2018. Finally found a shampoo that doesn’t break out my scalp.I have natural 4C high porosity hair. This works great. It leaves my hair soft despite it saying on the brown bottle ‘olive neutralising shampoo with avocado and silk’. The bottle is a tall brown bottle with green writing not the tub pictured here which isn’t actually a shampoo but a hair treatment.
It says on the bottle it’s for relaxed and natural hair and neutralizes and clarifys but for my hair it makes it soft without drying it out. There’s a slight slick feeling after you wash your hair.

Actually, a decent shampoo for the price. It did not make my hair feel like a piece of wood, which is a huge plus. It moisturized and it has good ingredients. I used the SE treatment with olive oily after it and loved the combination.

My new favorite shampoo & conditioner. My hair was getting tired of my Dove Intense Damage Therapy (dark blue bottle) and that seemed to be causing buildup much too quickly and weighing my hair down so I didn’t repurchase it again this time and tried this instead since I was already at Sally’s to buy a new professional curling iron. The shampoo and conditioner both smell great, a clean, fresh smell- and the shampoo is rich and yet it lathers really well and you don’t have to use a lot of it to get results, it penetrates the hair very well. It also rinses easily and cleanly and doesn’t take forever to rinse out, like some “repairing” or shampoos for damaged hair. When used with the conditioner my hair is softer, less fly-away and easier to manage. I also think it helps keep the damage to my hair at a minimum with more frequent high-heat styling done with a curling iron or flat iron, although I am also using the Silk Elements Olive heat spray and the glossing serum when I use high heat.
My hair is: bleached and toned (double process), naturally fine with a wave, and tends to get weighed down easily if I overcondition. The ends are dry, and my hair tangles easily.
So far I have great results with this set of shampoo & conditioner and I’m almost done with the bottle. Will repurchase.

Great for overprocessed, damaged hair! My hair was still feeling dry from a hair coloring 8+ weeks prior. But because my roots were starting to show along with crazy gray hairs, I decided to go in for color. The stylist talked me into getting some golden blonde highlights since it was still summer so I thought, “why not?” While I liked the color around my face, my hair was soooooooooooooooooo dry and brittle all over! I went to Sally’s Beauty store to see what they had. I came across the Silk Elements Megasilk Olive Oil Shampoo and Conditioner on an endcap and asked the sales associate if I could use it on my hair. She said, “yes” and that it works much better than many products that are specifically for repairing damaged hair. She wasn’t kidding! I noticed a difference just after my first use! I was so happy. Not only did the product help my hair, it was also was waaaay less expensive than the Graham Webb repair products I had bought before (I like Graham Webb products but they are rather pricey). Word of caution though – The shampoo and condition can start to weigh your hair down if you use it daily. I found that if I use it for a couple of days then use something different, then go back to it, my hair does well without getting dry or weighed down.

I am split over this shampoo. It’s pretty decent overall, smells like clean cotton, cleans nicely, and did I mention it smells gooooooooooood? ;D
The huge con that comes with this, is that the shampoo itself stings my eyes. I mean to the point where my eyes are blood-shot! I don’t keep my eyes open, it just mixes with the water, and it runs down my face. As much as I love the smell, the super-red, irritated eyes afterwards isn’t worth it. I will only give it a two-lippie rating for the smell. : /
