So, my scalp has always been dandruff prone. I’ve always had a moderate case. I shyed away from head and shoulders for a while and kept using regular shampoos that weren’t medicated. I ALWAYS come back to head and shoulders though and it fixes my scalp right up! After two days of using this itchy scalp shampoo my super itchy moderately dandruff filled scalp was all well and back to normal. I love the eucalyptus freshness this gives as well, its very refreshing in my opinion. I went back and purchased another bottle of this 2-in-1 and am loving it! It has just the perfect balance for my hair and mainly doesn’t make my hair oily, which I was afraid would happen since I never condition my scalp. This is perfect and I will continue to use this! As a mom of 3,’it’s also awesome because the 2-in-1 aspect makes shower time less prolonged! 5 stars!

So I guess I should start out by saying that I DO NOT use the 2 in 1 version of this, I use the shampoo and conditioner in separate bottles. (Itchy scalp). I would have posted a review for it separately but the shampoo/conditioner themselves are not on this site. This stuff has been a god send for me. I just recently started having bad dandruff and a very itchy scalp due to the winter. It was so bad that I had some scabs on my scalp, too. I had been using “Live Clean” brand shampoo for about 6 months and I loved it until the winter came along. This shampoo beats it by a long shot and it is cheaper. The shampoo tingles and is literally so refreshing from the second you put it in your hair. Almost immediate results. My scalp is no longer itchy and the dandruff is very minimal. If I use it every day or every second day, I will not have an itchy scalp at all, and no dandruff. I’m amazed with this stuff and I hope they never discontinue it. I honestly can see myself using this shampoo/conditioner combo for the rest of my life. I’m so happy with it. Give it a try!!!

I’ve had an itchy, dry scalp ever since I was a child. Every few months throughout the years, the flakes have progressed into thick, white, scaly, burning, bloody patches. As a child, doctors diagnosed it as scalp psoriasis, but I’m not 100% sure if that’s actually the case. I’ve yet to discover the ROOT cause, but I suspect food allergies, hormone imbalances, and fungal infections.
Anyhow, I was going through a particularly long episode of burning, scaly patches during the spring of 2017. NOTHING was working. I switched up my diet, tried Selsun Blue, and switched over to sulfate-free salon shampoos (including Pureology and AG Colour Savour), but these only exacerbated the problem. I’d literally start scratching my head the moment I left the shower after using those highly-rated (and pricy) sulfate-free shampoos. My mom let me borrow her ORS Anti-Itch Scalp Oil, and this was a HUGE mistake on my part: I ended up having an extreme allergic reaction to something in the ORS oil and scratched my head for hours until it was a bloody mess.
Out of complete desperation, I headed to Walmart to grab Head & Shoulders Itchy Scalp 2-in-1 and Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Renewal Deep Conditioner. These were an absolute last resort for me: I turned away from drugstore shampoos and conditioners (especially Head & Shoulders and Pantene brands) YEARS ago after reading really bad things about the ingredients in them. But I was desperate!
As soon as I used this 2-in-1 product in conjunction with the Pantene deep conditioner, it was like night and day! My scalp cleared up almost overnight, and my dry, dull hair looked shiny and healthy. I haven’t felt the urge to scratch my head in months now, except if I eat really spicy food (again, I think I’ve got some undiagnosed food allergies that are contributing to my scalp troubles).
I have NO IDEA why Head & Shoulders beats out the expensive stuff, but it does. And the Pantene deep conditioner? I don’t know why it performs better than Joico, AG, Pureology, or the revered Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm. It just does. For now, I’m too afraid to veer away from these two miracle products, so I’ll be repurchasing them until further notice!

This shampoo does not beautify my course, dry hair. HOWEVER, it brings much-needed relief to my scalp. I don’t shampoo any more than twice per week, because it dries out my hair and irritates my scalp. This shampoo, however, gave me a deep clean feeling on my scalp and relieved the itchiness, without drying my hair too badly (2 in 1 but I still use conditioner).
I’m used to sulfate-free shampoos for the sake of my hair’s health. Therefore, this shampoo gave me an unusually satisfying lather which helped to spread the product. To use, I applied small amounts to the front/top of my hairline, my crown, and the back area with my fingertips. I massaged around to coat the majority of my scalp, then I took a wide-tooth comb and gently scratched my scalp at an angle. Thoroughly washed it out, then continued to condition. My head feels comfortable and a little “menthol-y” but not too much so. I repeat that this will not make your hair moisturized and silky, but it’s great for just cleaning your scalp.
EVERYONE WITH ITCHY SCALP, TRY THE WIDE TOOTH COMB THING!! just don’t go too hard, I feel like that would make the problem worse

This doesn’t really work for me.. I usually only use H&S during the winter when my scalp gets dry and the dead skin results in flakies. This one doesnt seem to work as well as the original. I do leave it in for several minutes as the bottle states and I’ve gone through an entire bottle now and noticed that I still have an itchy scalp due to the dryness of the winter. I think maybe I’ll try the nourishing almond one next time..

I get dandruff and a dry itchy scalp from either dry weather or from a reaction to a hair product. I was using a new shampoo that I was loving but noticed my scalp was extremely irritated and itchy. It started to get worse every time I washed my hair. I could not stop scratching my head and with that, I got a lot of flakes. It was the point of being embarassing and intolerable. So, I tossed the shampoo and picked up H&S itchy scalp 2 in 1 shampoo. This worked immediately just after one wash! I’m in black 90% of the time and today, my shoulders are completely flake free. My scalp feels normal again and my hair looks fabulous! My hair which is very dry, thick and color treated is now soft, full of body and silky. The scent is amazing too! This is a $5.49 miracle.

My scalp is sensitive and my hair is short, curly, and color-treated. I don’t have dandruff but my scalp itches. This 2 in 1 made my hair shiny and full. Unfortunately, it greatly irritated my scalp to the degree that it felt like it was on fire. H&S uses very strong cleansers for all their shampoo formulas.

I have dandruff sometimes and this gets rid of it all! I also had itchy sculp problems and it did what it’s said! But if u buy it make sure when u put it in ur hair leave it in for several minutes this makes it work better

I have dandruff breakouts from time to time. I think may be because of stress. Anyway, I’ve been searching for a shampoo that can stop my itchy scalp and dandruff. I’ve tried so many different kinds of shampoo, and I like this one the best! My scalp stop itching and I don’t have that much dandruff anymore.
