to your legs. It moisturises, gives a golden sheen and a pretty realistic tan colour, which will wash straight off in the shower. You can also wear it on top of fake tan. It’s a little bit of an effort to get it nice and even all over, but that’s just the nature of a product like this. Any streaks which appear can be rubbed in easily.
Overall a very good product. I think it’s more of a bronzer than a stocking-replacement product like the Sally Hansen airbrush stuff, though it does even out the skin beautfully so it may work for you in that way too. Well worth a look, but test both products to check which colour will suit you best: in my experience it’s less about how dark yur skin is and more about the underlying tone.
Only negative point really is the price, which doesn’t feel quite right. £5 would have seemed more suitable.
