So disappointed in this shampoo. It didn’t clean my hair properly, left it with a gross coating. I don’t usually have a problem with build up or other sulfate free shampoos. I have long thick wavy hair.

I have used 2 bottles of this. I have locs since Oct 2015, it is a juggle finding products that suit my coarse dry hair, dosent create build up and works in a hard water area.
This formula is a whole heap better than the brown original raw shea shampoo. It is quite moisturising and with 2 washes cleans the hair. I feel it leaves a coating on the hair which may or may not be what your hair needs. But with extensive rinsing this is a great inbetween cleanser.
After a while I felt it interfered with the henna take, whereby my greys didn’t come out as vibrant red. It wasn’t until I used the JBCO Strengthen and restore shampoo from this same line, that I could compare this one. After the JBCO my henna take was great.
I might buy this again for moisturising cleanse… after a sweaty gym activity. With a clarifying JBCO used to ‘clean ‘ the locs every once and a while.

With the name having super fruit in the title, I expected the shampoo and the rest of the super fruit products that I tried to have a really nice fruity type of smell to them. However, I cannot for the life of me, pinpoint exactly what type of smell the super fruit line had, because it doesn’t smel, like any type of fruit that I have ever smelled before. The smell is strong. I dealt with that. The shampoo works the same as the Curl and Shine Shampoo, so I didn’t notice a big difference in performance. It got my hair and scalp clean without leaving it feeling stripped. This is a decent shampoo. It does what a typical sulfate free shampoo is supposed to do. There’s nothing overly special that I can say about it. So, you are definitely welcome to try it.
Do I plan to use it again? No. The only reason why is because I do happen to have a shampoo that I love very, very much that I do currently use now and that is Jessicurl’s Hair Cleansing Cream.
None of the Shea Moisture shampoos have really wowed me, which is why, I just can’t speak super highly of them. They work decent, but that’s about it.

I really like many things from this brand, and someone got me into the shampoo (which I never thought would work for me). I started with the black castor, so I have something to compare this one to. I hadn’t been using sulfate free but my regular shampoos were too drying and still weren’t cleaning the buildup. In the past, I would try sulfate free occasionally and thought they were anywhere from just ok to bad. But I actually really did like the black castor one even though at first I did feel a bit of stickiness near the roots. I heard it goes away in time with switching to SF so I kept going and now I really like that one.
I got this one because I like this scent in the body oil, even though it’s strong. But as a shampoo, I noticed it was much ‘stickier’ near the roots than the black castor and my hair was much harder to brush even with conditioner. I lose a lot of hair in the shower, but this was extra because I couldn’t comb through it. I actually got the Curl conditioner at the same time as this, so I wasn’t sure if it was this, that or both. So I tried this with my old conditioner and it still was stiffer and drier than the castor shampoo and the ends seemed much drier than they had been since going SF. So that bummed me out. Even though I want to like this, I don’t think it’s for my hair at all. I’m still sort of unsure about the curl conditioner, but I tried it with the castor shampoo (instead of with this one) and it already feels better than when I used it with this shampoo.
I returned this. I’m going to try the weightless, or if nothing else, stick with the castor one.

Love the smell but that’s about it, does the complete opposite of everything that it claims on the front label. Had a lot of hair loss after the shampoo and keep loosing hair everyday, this doesn’t happen with my regular shampoo, also leaves a film/coat on my hair, waste of $12.
EDIT: June 2017, I still had this in the shower and decided to try it again since I was washing my hair more than once a week and HOLY GUACAMOLE, I lost so much hair, I literally had rolls of hair on the shower drain and when I combed my hair after the shower my whole sink and comb was covered in hair, I was loosing hair just by touching it while I was applying moroccan oil, I am in shock on how much hair I lost and my hair still not clean, my whole head has a film coating it, my roots feel crunchy like when you put too much dry shampoo.

I recently picked up this shampoo on a recent shopping trip, along with the matching conditioner. I have to say I LOVE IT!
I was drawn in by the packaging since it looked like it wouldn’t be too heavy for my fine, color treated hair that could always use a little moisturizing. Not to mention it says on the bottle: nourishing, color protect, anti-aging, hydrating, softening, etc. Hello!!! LOL
I like the smell. I did notice a more liquid consistency when I applied it, but I had no problem getting a nice lather. My hair feels nice and clean after I use it and it looks shinier and healthier after a few days of using it. I am usually a person who rotates shampoos daily so I don’t get build up, but I have to say I used this one few days in a row since it left my hair feeling so beautiful! My hair did not seem weighed down at all or greasy when using it.
I like this shampoo (as well as the conditioner that goes with it) and I plan on buying it again in the future. Another great Shea Moisture product!

I have 2AB BSL hair that is dry but not too damaged. I really liked the masque in this line so I decided to pick up the shampoo and conditioner. Bummer! The shampoo barely lathers at all so I kept rewetting and adding more product just to be able to get all of my scalp scrubbed. By then, my hair was in a knot reminiscent of the Christmas lights on National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacay, LOL!
I used copious amounts the matching conditioner to try to salvage my hair, about 20 pumps. Trying to lightly comb my fingers through as I was distributing the conditioner but there were so many tangles. Unfortunately it’s performance wasn’t much better, so it’s going back to the store.
ALSO, I swear it smells like Windex. LOL!

This shampoo has been very good for my relaxed hair. It is moisturizing and doesn’t strip at all. It also is not so heavy that it weighs your hair down. Also, my thinning hair looked noticeably fuller after the first use. (I follow with the companion conditioner) Would definitely buy this again.

So I used this shampoo yesterday and it has already shown results in my hair. My hair is shinier and not as dull. When I first used this I was perplexed at how much of a liquid consistency it had. I had to use a lot of it, but it cleaned my hair really well without stripping plus adding shine! At Walgreens it was on sale for $8.99 and I had a $2 off coupon I clipped out of the newspaper so I got it for $7 and some few cents. The smell is nice, clean, and fresh. I would definitely recommend and don’t understand why this has such negative reviews. Definitely give it a try! My hair is oily at the roots and dry at the ends(due to bleaching) and this did not dry my hair out nor make it oily, so it’s a win for me!

This is a rather liquid shampoo that smells heavenly and lathers pretty well. It has nice ingredients and doesn’t strip my hair, but it does leave my fine color treated hair greasy especially at the roots and still dry towards the bottom like some other reviews have stated…so disappointed! Easily available and cheap. Comes in your typical plastic bottle. Won’t be repurchasing
