I’ve been using this cream for a couple of years. You can find a 1 ounce sample for about $3 if you’d like to try it first. This is a VERY thick cream with an unusual texture. It does not fully “sink in,” it forms a barrier on the surface of the skin. I use it on very dry and/or itchy areas. In particular, I’ve found it’s the one product that I can use on my back (prone to eczema/itchiness) that lasts for more than a day. I commonly get itchiness around the ankles and lower legs, so use it there too. It’s fairly expensive for an all-over cream, but worth it if you are having issues with severe itching/dryness. Particularly good this time of year (winter).

It has only been a week since I have started using this product but I must say that I am in love. I’m not sure what caused me to go from super oily to super dry, but it has been a challenge for the past 3 years. Lately, I have been battling dry skin and sensitivity. When my skin starts looking soft and smooth, it then becomes sensitive. When it stops being so sensitive, then it looks all dried and crusty. Either way, it is super dry and will not hold onto moisture.
Well, the sensitivity has gone down as of lately. Let’s say for the past 4 months or so it has been pretty good. The only problem is that my skin looks very dull and a little bumpy. Luckily no irritation. So I decided to go with curology and try a very low dose of tretinoin. Im on 0.0095%. Even with this very low dose, my skin still began to flake and feel a little raw.
I was looking at Dr Dray on youtube recommendations and I tried this product. I use it at night before applying the tretinoin. Now I wake up to calm, clear and smooth skin. My skin is now able to hold moisture. I have been using Cerve AM to use as sunscreen. In the far far past it use to give me a nice glow. Once I turned super dry, it did nothing for my skin besides protection. After using this product, Cerve now gives me a glow again.
This product even works on my body and makes me feel silky smooth. I’ve been diagnosed in the past with eczema for a dark spot on my back, but the rest of my body has always been well hydrated aka kinda oily. Because of that, I’ve never actually treated the patch of eczema nor ever used super hydrating products.
Some may think this stuff is greasy, but it sinks into my skin. Lotions in general sit on top of my skin and have never made much of a difference beside being sticky to me. That is why I never even considered using a heavy cream product before now. If this came in a travel sized squeeze tube, that would be heaven. I still love it as is.
I wonder how different the AVEENO® CRACKED SKIN RELIEF CICA BALM is from this? The ingredients are very similar. They actually contain all the same ingredients but in slightly different orders. This has oatmeal as the active ingredient and the other has dimethicone.

Got a generous 1 oz. free sample of this from my dermatologist. I do NOT have eczema but it is a soothing, thick balm and seems benign and unscented. May be helpful as it is supposed to contain colloidal oatmeal which is soothing.
For free? Works well on dry heels, knees and elbows. Kinda thick for every day use.
