I purchased this shampoo since I wanted a shampoo with sulfates and aloe, minus essential oils and botanical extracts (which seem to irritate my scalp). They must have changed the ingredients, because all of the ingredient lists I saw online have ALS/ ALES in the ingredient list, mine just has SLES. I prefer SLES, so I thought I would like this.
However, I could tell in the shower that it wasn’t going to be good. It has a light fresh/ floral scent, which was pleasant enough. But the texture of it is like liquid-y jello, and although I concentrated on my scalp, I could tell it was tangling my hair. After using a conditioner from a different company (which I normally like) and my hair (normally oilier at roots, drier at ends, and fine) dried, it was left feeling a little frizzy and poofy and tangle-y. I just simply didn’t like how dry it felt. Oh well, it was only $1.50. This would probably be good for someone with very oily hair that’s on shorter side.

Pleasing scent not too fake or too sweet, not childish either. I would use this again probably in summer. Wish they would make a decent conditioner though

This shampoo (& matching condish!!) are my top fave suave shampoos only rivaled by Suave Strawberry. I love the scent of this. And I used it when I went to Hawaii on vakay & got sun poisoning, used it on my hair/scalp & as a bodywash. It smells clean, like honeysuckle & it keeps my scalp from being too oily yet my ends aren’t too dried out. Cannot beat the price & availability. Suave naturals has a lot of good scents (eg strawberry, aloe Vera, coconut, green apple, mountain spring, hey even their clarifying shampoo smells good!!). Wish they would bring back a balsam type shampoo scent coz I used to love using theirs back in the day. When I use aloe Vera shampoo I don’t hafta wash my hair as often, I can skip & go do every 3rd or 4th day which is handy since I have naturally curly hair. I wash my hair 3x in the shower with this to remove all the product build up & oil of the past couple of days worth of styling. Smells so great!!!!

First of all i would say that i like the smell of this shampoo its very fresh and tangy.Another thing is that this shampoo gives my hair volume which i really appreciate but the worst thing about this shampoo is it makes my hair frizzy and doesn’t give me a clean feel. This shampoo lathers well and comes in a huge bottle with a cheap price. This shampoo is ok but not that good as i used to think when i read really good comments about it.Well what can i say everyone has a different opinion and experience.

It is cheap and keeps my hair in good tact

This shampoo is a very good basic shampoo. I definitely need to use a conditioner with this, but all I ask is for clean hair and a scalp that does not itch. This does it for me. Suave reformulated their Naturals shampoos recently and I like the new ones much better now. If you haven’t given Suave Naturals a try lately, you should. And it’s dirt cheap!

Scentwise this is my favorite of the Suave Naturals line. It smells so clean and watery, reminds me of a Yankee Candle. However, it is a little more drying than the strawberry and apple versions. I buy it to use rarely and as a hand soap and body wash. If you had oily hair this would be perfect.

First off, let me say that this review is for the Suave Aloe Vera & Water Lily shampoo. I’m not sure it’s the same kind everyone here is reviewing…but it’s not listed. Now on with the review! 🙂
I love the smell of this shampoo. When I first smelt it, it reminded me of Ralph by Ralph Lauren. It is a light floral scent, but at the same time it has a sort of clean water-type of scent to it (hard to explain.) I had heard good things about Suave on here so I decided to give the brand a try. It cleanses my hair of dirt and oil very well, however I found that during the winter it was a little too drying…
The matching conditioner works pretty well too. I love how dirt cheap the shampoo & conditioner are! I’ll definitely buy again. Packaging quality is okay.

I usually use salon shampoos and conditioners. Biolage, Kpak, Redken, Tigi, etc but I stayed over at a friends house one night and had to use her shower and shampoo. The first time I used it…I was like “Wow this stuff works great and is dirt cheap” so I went out and bought some. BIG MISTAKE…I’ve been using it for about 5 days and my hair feels like sh*t!!! NEVER EVER again.

Like other people have said:
Pros:
1) The smell…very subtle and pleasant. I’ve used Herbal Essences, Pantene, Thermasilk (before it was Sunsilk), and Garnier Fructis, Dove, and L’oreal and they all had smells I got sick of by the time I was done with the bottle. I’ve been using this bottle for a little over a month now and I still haven’t gotten sick of it…it’s innocuous but pleasant.
2) So cheap…You can get it from under a dollar to about $1.30 max depending on where you’re buying.
Cons:
1) More drying than usual. But I’ve been using it with Trader Joe’s “Spa Nourish” organic/no sodium laureth/laurate rip off of Giovanni’s organic conditioner (TJ’s line is about $2.50 a bottle for about 16 oz.), and so far my hair’s texture has been the best it’s been in months. The only time it’s been better is when I was using shampoo and conditioner from Lux, a Unilever brand based in Asian, but it’s about $17 a bottle here vs around $5 in Taiwan.
I don’t know if I’d repurchase it again…it definitely gets my hair clean without buildup and I don’t have trouble with tangling as other people do, but I do notice that my hair is dryer than usual. It’s weird though; when I use the TJ conditioner, it usually balances out by the end of the day.
I have mildly coarse, thick Asian hair.
